It's not only very important to get the vaccine because of your safety and life but to protect other people's health as well. There are a lot of people who can't get the vaccine because of severe allergic reactions, weakened immune system, and many other reasons. "Fully vaccinated and it feels soooo good. We are extremely lucky and privileged to have access to Covid-19 vaccines in the U.S. right now. Unfortunately, that’s not the case everywhere... and as we know, the health of one of us affects all of us. "Getting the vaccine came down to one thought process for me, I simply would rather risk potential side effects of a vaccine than risk lives by catching or spreading covid. It’s normal to be cautious when something new comes along. Wanting to know more is a good thing — it means you want to be informed. To ask questions and hear from others who have similar questions as you do, go to vaxbecause.org"

"Was thrilled to get my first vaccine shot at Essex County College and Essex County’s COVID Vaccination Center today.
Thanks to County Executive Joe DiVincenzo for extending the invitation to have me here today.
You know, the science tells us that these vaccines are safe and effective at preventing COVID infection and serious illness.
They are the best weapon we have -- along with mask-wearing, social distancing, hand-washing, and other measures recommended by the CDC and public health officials -- to combat the deadly pandemic that has been ravaging our country and our communities for the past year.
And if enough people get the vaccine, they have the potential to help end this once and for all.
But the thing I found most reassuring of all today were all the volunteers and medical professionals working here.
They are taking care of people here. You may have questions about the vaccine, about any possible side effects, about its effectiveness.
They are listening. They are answering questions. They are taking the time to talk about the vaccine and how it can help you.
So, if you’re eligible, I encourage you to sign up for an appointment and come down here to the Essex County COVID Vaccination Center."

Sarah Michelle
"I am proud to say that I am fully vaccinated against #covid_19. As someone who suffers from severe asthma, and has been hospitalized because of it, this last year has been really scary. But I didn’t just get this shot for me. I got it for all the immune-compromised people. I got it for every person that lost a loved one due to covid. I got it, in the hopes that all kids can return safely to school. I got it, for all people who found themselves suddenly unemployed due to covid, in the hopes they can get back on their feet. I got it for all the families that in a moment, found themselves food insecure and worried where their next meal would come from. I got it because I miss my friends and family and hugs. This wasn’t just about me. It’s about all of us. Thank you to everyone that made this day possible for me."
I was going to ask why call her "Sarah Michelle" when everyone knows her as Sarah Michelle Gellar and she clearly hasn't dropped it since her username is "sarahmgellar"... but I clicked in just to check and I guess that's the name she's using now. Does Twitter not let you change your handle? Too bad.

"I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine pod near the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Downtown I am so proud of and grateful to the doctors, nurses, and medical staff who are wading through the red tape and confusion of the distribution of these very important vaccines. I am excited to have received my dosage and look forward to the booster. The doctors told me 10,000 applications were received by Mount Sinai right after the state released this batch of vaccines. Here’s to the advancement of science and a heartfelt thanks to those working on the vaccines. We are all hoping for an end to this pandemic. To allay your concerns that I jumped the line know that I am in the approved age group for this batch of vaccines and I waited in line with others"

Jonathan Van Ness
"In NY, where I’m working the vaccine program expanded to include people w pre-existing conditions, being HIV+ is one of the conditions that allow folks to be vaccinated, so if you’re HIV+ please check your state's guidelines to see if you’re eligible and get vaccinated against covid-19! There was a list of other conditions that allow for vaccination so wherever you are check the lists and see if you can get in line. Some places like Cali will give leftover doses but just see what’s happening in your area. Had I not been looking online every day I wouldn’t have seen, so def get involved with your search. This was my first shot and other than minor soreness in my arm had no side effects and will get my second shot in a few weeks. Each state has different guidelines so you’ll want to look into yours. Definitely need patience, resolve, access to the internet to do this so plz if you can help others obtain information or access plz so that. Biggest Hug & Happy Monday! Also, I know my stronger mask should go under, but I didn’t want to take my mask off to put on the stronger under, so I just layered them as was! Stay safe xx"

"Protect the ones you love.
My doc told me I qualified (fortunately?) cause of crap I don’t need to get into. You may too. And if you click those state and city websites over and over there are appointments available. Do it and let’s get back into those too tightly seated New York theaters and have actors spit all over premium seat priced patrons. The internet tells me I will grow calf hooves from my torso, but that may take a few days, I’ll keep you posted."
Amanda Kloots
"I just got my COVID 19 vaccine! I went to a site and waited in my car until all appointments were over in hopes that they had any extra vaccines. I was fully prepared to be turned away, but they said they had enough tonight for everyone waiting. I cannot tell you how emotional I was and still am right now. I had Elvis beside me and Live Your Life playing in the car. THANK YOU to the National Guard that was here today volunteering since 5:30 am administering the Pfizer vaccine to willing arms. I have been terrified since Nick has passed, as a single mother, of getting this virus and now I am one step closer to safety. Thank you to my friends @laurencpresent and @thompoint0 for driving and being by my side."

"I got the shot!
I was thrilled to be over 65 for the first time in my life! I was eligible for the Covid Vaccine and planned to get right in line!
I lived in NYC since Covid began and my husband Bill had been very sick with Covid this Christmas. Thank God he is well on the mend and I felt miraculously spared!
After trying for 4 hours online Thursday to schedule an appointment on many state and city sites, I gave up! Hospitals and health clinics had either run out of the vaccine, were not taking any more appointments, or had just closed down their websites.
I noted 1 place downtown at 125 Worth Street near City Hall, which advertised they were open 24/7! But their first availability was in late March as every spot was snapped including everything thru the night!
So discouraging!
I was getting ready for bed and wondered... “Why would so many people be desperate enough to drag themselves out of bed in the middle of the night to go down to desolate Wall Street to get their vaccine? Especially on a weeknight! Then I figured NOT everyone would because it’s always a lot harder to get up and go than it is to make an appointment! And beds, I reasoned, are way too comfortable!
So I called Susan, my next-door neighbor and together we drove down in our pajamas at 2 am to Worth Street. We didn’t pass a car or person on the way and the city was eerily beautiful! We parked right in front."
Norma Kamali
"When you are 75 there are many benefits and one was I was able to get my Covid vaccine today!! Ryan Lynch administered the Jab!! @solisshealth"

it's sad the need to see the artists to get vaccinated to push other to do so. when our parent were young they didn't need that! they saw what polio could do and rush to get the vaccine. now people saw people die and still question it
If it takes celebrities to do it, I'm happy! There were celebs from all walks of life and political views. If you'll take advice from the Internet, take it from Loretta Lynn!

Vain refusal to see they are benefiting from the efforts of others. I'm still trying to work up the courage to get mine but I'm gonna try next week. I hate needles, bleh!
Hate them too and can honestly say I didn't feel a thing.

Load More Replies...@kjorn That's because in our time, development and administration of vaccines was implemented with ethics and prudence. They'd have caretakers and (or) recipients sign a document with the same explanation that the results are uncertain, and firmly establish the same patients are receiving the vaccine at their own risk only after the vaccine is considered vastly effective. Additionally, there was no value placed on specific life, no prejudice in vaccination. One vaccine for everyone receiving the vaccine, and the vaccine was advisable until and unless a person might enter into a social program where and when attendance governs the amount of financial support the facility receives placing school-aged children and blue collar workers at the focus of mandatory vaccination. That is messing with the livelihood and sustainability of future generations placing certain demographics at risk, and might be considered conspiracy, and has to be handled as a threat to society and territory.
I hope it all works out for the people who have taken it. But for now i have my doubts as long as people that are fully vaccinated keep getting COVID i am going wait 5 years like the CDC said it would take to know the real result. If you get it great good for you if you want to be a guinea pig but dont look down on others because they don't want to lets not forgot the first polio vaccine had to be recalled because it was killing people. Also the 1976 swine flu vaccine that killed people had to be pulled and the rsv vaccine that killed many children so it was pulled. The shot hasnt been proven its all still theory and really getting it only protects you not the people around you. Also i am not afraid to die i have never understood people's fear of death it is a part of life.
For me it isn't fear of death but fear of the awful suffering beforehand. You can still get COVID-19 but the symptoms are much less severe.
