Meet Sam. Sam stands for Socially Awkward Misfit, the name of my webcomic that is loosely based on my own life. Here are some comic strips I've made about the struggles with social anxiety.
Socially Awkward Misfit is drawn from my own experiences in life, such as struggling with social anxiety, and issues relating to introversion and being socially awkward.

Anxiety
I've been creating comics for as long as I remember. Inspired by comics such as The Beano, Garfield, and Viz, I've been creating my own comic characters since I was a kid. I later ended up drawing a few comic strips for The Beano and Viz.
Keep Calm
Sleep
Therapist: sleep is just a mirror of your mental construction Me: oh that's why...
I draw whenever I feel inspired. This tends to be in the evening or night...sometimes well into the early hours! I usually draw while listening to music or funny podcasts.
The challenges I have had with social anxiety and depression have prevented me from being more productive, particularly when creating my animated cartoons. But I have found the more I do it, the more confident I have become.
Under Pressure
that's impressive, actually. i'd consider bohemian rhapsody much more vocally challenging
Overthinking
The healing power of the space bar. One tap for the cure. Congratulations.
Load More Replies...Oh god this is me. Had to stop myself from emailing someone I fell out with 6 years ago to ask what they meant about something.
The most rewarding part of creating comics has been the feedback from lots of people who say they can relate to the issues in my cartoons, and it is heartwarming to hear that it has helped them to know they don't feel alone in this world.
Check Time
Literally, me when I was a kid when my mum would take me to her social events.
Even more awkward when you have no cell phone and just sit there and try to smile and pretend you are fine.

Small Groups
IKR. Me and my friend just stand there trying not to end up in the same group to make it seem like we're clingy with each other/a couple, but then we're left alone and he's just like "Partners?" and I'm like "Yup."

Stupid Things
Brains could use some upgrading to overwrite some memories and defragmentation could be useful as well.
I also want a better search engine, so I can actually find things in the compost heap of my memories.
Load More Replies...Tip: You can sort of "overwrite" bad or uncomfortable memories. 1.Think of the thing until you get really uncomfortable with it. This causes your brain to basically re-record it. 2. Immediately start playing Tetris. Your brain can't re-record that memory and play Tetris at the same time. 3. It might take several times, but each time you do this, it makes a "softer" recording of it until it's no stronger than any other old memory.
Thanks, I *will* try this, but so many of my unhappy thoughts occur when I'm doing something automatic like driving. But then I have to concentrate on the road environment so ...

Get Up And Go
People who tell others what they "need" make me unreasonably angry.
There's a simple cure - just "snap out of it". Whatever that means .... / "Just" is such a lie, it suggests that what follows is simple and easy but it never is. " 'Just' fly to the Moon by wiggling your ears" ...
Memories Of School
Teachers: The student might not have talked because they have social anxiety. DON'T BOTHER THEM, PLEASE.
Me, knowing the Answer and just sick of making the effort of showing it, surprising everyone by being not only correct, but clear and accurate all while doodling in the margin...

Weaknesses
Honesty is never a weakness; not being able to handle certain knowledge is. (providing information through honesty, if it creates a negative reaction, is on the person receiving said information) Never let people tell/convince you honesty can be bad. 'honesty' is never at fault if there are negative results.

So you had a camera inside my head the whole time? Thanks for making these... it is oddly mmm validating.
VERY good start. Even the old jokes and groaners (slept like a baby, communication skills, mistaking something for a song title) were done so well that they were quite enjoyable. The drawing style looks simple while appealing. With a slightly broader topic (a socially anxious guy vs a social anxiety), and a secondary character (a roommate? A parent? This guy strikes me as someone who would talk to his cat, even if the cat wasn't a talking cat), I think this could be a published, professional strip. It's good enough as it is, in fact, but I suspect it'd be hard to come up with that much material.
I feel like I've seen the "haha I'm gonna be productive today OH NO IT'S 3AM AND I'M USING MY PHONE" comic drawn by 20 different artists at this point.
