50 New Comics With Unexpected Endings That Are Hard Not To Laugh At, By Ricky Hawkins
Interview With ArtistAfter more than a year, 'Inky Rickshaw' is finally back on Bored Panda! If you missed the previous post featuring these comics, you should definitely catch up and enjoy more strips by this artist. What characterizes this series are the funny twists and unexpected endings that comic fans love so much.
During our last interview, the author shared with us some interesting facts about his webcomic: “‘Inky Rickshaw' is an anagram of my name (Ricky Hawkins) and is just a sort of nonsense pair of words that I thought would go well with my random and fantastical style of comic-making. I'm not sure I would keep the same name if I were to start over from the beginning, but it's sort of grown on me over the years."

[INSERT LAUGH TRACK HERE] In all seriousness though that is a good joke. 10/10 would show to a friend. 👍👍
Load More Replies...We got in touch with the artist behind the series and asked him some questions about his recent work. First, we wanted Hawkins to describe a pivotal moment or experience that significantly impacted his growth as a comic artist. We found out: “I've always drawn and made comics, but I really started focusing on it back in 2018 when I started my current comic project, Inky Rickshaw. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I coincidentally got a big surge of followers and I did my best to keep everyone entertained during lockdown.”
"The tooth fairy has always wondered why she has a hard time making friends"
But they’re baby teeth that are supposed to fall out.

Ahhhh...he will gotta eat sooner or later! Elephant needs to release that and let it go!
Load More Replies...You missed some this 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Load More Replies...I think it's about the fact that even an elephant can sometimes forget something... Am I right in it? Can anyone explain this picture?
My music teacher told me he had a surprise for me and I said you too. He laughed. I was dead inside the whole day.
Asked how his style has evolved over time, Ricky said: “I'm constantly trying to get better at art. Comics are a blend of realism and over-exaggeration, and I find myself improving the most when I spend time doing studies from life as well as learning from other artists. I'd say that, over time, my style has become simpler and more stylized as I learn from some of my favorite artists like Bill Watterson and Eiichiro Oda.”
thank you. I read this in the voice and now all I'm thinking is "do you know... the muffin man?"
Load More Replies...You can't catch me, cause I'm the gingerbread man. But oh boy that gingerbread cat can!
Even gingerbread cats are superior to soft can-openers.
Load More Replies...the ginger bread head where found half eaten in a ditch while the rest of the body was spread out in a mile radius from that ditch. the frosting was taken off of all of them along with a little nibble. Some believe it was the grandma you finaly caught the gingerbread man. some think tis the lumberjack. some think it's the sneaky crocodile in the river. come with me as we explore this new episode of Canadian felony tale
Reminds me of that other comic - I believe it was a Perry Bible Fellowship - where the Gingerbread Man sneaks back and witnesses the old lady building herself a second Gingerbread man, except this one is a ripped Gingerbread Boyfriend with a very impressive candy cane.
Even Robert Johnson still had to learn guitar. In case you don’t know, look him up. It coincides with a myth about him.
For those not into research: "Robert Johnson was a Mississippi blues singer and songwriter, who according to legend, sold his soul to Satan “at the crossroads” in exchange for his remarkable talent on the guitar."
Load More Replies...That and supply and demand... specifically over supply and waning demand.
Load More Replies...We were also wondering what challenges the artist faces when transitioning from conceptualizing a story to translating it into visual form. The author of ‘Inky Rickshaw’ shared with us: “The hardest part of making a comic is fitting the idea into the format. I try to use four square panels every time because I like the way it looks on social media, but sometimes I have to scrap an idea because it ends up being too wordy to fit into that format. Ideas need to be conveyed strongly and in as simple a manner as possible."
That would be an amazing youtube channel BTW, hint hint harrisswarman@gmail.com
Lastly, we wanted to know if Ricky could give any advice for aspiring comic artists looking to break into the industry. He told us: “I'm still an aspiring artist myself, but I'll say that one of the most important things is to keep creating and striving to improve as those are lifelong pursuits. Make the art that interests you, and you will eventually find an audience. It also helps to nurture a positive attitude and a good sense of humor!"
I came here to see if the same people who didn't get the elephant joke get this one ... So far, I'm a bit disappointed 🙄
Don't forget massive outputs of pollution and Tofudreg buildingd
Load More Replies...I see the dew fairy and the tooth fairy from the other comic!
Here, it's definitely less romantic, in our country it's called "a witches' circle". Wonder if it still could be made into a comic. Witches can't sit on these things, that's for sure.
Death should have brushed her hair while singing the hundred bottles of beer in the wall song
Well, cats aren't monogamous, so... (Yeah, I know these cats are anthro, but still)
I have a gorgon (like Medusa if you’re unfamiliar) OC that wears super tinted goggles so she can’t turn around to stone.
I, uh, I do this. I once gently bullied an insurance company into correcting a payment issue that would have screwed us outta $3K. They paid the patient instead of us, right as the patient moved out of country indefinitely. The claim was sent correctly, but given they were a French insurance company operating in the US we had not solid legal action to take against them. They could just tell us to settle it with the patient and wipe their hands. So I spent 15 minutes navigating their phone menu, waiting nearly and hour on hold each time, once a day, every day, for 3 MONTHS. It seemed to be a small team for their US department because people would recognize me 😆. Eventually I think I just annoyed them into fixing the issue. They had the patients new address that they refused to share (not that we could force them to pay a bill from overseas), so they could have requested refund of payment from the patient at anytime they wanted and issue the payment to us as they were supposed to.
With a ouji board I think it’s meant to be that you hold the pointer and the ghost supposedly “moves your hands” that’s why people just fake it by moving their own hands and saying a ghost did it

Worst of all that, he's just a messenger. You don't want to know his bosses.
Lol I always save my coins and things like that when I play games. It's not very logical, but I do it.
They're actually not that toxic. Yes, they do contain some poisonous chemicals but Siberian shamen have been using them for a long time as they also contain DMT which is a hallucinogen. They believe it enables them to contact ancestral spirits. Fun fact, the term "getting p!ssed" may come from the fact that if you feed them to someone else their liver metabolises the poisons into harmless waste products while leaving the DMT untouched. It's then passed out in their urine. People used to drink deer urine to get high and in the middle ages local lords would supposedly feed them to their servants and then drink their urine to get high without the sickness.
Load More Replies...... I say the "that's y nobody loves u" as a joke a lot
Oh, if only I could do this.. (I'm about one of the pettiest people you'll ever meet)
I have forgiven my peers that just didn't want to get involved. I understand, not wanting to get bullied is definitely a persuasive argument. But my bullies? The ones who stabbed me in the back? Revealed everything about me? I hope you struggle. Not that you get into anything terrible, like a house fire or mafia or a bomb exploding. But I just hope life treats you as badly as you treated me.
I Used to get bullied a lot, rather than letting it get to me, cracked Bully's nuts. (I guess it did get to me after all)
Yes, and get married and have kids. The kids would have a daddy that’s a mummy.
Load More Replies...I would, but I do the occasional "select all, mark as read" purge.
Load More Replies...I always wondered what illness grandma had, that she got wine and cake braught to her... 🤔

Load More Replies...I hate to be “that guy”…..but bulls can’t see red. They lack the red receptor in their eye. They can see yellow, blue, violet colors and green. I’m sorry I had to say it. It’s still funny tho
Forever punishment by being young and looking the same forever, but also not being able to look at himself in a mirror or the water? Top level evil right there
But... vampires can't traditionally see their own reflection in mirrors because mirrors were coated (or something) with silver, right? So he should be able to see his reflection in water. I could be wrong about the mirror-thing.
That is thought to likely be the original thought process, but over time the common belief was no reflections ever, and the silver thing I believe is only more recently coming back to the light. Another vampire element that I don't see mentioned that much is that they are hurt by running water, so a classical vampire would stay away from the water anyway
Load More Replies...Actually they just eat and ruin my bags of flour rather than crubs lol wtf ants yall got
This one was actually stupid. Especially since I visualized panel 4 while reading panel 2. Plus now she's mute...
Maybe just the last panel being unexpected? So the humour is supposed to be that surprise? I dunno either
Load More Replies...dont worry its fine I jsut got little stomach ache so it probably very .... *explodes*
Load More Replies...Hahaha remembers me, when i did LARP.Was in a group with a Alchemist. The potions he brew, were very good, but every potion had a different side effekt. He wrote the side effekt on a little note glued to the flask. The side effekt of one I drunk, well i had to pee a lot.So i was running every 5 minute to the toilet and pretend i had to pis$.Also knocked on the door screaming to let me in, when some other people were inside. That was really fun.
This is quite literally that one potion you're left with when you're about to die and you used all your actual healing potions.
Clearly they are under the carpet. /s
Load More Replies...The victim is the murderer of course. Just play dead for now, so the woman will be blamed.
"Think about it, there are three people in this room: the body, me, and you. It's neither you or me right? So who does that leave? That's right, the body did it!"
For the people wondering, gneiss means, according to google: 'any coarse-grained metamorphic rock that is banded and foliated'
Kind of! It's not "any" banded, foliate metamorphic rock, though it IS a specific metamorphic rock that is banded/layered! It is a rock produced at higher temperatures and pressures than my favorite rock, schist. (And yes, gneiss is pronounced "nice".) It's a specific type of rock, not an "any" type of rock, if that makes sense - think of it in the same way that one would not say "a German Shepherd is any dog that herds", as a German Shepherd is a specific breed of dog! :D

Not every one. Some take a few days (stomach tissue), and some take years (bone tissue). Some never change (eyes).
