These Bootleg Avengers Are So Bad They Got Sold Out Immediately
With the recent release of Infinity Wars, it seems that everyone has got Avengers fever! And of course, there is more than just the superhero movie itself to get excited about. There are video games, trading cards, cosplay costumes, and that classic of classics – action figurines.
With so much business potential out there, it’s almost inevitable that the market will be flooded with bootlegs and fakes, with unscrupulous merchants slapping the Avengers name on pretty much anything for a few extra bucks. These superhero figurines are different, though. Created by Jeff Wysaski as part of the Obvious Plant project, they are another example of the fake flyers, signs, and products placed out in the world to give a little whimsy and absurd humor to us all.
“I was somewhat bored with these more traditional humor avenues, so I started looking for something new,” Wysaski told Fast Company. “Late last year, I hit on the idea of ‘street humor’—for lack of a better term. I’d done a bit of these funny pranks in the past, but the more I thought about it, the more ideas I had, so I felt the project warranted it’s own name and website.”
The fake Avengers characters have become an instant hit, selling out quickly despite a $30 dollar price tag for ‘Fedora Ron’ (it comes without Ron and is therefore just a hat). I would quite willingly part with $40 for Detective Horse! Scroll down to check the soon-to-be-famous characters out for yourself, and let us know what you think. Here’s how people reacted to the action figures:

Han, I didn't understand "flag the moderators or the general community". Forgive my ignorance, but could you explain?
Load More Replies...Knighty Knight looks like the Elite Knight armour set in Dark Souls.
I'm all for Detective Horse and his Sherlock style pipe. I've seen a 'Robert Cop' online instead of 'Robo Cop'. I'd buy that for a dollar..... ;) (hopes a Robo Cop fan gets my Mum Joke.
that's not a Mum joke, that's a citation of the best movie of the 80s
Load More Replies...I love them! And I want a Greg too please. It's just tussle after another for these guys!
The Incredible Fella does look like the Hulk...circa the 80s, anyway!
I looked on his shop website but all the Revengers were sold out
"The Revengers" was an ersatz Avengers in comics for decades in various forms. It's actually difficult to tell where it all began. I doubt anyone could enforce a trademark on it if there was one.
Detective Horse, that's not a character of famous actor Bojack Horseman?
My favourite superhero is The Incredible Fella. I mean, come on, hes just so op.
This is absolutely hilarious and downright dumb whoever out these on the shelves I love the one Fedora Ron (fedora Ron NOT INCLUDED) LOL
Dear Internet guy, This needs to be a movie/cartoon series now. No, NOW! I can already relate to like 3 of the characters. Regards, Stellermatt
