Ad Campaigns Tell How A Dog Can Transform A Person’s Life (16 Pics)
Most of us know how awesome doggos are. Having adorable dogs in your life or just being near one lifts up our mood and makes us smile. So it’s no wonder that when it comes to fighting loneliness, there are plenty who suggest getting a pet dog (or two, or three) to keep the blues at bay.
The dog food company Pedigree is known for its ad campaigns that focus on the positive sides of dog adoption and highlighting how having a canine in your life helps you to be the best version of yourself.
In short, doggos = good; more doggos = better. And that’s the kind of mathematics most of us can get behind.

The idea behind these creative ads that good boys help fight loneliness isn’t something theoretical or said just to sell more dog food. Some scientists have found links between owning a pet and feeling more buoyant and less depressed or anxious.
HelpGuide explains that playing with cute dogs or cats calms and relaxes us and suggests that pet owners visit the doctor less often. What’s more, owning a pet such as a doggo helps you move and exercise more, which has obvious health benefits. Potentially, of course. You won’t get healthier if you feed your dog snacks and let it laze on your couch all day long.
A dog makes your life happier. Adopt

Owning pets also makes you (potentially) more social: you meet other pet owners in parks and elsewhere. Naturally, you start talking. About their doggo. About your doggo. About the weather. About yesterday’s weather. What you’re having for tea today. You know, the important stuff in life.
A dog changes the way you think about someone

Furthermore, taking care of pets creates structure in your life because you have to feed them at the same time every day. Not to mention going for walkies. And watching your favorite TV show on Netflix and chilling under a warm blanket together. However, some researchers believe that it’s not yet possible to establish a direct correlation between pet ownership and better psychological health: the benefits are there, but they’re not as big as we’d like to think.
Company for the rest of the year. Adopt

Most senior adults only receive the visit of their families for important dates, like on their birthdays or Christmas. We want to change it by adopting a dog, so they could be in companionship all the rest of the year, all the time.

Load More Replies...I never had a pet growing up and I still don't, but in my apartment complex we have a bunch of stray cats and it kind of makes me happy when I come home from work or go to leave in the morning and see them laying on my porch. To me, that means they trust me enough and comfortable enough to relax there. I think pets are a good thing to have because when you are young, they teach you to respect life and when you are older, they offer companionship.
Having a pet is a wonderful thing, especially as a child. I grew up with dogs and cats (we had always at least 2 dogs and 3-4 cats around) and I cannot imagine having had it any other way. Because it taught me love, kindness and compassion - not just to animals but also to people. And it bought tons of joy along the way :)
Load More Replies...Ummmm.... some of those are kind of messed up... the guy with a stick? The dog didn't change him from an attacker to a nice person. The guy on the ledge? Not cool.
I think the context of the guy with the stick that in the first he is an attacker and in the second he is playing with the dog, the purpose of the stick has changed. And the second one is he is going from suicide to rescuing the dog, both are about changed perspective, look closer at the intention it is portraying .
Load More Replies...An important thing that I think not a lot of these types of ads address is that a dog is a pretty big commitment and if you get one without doing a lot of research on what that breed needs, and you just adopt it out of impulse when you aren't prepared for the amount of work it takes to train it, things can easily get out of hand.
Could someone explain the one with the guy with a club and the woman? I don't really get it, he still has a club and is looking at the woman, the dog doesn't really change that.
I dislike that one. Predators often use props (like puppies) to make themselves seem harmless.
Load More Replies...Humans and dogs are symiotic and have been for thousands of years, we need them as much as they need us, and what an amazing bond we can have, I have 2 rescue dogs and they are my fur babies, walking them makes is so easy to chat to complete strangers, they break down barriers.
Good grief, there are far too many being negative, looking at it with a bad attitude, relax people enjoy the photos, think about the message to adopt, and change your life for the better, would be good to have a post, with people that have pets, they can tell us how the adoption has changed their life, I have had, cats and dogs all adopted, my life has changed for the better, my pets have given me, more than I have given them, pampered pet, is an understatement in my home, love works both ways, please adopt !!!
Load More Replies...I love dogs. BUT a guy with a dog and a potential bludgeon? No, I'm still gonna be ready for danger. Why? I love dogs, but humans? Not so much!
It seems that one error, a huge stick rather than an ideal size, tsk; tsk, a mountain made from a pebble !!!
Load More Replies...What do you think, that the photos were made without the dog and then the dog edited in them, or the photos made with the dog in them and then edited out?
doggos = good; more doggos = better = more money for Pedigree. So where's the "powerful" message here??
The powerful message, my friend is please adopt, food must be carefully selected, as you would for your food, I do not trust all companies, for my pets, or myself !!!
Load More Replies...This is so true of me and my dog. Shilo is my Best friend and when we are together I always feel so stress free special and loved. I have always felt that way around all the dogs I've had. I am a depressive person usually and I am severely obese. A doctor once asked me how can someone who weighs 25 stones (350 pounds) have no heart problems and a near perfect cholesterol level. I told him I have a dog that I spend a lot of time with and share a deep and loving bond with. He just said that's it. Dogs are amazing for doing that. He just said what I already knew. Every day my dog saves my life. I was suicidal when I lost my last dog. I was always very down anyway but this tipped me over the edge. Thankfully along came Shilo and I am better now. I love him so much.
Dogs are the best. Cannot live without them. I prefer them over people most of the times. Lol
I also prefer animals over people, love and honesty from pets, not from people, sad but true !!!
Load More Replies...In that one picture are they saying "If you hunt women get a puppy?" Disturbing
No, it's saying that a guy by himself with a stick is sketchy, but with a dog, he's probably just playing fetch.
Load More Replies...its the dogs...he takes it home with him. cheer up ! the glass is half full
Load More Replies...I'm gonna be that person to point out that the main image on this post (jogging one) is misleading: There have been many a serial killer/murderer that have unfortunately been loving to their dogs but involved their dogs in the deaths of innocent people. So, still be careful of random people, even if they have a dog. Otherwise, great/fun campaign
The one with the beagle on the ledge honestly confused the c**p out of me for a minute. Mainly because I did NOT understand why someone would take their dog out on a ledge like that... I do get it now but I'm not sure if that's any better.
And here I am wishing my cat wouldn't stand up, walk a few feet away, and sit back down whenever I try to pet her.
The one on the ledge is a bit weird though... Still not ok if you're dog is there ;)
I perceived that as : oh god no , suicidal , then : ohhh rescuing a dog, ok,, hope it goes well.

Ummm like Srsly I cannot live without a fuggin dog!! All my life I've had a dog!! I used to have one that would never growl or bark ( except for once when she saved my brother :3) but one day we took to the vet coz she was having a puppy, the friggen vet did something wrong and "accidentally" killed her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not just dogs, virtually any animal makes a good company; animals bring the best out of people, hurting them, abusing them the worst. And please, do not think of them just from the selfish point of view....going to a shelter, adopting and saving a pet's life makes you feel great.
All my pets have been adopted, each one, fabulous, adoption is the best because there is too many, cats and dogs, that need a loving home, with my experience, I feel the adopted ones know they have a second chance, mine were & are so loving they completed my life, to this day, I have been blessed, many times !!!
I'd love to have a dog, but partner is so allergic, it would have to be him or the dog. I'd also have a very hard time when the dog died before I did
If you are unable to adopt a dog, but have the money to buy one, there are some breeds that have hair, rather than fur, I may be wrong, but google for information, nonallergic
Load More Replies...I'm proud of Pedigree for it's research in dog /human research. However, I do agree with the comment about Pedigree being a dangerous food for dogs. There are of course, many commercial pet food s that are out there that are equally dangerous. If you want to insure that you are feeding your pet nutritious healthy food , then make your own from scratch. Always use organically raised meats and vegetables. Don't forget to do a health of animal check at the vets twice a year. This comment is from a rancher that has four Blue healers.
I have a dog and a cat, and though they can be trying at times, I still love them, and my life is better with them in it. But I don’t buy Pedigree.
Never say never, I am sure u do not, dislike dogs, perhaps you have not been with a nice one !!!

I'm against both Pedigree and Royal Canin and alike. Their "awesome" food is grain based. Cause you know, dogs and cats eat bread all day long. If you don't uderstand the above, please read the ingredients on those cans and dry food. Campaign asweome, food provider terrible.
1. Pedigree is trash. 2. The 'dogs are good for mental health' always assumes the person is a man. I have a dog and walking her is a daily minefield. I have been assaulted, sexually harassed, threatened, and meet with male aggression regularly. Its even worse if they are dog owners - for some reason even breeds are heavily gendered, with men going for pitbulls and other heavy breeds, to further their dominance of public spaces no doubt. I don't care if these dogs have a good temperament, the owners often don't and its just terrifying. If you are a woman living with PTSD in an urban area, chances are a dog won't improve your mental health overall. Its so sad that it's like this. But if you do have a dog, don't feed her pedigree.
First of all, if kids grow up and leave home, a pet is a good idea, however, I strongly believe kids should grow up with a pet, they learn a lot !!!

Dogs do a lot to contribute to global warming! Why do you keep seeing such stupid campaigns? After all, dogs and cats eat meat! and meat emits huge amounts of CO2 when it's produced! There are other animals you can keep indoors that don't pollute or destroy the environment! Why Dogs and cats Why should it be good? Who gave pet owners the right to decide the deaths of thousands of birds and small rodents hunted by cats and dogs? Let's start treating the Planet Earth with respect from small steps, e.g. let's stop breeding cats and dogs first!

This is SO SMART of Pedigree! Yes, it will allow them to sell more dog food, but they're also promoting something that is a social good. Hats off to their marketing people! (It makes me long to have a doggo!)
Marketing is fine, however, I strongly advise people to check the ingredients of dry or wet pet food, you do not simply, trust the companies as marketing will say anything to sell !!!
