Woman’s Facebook Post Perfectly Sums Up The Joy Childfree Life
The Motherhood Challenge on Facebook “challenges” mothers to post photos that make them feel proud to be a mother, and to tag other women they think are great mothers. However, not all women are thrilled by what some see as another attempt to put pressure on women to “be” a certain way. That’s why 32-year-old English comedian Ellie Taylor, who has no kids, replied with pictures of her napping with a wine bottle when she found herself tagged in this “challenge.”
“Non-Motherhood Challenge: I was nominated by myself to post five pictures that make me happy to be a non-mother,” Taylor wrote on Facebook, adding, “Such special memories.” What are your thoughts on the challenge?

Share on FacebookIt's bizarre how much hate a satirical post like this can get. (Seen several sites + comments where this has been reposted) And she probably just took pictures of her sleeping because a lot of mothers say they couldn't sleep much because the kids were up early/sick/.... People saying she is sad or she will regret this or be a bitter lonely woman in 20 years are sad themselves. I have a niece, I love her and I love spending time with her but I also love being able to bring her back to her parents after. That's enough for me and I don't want kids of my own. Everytime I tell someone I don't want kids, I get replies like: "OMG why wouldn't you want kids?", "You don't know what you're missing", "you'll change your mind!" How about people just accept other people's choices? Not everyone has the same lifegoals/dreams/wishes...
I can relate. But well, to a certain point, you stop caring about what others think. Just be yourself and be happy with your choice :)
Load More Replies...What I find interesting is that gay marriage and homosexuality/lesbianism are now widely accepted (at least in the Western civilized world) but a woman not wanting to have children, that's still a cause for major interwebs uproar. I'm having the best time not having kids, I don't have to sacrifice myself for some selfish sucker, I don't add to overpopulation, and I have plenty of spare money. As for being alone in my old age? Tell that to all of my friends who have put their parents into an old folks' home.
Seriously. Ever since I was little, I knew I never wanted kids. It's my life and my decision, and the idiots who claim that without kids your life has no meaning can go to hell.
Load More Replies...LOVE this! I would chose sleep over kids any damn day! I know people who only have kids to give their own lives meaning/purpose which to me, is far more sad than a woman knowing herself and knowing that's something she doesn't want or need to give her life meaning/purpose.
"I was nominated by myself to post five pictures" - but I see only four...
Piccard had that problem with the number of lights he saw.
Load More Replies...I never really wanted kids. I'm in my mid-40s and childless, and have no regrets. I have an great relationship with my husband... I'm very satisfied with my life. All of my friends have kids, though, and I don't think they're weird, and they don't think I'm weird. There are enough kids in the world, what's the big deal?
I've been a stay-at-home a mother of two (now grown and in college), and I'm proud of my role in their lives. I still found this freakin' hilarious. Lighten up, people!
Every time this topic comes up, the internauts seem to just lose it. What I find incredible in here is that almost everyone starts their comment with "I'm not one to judge" or something like that, and then they go one of 2 ways: they either go like "You don't know what you're missing for having kids" or "I don't want/need kids to give my life meaning". Personally, I believe both points of view are debatable, and that's because you can't argue someone's OPINION. None of what the people say in here are FACTS, they're simply one or another's person perception on what they see around them. Either way, both cases are extremely judgmental, and show a complete hypocrisy on both sides of the debate Bottom line - and I do see the irony in my next sentence :) - we would probably be way better off if we go on living our own lives in peace, and not use the internet to get rid of our own frustrations (in front of complete strangers no less).
Good for you! In a world where the two greatest threats to civilisation are climate change and overpopulation, we should celebrate as heroes all those who choose not to have kids. What is more, not having kids is a lot of fun! I have two different relatives, women, who are in their late eighties. Both decided not to have children, and have not stayed married to one person forever. Both are still loving life. Good for them.
Did some of you individuals out there even consider the possibility of these photos being totally satirical? Doesn't seem so for most of you... But please don't stop to entertain the rest of us with your gibberish! :) THANKS!
hilarious! just because you can have children doesn't mean you should! a child doesn't complete you-getting married doesn't complete you-doing what makes you happy & fulfilled is what makes you feel complete!
This made me LOL. I wouldve posted pics of me having money as well as the sleeping. I dont want kids either. My husband doesnt either. :))
No big deal. So what if you don't want children. Some women don't either by choice or because they can't. I have sons and its great they are in their 20's but it's not for everyone. Ps I get good night sleeps! It's usually work that keeps me awake at night.....
Why is it a motherhood challenge and not a fatherhood challenge? What century are we living in?
I can see from some of these negative nasty comments about this lady truly have lost all sense of their identity since having crotch fruit 🤣 lighten up jeez
I for one think it's a good idea... If however sleeping (with or without wine bottle) is her only advantage of being a non-mother... that is a little sad...
Okay. Sleeping and Alcohol? In my honest opinion that's a little sad. But thats none of my business :D
I like the hypocrisy. None of my business. Apparently it is.
Load More Replies...She can sleep. Sleep how much she wants. You don't have this luxury with kids ;)
Load More Replies...I have my three year old cat who hugs me and loves me:) feels very nice indeed.
Load More Replies...Now that I'm working myself up over some random post,.. I'm really getting tired of the parent or non-parenthood battle. Online and in real-life. Let's just say people can be happy with and without children. Ok?
Load More Replies...Lets hope you don't pass on your stupid genes to your kids. Women who choose not to have children know exactly what they are missing out on thats why I chose not to have children its not because I don't love children which I do, but not to become a deadhead narrow minded mother who thinks there is nothing else in the world than spitting out kids. Well there is alot of things in life that are just as amazing than being a mother so crawl back to your perfect domestic life and shut up
