Entitled Bride Believes This Stranger Owes Her A Custom Order Done For Free, Gets Livid When He Refuses
We’ve all heard horror stories of bridezillas going crazy before their big day, whether it’s a dress, a venue, a guest list, or a gift list. Speaking of the latter, this story posted on the r/ChoosingBeggars subreddit shows just how delusional some brides can be with their requests.
The incident happened after the author of the post, who makes 3D printed stuff, received a message from an unknown bride. The bride asked if she could print out the same customized wheelbarrows the author had at her own wedding. “I want to give them out to my guests so I need a lot,” the bride added.
The author calculated that the grand total of her order would be $4,718K and it would take 54.68 days of non-stop printing. But as crazy as it may sound, the bride was not ready to pay a single dollar and thought it could be all made as a wedding gift.
Read the story in full right below and don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments!
Recently, a 3D printing expert shared screenshots from a chat with a bride who demanded a free customized wedding gift worth $4,718

To find out what an expert had to say on this incident, Bored Panda reached out to wedding manager and consultant Annabel Candler, who runs “Weddings By Annabel.” Annabel said that “when the task of wedding gifts arises, think about who you are asking. That starts the process in the right frame of mind.”
However, “If you start with what you want, it can blur the politeness boundaries,” Annabel said and added that “Nobody has to get you a gift. This is a polite mention with no expectations.”
“If you demand, then a present is given with resentment, which isn’t a great way to celebrate your union! If you are asking for physical items, a gift registry with your fave store is great, but have items on there which cater for all budgets. If you are asking for funds, either for a charity or honeymoon pot, then look up a little poem to word it nicely. There are some witty options out there which help avoid the awkwardness!”
When asked whether some people use wedding gifts as an excuse to get things they want for free, Annabel recounted the time she was picking items for her gift list at Debenhams over ten years ago, and “I admit that I had a great time,” she said.
“But I didn’t presume I would get anything as I know some people don’t like to be told what to get you and some can’t afford it or just pop dosh in a card. I feel everyone should be very grateful for any gift. It’s a kind gesture, not a requirement,” Annabel said and suggested lowering your expectations and concentrating on enjoying their company at the do.
And this is what people had to comment on the incident

Share on FacebookFor once, one of those articles was informative as I got to learn about the 3d printing process and cost a little (an intro if you want) while most of them are just people complaining about people wanting something for free. Upvote!
I found that pretty informative as well. Definitely helped put things in perspective about the whole 3D printing thing.
Load More Replies...Who wants a little wheel barrow with someone else’s initials and their wedding date? It seems like most people would throw them away.
Nah dude, don't you know her wedding is the greatest event they'll ever attend in their lifetime and everyone will want a personalized memento....forget it, I can't even finish this LOL
Load More Replies..."But it's for my wedding! MY WEDDING!" oh, ok, that settles it then.... I'm amazed that people don't realize that their party plans don't mean s**t to other people
Why didn't they just suggest she buy a 3D printer and make them herself? As soon as she started complaining about the cost, give her directions on how to do it herself. Most of the time, you're paying for convenience. How much is it worth to you, to not have to do it yourself?
First red flag= After the question "who is this" woman didn't reply with any information about herself!
We all (rightly) vilify and are horrified by this woman's entitled, ignorant attitude. But I'm going to point out that more of us are guilty of this than we sometimes admit, albeit in a subtler way. Essentially here we have an expert - a guy who knows all about the 3D printing process - and someone who wants to assert her opinion over that guy's expertise and experience. THIS APPLIES BROADLY. We need to LISTEN to experts, whether their expertise is in the effects of racism, how climate change is f*****g up the planet, or why masks help public health. Every time you insist that your opinion is just as good as their expertise, YOU ARE BEING THIS WOMAN.
Ohhh, KatHat, that is an extremely astute observation. Thanks for that. As Isaac Asimov once said (and I paraphrase), "My ignorance is not as good as your knowledge."
Load More Replies...Not wanting to pay that amount is fine. Starting up with insults and then demanding everything for free, that's really classy.
I am absolutely awestruck by the professionalism, calmness, kindness and rationality of this guy, and pretty much equally awestruck by the hideous undeserved entitlement and selfish greed of this awful harpy. I can only say, I hope (for his sake) that her intended is just as horrible a person as she is, so they'll deserve each other. On another note, I am not married myself, but I am very grateful that both of my sisters, and my best work friend, all decided to marry their spouses at their local county courthouse, no "wedding" at all, except for a festive lunch at their favorite restaurants (Lebanese, Italian and Russian, respectively) after the "ceremony." I don't think it's a coincidence that all of their marriages have lasted a long, long time, and are as happy and romantic today as they were from the very beginning -- their relationships were about a lifelong marriage, not a one-day spending binge "Wedding!!!" extravaganza of conspicuous consumption.
I thought it was beyond generous to offer a few of the colored lithos, they were gorgeous. Especially at that point in the conversation!
NO ONE wants your stupid wheelbarrow anyway. I get this crap at a wedding and it goes in the trash right after. What do I want a plastic wheelbarrow with someone's wedding date and initials on it? psycho bride
No one wants that crap. I could see having it as a centerpiece or just for kids but in no way do 250 people want one.
No one, I repeat no one, wants a mini wheelbarrow with your initials and your wedding date engraved on it. The guests will 'forget' to take them when they leave the wedding, or throw them in the garbage when they get home. No. One. Wants. One. Of. These. Get over yourself and make a donation to charity in lieu of wedding favours.
To be fair, $4,718K is a lot of money - $4.7 million, in fact. (Joking of course...it drives me friggin crazy when these BP writers stick an unnecessary K after a number.)
That guy carried on talking to her for sooooo much longer than I would have, while being super calm and professional, what a legend!
I can't believe this person kept their cool for so long, I would have sent her to Fukoffville after a minute, or so.
As someone who has never been married, I can't understand the entitlement of the betrothed.
As someone who has been married, I can't either.
Load More Replies...What was the point of continuing on that conversation once the person started being rude?
The first comment is right, resin printing isn't that easy, the cleaning process takes forever and they are MUCH more expensive than those wedding things
As soon as she started to question the price after she was given a deal she wanted another deal and then she wanted them for free! She didn't know this person who had a business to operate. I would have suggested she take her business some place else and that would have been very restrained for the situation. 😇
Exactly. If it's so easy, let her do it herself!
Load More Replies...Person I’ve never met I deserve this for free!! I’m an entitled twat so free or you’re an ass
What an absolute lunatic. I wasn't aware that 3D printing took this long though.
I didn't either. It was interesting to learn all that goes into printing an item. I can see now why 3D printed items are so expensive.
Load More Replies...Bit unprofessional to propose a 50% discount. 54 solid days of printing!!! His entire business is blocked for two months with this one single client that may flake out and cancel their order midway (or discover they don't have the budget after all)?! That seems an unacceptable business risk. I think doubling the price when a wedding is involved is a reasonable thing: It's danger money. There's so many that go wrong/ get cancelled/ ... and in the end you get abused half the time. There's no problem giving your happy and nice client 20--25% money back at the end; I've done that for several bespoke jobs. You estimate high (higher if you're not feeling love for the job), budget for mishaps and if you feel substantially overpaid (no mishaps!) you return a part... Not standard, but simple.
To be fair it was a referral from his best friend so I can understand the discount in that sense.
Load More Replies...This guy was plain daft. After her first "I think you should do it for free," he should have just blocked her and refused to engage in any more conversations. I don't think she deserved any explanations as to how hard it was to do and what costs were involved.
I have read so many similar stories where these bridezillas believe they are entitled to whatever they want from whomever they want. I actually feel sorry for the groom in every instance because if this is how they treat complete strangers, and often friends as well, that marriage is going to go full Dyson bagless suckland. Better have that prenup in place...
Here's how you reply to someone who is out of your price range - 'Thanks for the info but I can't afford that right now, I'll just have to do without. Thank you for your time'
No way would I have wasted so much time with this person. Was this guy really being polite, or had nothing else to do? (Me : "Sorry, my nails need filing!")
Here is a tip for Brides: That stuff ends up in the garbage can. Nobody expects a gift from your wedding, so throwing out anything more than a meal and a piece of cake is wasteful and unnecessary.
That's one of the main reasons to have customized doodads at events: To show everybody that you are loaded.
“The longer I live, the more I am inclined to the belief that this earth is used by other planets as a lunatic asylum.” - George Bernard Shaw
These foul mouthed children have no idea what the future holds. Any one of these people they have asked for something and been turned down may at some time, years from now, be your boss, married to your boss, or have some power to turn off your electricity. Mwahahaha.
Never heard of 3d printing before. Cool. Like how they built that lady in
A quote from my ex-boss back in the 90s, "We could give you the 50% discount if you come clean the toilets for a year". A fairly decent person but not a pleasant fella if you mess with his bottomline.
Cheeky bstrd. This really fks me off when brides decide to mail people and ask for things free, most with astronomical prices. Get off your high horse and PAY like everyone else does. He was kind enough to offer her 1000 off, especially as he had no clue who she is, she's a complete stranger. The audacity of women simply because they are getting married never fails to make me feel physically sick and god forgive me I often hope their day turns into a shitfest, same as the bride who demanded her guests pool together and pay for her honeymoon!! Gifts no cheaper than 450 dollars plus she had higher price tags for gifts, example 450 will ensure you get included in the photos, 500-1000 will get you a seat at the brides table !!what planet do these women live on and how spineless are the men that are daft enough to marry them. Self entitled prat's who probably never worked a day in their lives or put themselves out to help anyone if it didn't benefit them.
this is not about the audacity of women getting married. this is about the audacity of this woman getting married

Poor bloke that psycho is about to marry. Not all women are decent human beings.
@ Paul Mitchell - Yes, I feel very bad for him, unless -- and this would be pure justice! -- he is just as vile and horrible as she is.
