Has anyone tried this? Or know the science as to why it works? Just curious...
Hey, I close my left ear when the MTR is too noisy... And I thought it's funny that that works, so this is why!
Pores do open and close; they open in warm weather to regulate body temp. and let the sweat out, and they close to keep to body warm.
Shower yourself with ice cubes! But I think it hurts
Load More Replies...If acne is caused by hormonal dis-balance- then this won't help much. But, yes- closing or narrowing up the pores is always recommended after "opening" them up to clean. That's what I learnt during face cleaning any way.
Pores are not manholes into your body. They don't open and close completely. Only benefit of finishing off with cold water is that it makes you feel more awake.
So... Not an option when you shower before sleep, I guess.

I do this to my hair. Put it on the coldest setting and rinse my hair and close my hair follicles. Makes my hair dye last a LOT longer
In an article I read it said that pores can't open and close up like this..
I don't think this works for acne. I've been rinsing off in cold water for years to lessen static and frizz in my hair, but I still got acne.
This said nothing about a cold like a sickness...this was talking about heat opens your pores and allows them to be clean so if you turn the water to cold at the end of the shower it will close your pores.

Bollocks. Pores do not 'seal' and if anything you want to keep them open so the additional fat can escape. Acne is a result of hormonal imbalance, not the wrong kind of skin care. A cold end is refreshing and gives circulation a boost, that's it.
The wrong kind of skin care leads the way to harmful bacteria onto your skin causing acne. So, no, hormones are not the only factor.

Sounds like b******t. Just like this "body hack". This is not how the pores work, lmao.
Load More Replies...Well...cold showering at the end is helping the body to get more resistant against colds. But the pore sealing effect vanishes as soon as the skin warms up again. However, for the same effekt NEVER wash really dirty hands with warm water. This would make it much harder to get rid of the dirt.
What I would imagine it helps is to keep oils and chemicals from the soap from entering the skin. Then they are washed away by the time the pores reopen.

Now I know how to get rid of them irritating throat tickles that brings tears in your eyes too... hmhmhm
A better explanation would be, to put your thumb in your mouth and blow. As if you were blowing up a balloon. It's the bearing down that slows your heart rate.
"Useful tricks" maybe, but how are these "hacks"? This term is nowadays used inflationary and out of context. Most of these things are pretty down to earth, no need for sensationalisn.
Interestingly, also in thus series someone systematically downvoted my posts, even so I only made a few comments. Very odd.
Load More Replies...to everyone saying these arent hacks- bro shut up pls im trying to blow on my thumb. ty gn.
Hacks? Hacks? Hacks? Just what on earth do these suggestions have to do with body hacks?
Are these body hacks for aliens who need to learn human behaviour? These aren't hacks, these are common knowledge.
