Same locations, same outfits, same filters, generic captions, different people, who look pretty much the same.
It seems like this is the recipe for modern blogging. Being authentic turned into everything but authentic and hashtag #authentic doesn’t serve it’s purpose, rather the opposite. Melon Hideout provides beautiful shots from all around the world (or ‘globe’, if you’re not a flat earther by any chance) while at the same time acknowledges that instagram represents ‘visual romantization of our lives’. ‘Cause we need more of those (accounts)’ adds ironically. Photos are accompanied with witty captions, often reflecting social criticism. Social media and new technology took photography on the next level. Nothing is wrong with nicely staged and edited photos, but let’s not get deceived and compare our lives to romanticized versions we see online.
