37 Cats Who Got Stung By Bees And Wasps
The famous quote 'curiosity killed the cat,' and a common expression about cats having nine lives is there for a reason. The small felines tend to get themselves into the most curious, dangerous and improbable situations. And it is quite a paradox, that they do so because of a basic survival instinct to assess the environment for predators and prey. Although since most of the curious cats spend their days as our house pets, the assessment can mean jumping into boxes, unrolling toilet paper and scratching your favorite couch. Or in this case, it's silly cats who got stung by bees.
Cat stung by a bee can look quite hilarious, but it's important to know how to help them out as well. Depending on where your mischievous and funny cat was stung, it can be a simple inconvenience or a life-threatening situation.
Removing a stinger is done the same as it would be for a person – by scraping the stinger instead of squeezing it. If your cat was stung in the mouth or throat, which can happen if it tried to eat the bee, seek veterinary help immediately. A bee sting swelling in throat region can suffocate your cat. Ok, but I'm pretty sure most of them get stung by a wasp, not a bee. Also I remember how scared I was for a cat I was taking care of, when it got stung by a wasp, so I don't find those very funny. (Fortunately that cat didn't swell nor had any allergic reaction so it ended up ok)

It's not funny when you know that the swelling can block their airpipe and kill them pretty quick. And the cats don't even need to be stung in the throat for that, in the mouth or ON the throat is enough if they are sensible and the swelling gets big. So, I didn't find it amusing one bit, I just wondered if those people thought of taking their cats to a vet at some point or if they were just interested in their little pictures to put on the net.
You have a really high opinion of your own intellect. You seriously think that you are the only person who thought to get these cats seen by a vet? Sad, man. Sad.

Wow, I had no idea that animals would swell like that from a sting. Poor babies. Stings are so painful! My dogs go after anything that flies! Not in a killing spree, but just to see what it is. lol Love our FIDS.

It's funny how most of the pics show stings on same areas- the cheeks, chin, paws. None on the bodies. Does this mean that the bees sting when we try to hit or touch them etc? Those stung places are moveable areas

To be honest, the cats actually deserved it. They are always torturing their prey to death and this time the prey fought back.
I know I shouldn't have laughed but some of their pose makes me chuckle. Poor babies.

I didn't find any of them amusing! Having been stung by bees and yellow jackets, it's no laughing matter.
One of my Russian blue cat got bite on his paw...There was infection getting out of it and plus,it looked like a hole trough a paw...Was it a bite or...A bullet hole? o.o
