Chinese Artist Creates Human Version Of Cats And Dogs, And The Result Is On Point (22 Pics)
If you have a soft spot for adorable felines (and dogs!) or traditional Chinese illustrations, we have a special treat for you today.
The Chinese artist known as Xuedaixun has a vast gallery on DeviantArt filled with impressive works of art, not the least of which are pictures of adorable cats and dogs turned into characters typically found in Chinese comics known as manhua.
Each illustration is a meticulously crafted replica that captures the same mood, pose, and colors of the original picture.
All that is left is to scroll down and see them for yourself!

You're right, this one is perfect. I'de love to look like that cat.
Oh My!! This one is beyond GORGEOUS!! This is in my top 3 Favorites, maybe even my #1. Could definitely be seen as a shapeshifter. I would love to have the picture on the right blown up and framed. I would hang it one of my walls, probably in the living room so that I would be able to look at it all the time. Just Gorgeous!!!
Now why would u give a white face to an all over black cat when in the other illustration the white cats are also white. Are u soul blind? Black is a beautiful color not just in clothes or hair
Chinese artist drew Chinese women. Not all that surprising, really.
Load More Replies...I'm thinking she should be a woman of colour- that would be exotically beautiful.
AWWWW I had a cat just like that, but he passed away years ago. I loved my grumpy fluffball.
I had a cat like that too! She was always so sweet, but we had to give her away because she and the other cats didn't get along. =(
Load More Replies...Mama Kitty so this is what you do when you disappear you sweet Fer-rial cat.
so, draw her with a rounder face :-) no one's stopping you!
Load More Replies...In the distance you hear high pitched squealing, as you listen it grows louder. You see an army on the horizon, an army of girls wearing Hetalia shirts, Naruto running towards you. The fujoshis. The fujoshis are here.
I really like this one. Their coloring is spot on. And while the first photo shows baby animals, the second shows a MUCH OLDER AND CLOSER relationship. Very nice.
They do look a bit grumpy due to their flat faces though. XD!
Load More Replies...Both beautiful. The kitty looks so cute, but also sad and dejected with a rounder face. And the woman looks pissed off like she wants to hurt someone. She also has a very narrow face compared to the kitty.
I thought I'll be the only one thinking about it. 😂
Load More Replies...I think that mast of these should have a bit less of a serious expression because for example this one the dog looks more curious where as the human version looks a lot more serious
I love that his hair has strands coming down in front, just like the wolf has two brown lines on his muzzle.
this cat looks just like my 12yo adopted cat Wendy. the sweetest cat ever!
Wonderful!! You caught the coloring and the expression perfectly. Awesome work!!!
Should look more like the MCU!Thor. ;D Kidding, of course. It's lovely.
Another good candidate for a shapeshifter. Very simple and sublime. Love it!!!
Sublime. Beaucoup d'émotions à travers le regard. C'est magnifique.
Awesome!!! I really like this one. Looks like another shapeshifter. Would love to blow this one up too, frame it and hang it with my other favorites
Absolutely Gorgeous!!! Wonderful coloring match. Would also love this one to blow up, frame and hang on a wall. This is absolutely beautiful!!!
I think she should have looked just a bit frazzled, like the cat. Kind of a I-don't-want-to-wake-up look. the girl is definitely tired-ish, but the cat is clearly not a morning kitty.
Beautiful drawing of the girl, but the only similarity is the eyes and a bit of the coloring. Still gorgeous though.
The cat looks very interested in something and the human looks kinda bored she needs more interest
yeah, the girl is more piercing and serious than "OOH, whats that?"
Load More Replies...The cat is beautiful, and I love those blue eyes. The human while not an exact match is gorgeous, and I would love to have her blown up and framed as well. She would go great with the other one, #9, that I also want to hang on my wall. Beautiful!!!!
The subjects in both of these pictures look very unhappy and a little cranky. Perhaps another shapeshifter.
I think the girl needs to be a tad bit more vicious... that cat looks angry, but the girl looks more annoyed
If the cat were angry, it's ears would be flattened. It appears to have attitude and maybe nothing more than a created look.
Load More Replies...Wow there is a theme here ur are soul blind. Every illustration is white faced and effeminate not one strong brown black or even weathered skin like perhaps the majority of people working in the sun n snow even in ur country. Anyway I guess u r a pure reflection of ur soul. On that note beautiful. Just live a little bit more expand ur world beyond just snow there is beauty in the black clothes u were find the beauty in the same color on skin
The eyes on the cat are gorgeous, and the woman is very beautiful. Looks like another shapeshifter. OMG!!! I love all of these!!! But my favorites, in order of their numbers, are #'s 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 20, and 22. Awesome Work. You should make prints, especially of the pictures on the right. I bet they would sell like crazy, I know I would buy them. You do excellent worrk.
I think the title, "Chinese Artist Reimagines Cats and Dogs as Anime Characters, and the Result is On Point" would be more accurate than calling them humans.
Obviously, there are many males inside(at least 5,6,7,8,10,15,20,21,22). Because the ancient Chinese believed in " My skin and hair are given by my parents and cannot tattoo or cut it." ordinary people cannot cut their own hair. Therefore, most of ancient Chinese males have long hair.
IDK. I think most of them have chins that are too long and noses that are too short--the "human" versions just don't esemble the animal versions all that much to me.
