I saw some dog drawings one day, and I thought, "Hmm... it would be fun to make a centaur from a dog. I bet someone did it already!". I googled and found none. Surprise! So I decided to do a couple of mythical creatures known as battledoges. I thought of a fantasy world where these cartoon dogs could exist and what professions they might have. Soon I ended up with a whole pack of cool drawings. I posted the cartoon characters, and people liked them. I was very surprised.
Things got rolling, and now I`m collaborating with amazing guys from Punga Miniatures, and soon we will launch a Kickstarter for D&D "The Deck of Many" battle dogs project by Cardamajigs. Also, there is an idea for a tabletop game.
And it all started from a simple and goofy 'what if...' idea of these mythical animals.
So folks, if you are inspired to do something unique, do it and share it with the world.

Load More Replies...Corgis were actually used by faeries as war steeds and beasts of burden in Welsh folklore.

i read it as "librarian" instead of "barbarian" and when i looked at the doggo i thought that was a really badass librarian
I would make sure to always return my books on time
Load More Replies...Huskies are tough! We had a Siberian Husky and he had the mentality of a cat...we were there to serve him and he just did what he wanted to do. He would have fit this picture exactly!
Oh dang man I didn't know it was possible, but you just make Huskies "cooler". Tehee
As an Alpha husky, the tail should be up curved over his back. But beautiful nonetheless.
That would be one hell of a helmet, too! Would the helmet jaw be hinged to show the teeth during battle?
I have goods if you have coin. *Ahem* I am down here good Sir! *Harrumph*
Oh my lord, you're right! He looks just like him! 0_o All I can see and think are Princess Bride references now...
Load More Replies...Also has an extra set of limbs. I doubt they were going for anatomical correctness. :P
Load More Replies...Are these going to be prints, too? Please? Send toSF cons, make oodles of money, please manypeople. Then do cats!
I think it's a different language that says that. Took me awhile to understand what it meant till I found it out it's a slang word for that breed
Load More Replies...Oh, YEAAAAHHH! Can't up this one more than once. Unfortunately. These just keep getting better!
There is a D&D race page for canitaurs with the stats n' stuff
Load More Replies...With a job and a past, and therefore a higher risk of aggression because of it - don't like it, don't get the breed.
Load More Replies...Looks more like a pitbull (such precious sweet babies though!) bulldogs have flat faces & short stumpy bodies & necks. They’d do VERY poorly in a dog fight….
Looks more like a Pitbull (but they’re such sweet snuggly babies!) Bulldogs have squished faces.
Oh!! this one reminds me of Dartacán y los tres Mosqueperros!! (Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds) Loved it!
Woof woof woof and woof woof woof, muskahounds are always ready 😂
Load More Replies...they got the uncomfortable to look at pants coreect. They remind me of boy's ballet tights
This one is fascinating...four legged human body and hands, canine head and tail.
He has human skulls, but the Bulldog has dog skulls....hmmmmmmmmm....
He looks like Dandelion from Witcheer XD (at least clothes color XD )
The left-handed luteist. I would have chosen a Beagle, though. They sing prettily.
I love how on the prev page the dogs were right-handed but on this page the dogs are sometimes left-handed. For example this akita is playing a left-handed instrument ( unless this instrument is usually played this way? Idk)
I think (going by guitars) you string it so you can pick/strum with your 'working' hand. My guitar was strung backwards for most people.
Load More Replies...A great dane would be a wizard, though. These are really well done.
Love it but wish he didn't have that Scooby Doo look on his face - Great Danes are actually very dignified looking dogs!
My Dane was a lovable idiot who perpetually thought i needed to be herded somewhere. I'm not sure how effective a dane spell would be! Could all turn out to be hilarious mistakes!
I am not to sure about their marksmanship... Their eyes often go into two different directions.
They can shoot two ways at once, obviously. Because that's how aiming works.
Load More Replies...Nooo. They look like they have terrible depth of vision. And most pugs I've met look cross-eyed.
ARBALIST (crossbowman) An arbalist, also spelled arbelist, is one who shoots a crossbow. (I learned a new word today!) The arbalest (also arblast) was a late variation of the crossbow coming into use in Europe during the 12th century. (Make that two!)
"The man aside", Oprichnik, was the term given to a member of the Oprichnina, an organization established by Tsar Ivan the Terrible to govern a division of Russia from 1565 to 1572. (wiki)
All of these pictures are amazing! You, sir, have a wonderful talent! Well done! 😃😄☺️😊🤯
Anyone else notice that this artist has a liking for skulls?
The Borzoi is the top of the dog food chain... Appropriate as the dog of death...
Creating unique characters is all about imagination and experimentation. When I thought of dogs as centaur-like creatures, I couldn't believe no one had done it before.
Inspiration can come from anywhere, and just like those rare and extraordinary breeds of dogs, sometimes the most unexpected ideas stand out the most.
Perhaps the artist was going for more of the centurion look?
Load More Replies...These are super cool and I love the artwork, but for some reason I cannot define, I find the additional appendages unnerving.
You are used to the Earth-type of 4 limbs. Being a fantasy/SF type, the 6 limbs don't bother me. Just out of curiosity, do the 4-legged, winged dragon depictions also bother you, or is it only the mammalian types that do?
Load More Replies...I am SO incredibly happy that someone finally included a Spaniel!!! It's so rare anyone does!
They are amazing just the way they are! What an interesting idea you have here! Keep up the good work! Maybe one day we'll see another animal :D
"I saw a dog one day and I thought, "Hmm... it would be fun to make a centaur from a dog."" You did good, only that a centaur has a human head. Centaur-5b...950030.jpg
His art, his vision. I think they're awesome. (And awwww-some as well, but that's me.)
Load More Replies...Ok, now I just need a movie/series based on these characters, then I can die in peace.
The creepiest thing about centaurs is they have two rib cages. Centaurs really don't make any anatomical sense to me. Why not have an exoskeleton? Mammalian bodies have so many weak points.
If I remember correctly, centaurs arose from somebody seeing one of the Eastern nomad tribes coming for them hell-for-leather, and didn't bother to stick around to catch the details. So what got reported to (Ancient Greece, I believe) was the man/horse hybrid. And as far as thee human face--there's a reason why ugly is called 'horse-faced'! (I love horses, but pretty-faced they are not by human standards.)
Load More Replies...I was thinking the same, I was a little disappointed. Needs a faithful loving Labrador 🙂
