Has anyone tried this? Or know the science as to why it works? Just curious...
Hey, I close my left ear when the MTR is too noisy... And I thought it's funny that that works, so this is why!
Anyone else read "put deodorant on a mosquito. Bite to stop the itching."?
Deodorant? Particulary if it contains aluminium, this is very unhealthy. Heating up the bite until it is almost unbearable is safer and also effective.
I put gel deodorant on one once. It stung badly and made it hurt and itch worse. I will not try that again. Yes, I know that wasn't very smart.
Load More Replies...I use a bit of vinegar on a cotton ball, and it works very well
After bite (big bite topical in north America not sure if it's global) is literally nothing more then ammonia. I've always just dug an X in it with my finger nail. It could be a placebo effect, but its effective.
You got here first! Darnit. Itotallt agree, if one doesn't have it available, window cleaner works in a pinch if the main ingredient is ammonia.
Load More Replies...How do you hold their little bitty wings up without tearing them off and still get the deodorant on them? Then do we bite them or ourself?
And if Afterbite isn't available but window cleaner is, try it
Load More Replies...Heat is correct, it destroys the proteins the mosquito left when it bit.
I remember a friend telling me to put an X with ur nails on it and that totally works!
Mostly because your skin's burning too much to notice the itching lol
Load More Replies...Deodorant could irritate skin (says so right on the package!). I use Gold Bond, which is a mild antihistamine.
Gold Bond is the bomb!! Totally works for mosquito bites & hives. And spray deodorant def works for itching.
Load More Replies...Not as long lasting, tho. Doesn't draw out the chemical, see.
Load More Replies...Depends on the deodorant. Try Mylanta which is a type of anti heartburn medicine . ( ermm for gastric upsets , yes put it on yr skin) . An ice cube . Make a wet lump of sodi bicarbonate on the skin. It all depends sort of skin you have. Some ppl swear by a hanky with a small pile of oats , tied into a bundle, then add water dab dab dabby on yr skin. [ South East Australia is heading into summer now )
Also try dipping a spoon in warm-hot water and pressing repeatedly on the bite. Works in 15 mins!
Oldschool - salvia or salt (just rub salvia or salt on byte and relax:)
Baby powder works very well to stop skin irritation, especially for mosquito bites.
Use arnica oil instead, much more effective and less bad for your skin (deodorant can cause allergi)
"arnica oil" is a mix of hundreds of substances, and a lot of possible allergenes. dermatologically tested deodorants are very unlikely to cause allergy, for as there are clean, and only a few substances in it. nevertheless, putting deodorant on a sting is b******t (and so is the oil).
Load More Replies...Now I know how to get rid of them irritating throat tickles that brings tears in your eyes too... hmhmhm
A better explanation would be, to put your thumb in your mouth and blow. As if you were blowing up a balloon. It's the bearing down that slows your heart rate.
"Useful tricks" maybe, but how are these "hacks"? This term is nowadays used inflationary and out of context. Most of these things are pretty down to earth, no need for sensationalisn.
Interestingly, also in thus series someone systematically downvoted my posts, even so I only made a few comments. Very odd.
Load More Replies...to everyone saying these arent hacks- bro shut up pls im trying to blow on my thumb. ty gn.
Hacks? Hacks? Hacks? Just what on earth do these suggestions have to do with body hacks?
Are these body hacks for aliens who need to learn human behaviour? These aren't hacks, these are common knowledge.
