95Kviews
Motherhood is hard and definitely not always glamorous but in a recent couture shoot Rachel McAdams proved that motherhood can be sexy.
Clad in Versace and breast pumps the new mother showed that while she is a glamorous actress for her being a mom comes first. The glowing actress posed for the cover of Girls.Girls.Girls magazine and was photographed by founder Claire Rothstein. Previously McAdams has kept her personal life mostly private, which is why her pregnancy reveal in November was a surprise to most.
According to the photographer Rothstein, between shots, McAdams “was expressing/pumping as still breastfeeding. We had a mutual appreciation disagreement about who’s idea it was to take this picture but I’m still sure it was hers which makes me love her even more.”

“I know not all moms can breastfeed, and not all babies latch, but when it does work out, celebrate it. It’s natural, beautiful, and f**king hard work. So whether you’re breastfeeding, pumping, or doing one or both, own it, document it, and help normalize it. This photo of Rachel McAdams was taken by @clairerothstein for @girls.girls.girls.magazine, mine was taken in my office while in the middle of teaching because my breasts were about to explode. It’s not glamorous, and ironically we are both in plaid, but I needed to remember that moment”

And McAdams isn’t the only famous woman seeking to normalize this aspect of motherhood

Each to their own, and if this is what she wanted to do, then cool, but I'm personally not a fan of needing to photograph and post every aspect of being a mother - I worked and breastfed and pumped but did not feel the need to do this in front of my colleagues - this is very different from breastfeeding in public which is far more discreet than a pump hanging off your exposed breasts - this trend of obsessively needing to photograph everything and put it out there is kind of puzzling to me!
I think it is about normalizing the process.
For me this doesn't normalise it, it is already normal. For me there is a difference between a celebrity making a point of taking a break to go and pump, and discussing the need for this, and posting photographs of themselves doing it - it sensationalises an otherwise perfectly ordinary process.
AMEN!!!!!!!!!
Are you a fan of photographing women breasts' as a sexual object then? Because all the time you encounter them portrayed in this way. That's why I'm happy to see something different.
Well spoken. Thank you.
Some times we should keep things private... this was one of those times.
"I will probably NEVER view her as anything else but 'the gal with breast pumps hanging off her chest" Oh, come on! She's a very talented ans successful actress...
Daria B - Isn't it my right to view people as I want to view them and not as you think I should view them? If you don't agree, I can respect that... but I would never put you down for your opinion.
Daria - Why do you feel the need to control how other people think? Yvonne never said a word about Rachel's talents or accomplishments, YOU DID. I think it was your intention to put her down simply because she was the one you chose to comment on - nobody else. Why don't you try the respect thing that you so much want from others.
Yeah, you have the right, but why would you diminish a person's talent and accomplishments just because of one photo? Also, it was not my intention to put you down, it was an invitation to respect her more because, just like you and I struggled for our own careers, so did she.

Isn’t that sort of what this is trying to address? Women can be more than one thing. Breastfeeding isn’t so unusual that it should be her only defining characteristic.
I don't like it, so I downvoted. Don't get me wrong, I support breast feeding, I just don't like the photo of it. Quite similar to taking a dump, it is very natural but I never enjoy the photograph of it.
Whoa ok, you don't like the picture, that's fine, but comparing breastfeeding with "taking a dump" is disgusting. Do you compare eating with that too? Pumping is still breastfeeding and although I don't think there are many women who would do so in public, this is not the message here! Calm down haters! The intention is to make people more aware about breastfeeding and therefore to challenge the many prejudices people have about it. They're not trying to send women pumping on the streets lol. But women do it IN ORDER FOR THEIR BABIES TO EAT, get used to it.
"Calm down"? My words is merely one third compared to yours. Hahaha. And yes, you are entitled to do what you want to your body, especially with pumps, but I also cannot understand your urge to show it off. Hence, downvote
You're a retard. Pumping is not the same as feeding. You don't have to pump in public. Yet you also don't have to feed your baby with your tits in public either. Should have taken care of that before you leave the house. Also i agree with the other guy... peeing is natural but you cant do it in public. So get used to people disagreeing and try to not have a total meltdown you cunt.
Except that babies don’t eat poop.
Actually I think they do🤔
