German photographer Christian Vieler is back again with more hilarious photos of dogs trying to catch treats (see previous post here). The photographer captures the precise moment right before a dog gets – or misses- a treat thrown in the air, and the facial expressions of doggos, ranging from exuberance to confusion, are nothing short of epic.
Though a dog has around 100 different facial expressions, they are often quite subtle, and not so easily distinguishable for us, humans. But with the help of freeze-frame Vieler has managed to capture the many grins of these funny dogs.
“Every shoot I am looking for that specific moment when you can snap the funniest or the cutest dog grins," - Vieler told Bored Panda. "That cannot be seen without the power of freezing motion – dog’s faces with magnificent lineaments, telling us stories of panic, desire, and joy.”
Vieler, who is also a journalist, has been taking pictures of dogs since 2012, the year he purchased a new camera. “I shoot a snapshot with every dog-guest in my studio. Some pics of dogs are pretty good, some not and a few are really gorgeous.”
Be sure to check Vieler's hilariously funny dog pictures below!

It's a blue great dane. Another color of Scooby Doo. I have one and they are hilarious!
Load More Replies...Frozen in time the treat almost seems to be floating under hypnosis...
Load More Replies...Look into my eyes...look into my eyes...the eyes ..the eyes...you are now coming at me...
This dog is VERY fixated on the object. I bet he doesn't ever miss much!
Great Danes are terrible at catch! At least my two are. 😃
Load More Replies...That smile you get on your face when you see the waiter is bringing out your food...FINALLY!
Me...when i see new craft supplies or MAKEUP😁 well that question mark is emoji.
Ok finally that is not question mark any more.
Load More Replies...That face you make when you see your best friend is in the same class as you
Look at my Chihuahuas face when my husband kisses me goodnight!
Awwwee, there were so many coming, he didn't even try - bless his heart!
*Because I'm happy! Clap along, if you feel like happiness is the truth... Because I'm happy!* XD
When you've achieved the highest state of enlightenment and no longer care about corporeal reward because you know you're a good boy.
Those jowels!!! OMGoodness... they insure whatever is thrown, gets LOCKED in!
He could be. But this breed makes it look like that, the way the face is shaped. :)
Load More Replies...That middle photo: such a look of disappointment! I love how the tiny treat is captured in the corner of the frame, eagerly on it's way to cheer a very large, sad-looking dog.
He reminds me of the one Muppet that wears sunglasses and plays guitar😂
Awww, reminds me of a pic I took of my son when he was wee boy. He was kicking his football and it landed on top of a bush taller than him. He ran around looking for it :-)
Our pets can so teach us to be happy in the moment. I wish I could give you more up votes for your comment. A happy day to you!

*Oh, I'm gonna eat ya treat snack! I'm gonna eat ya for good!!!* ΧD
the thing i just put up is the dog thats going to get to him befor the treat dose
No, slightly before. The dog is clearly falling while the treat is still rising.
Load More Replies...Christian Vieler, what a wonderful collection of photos! I've enjoyed every one of them. From the wild eyes, flapping jowls and slobber and spit flying, you've caught these beautiful dogs at their funniest. Thanks for sharing with us. And (I say sarcastically) yeah - thanks for making me feel guilty about not having a shiny-coated dog, with nice white teeth who can't catch a treat if you hold it an inch from his mouth! LOL!
Would be WONDERFUL to do this for 'Adoption Dogs'. They'd get a lot of GREAT exposure this way!
Hahaha I'll tell you what I think when I've stopped laughing, oh my ribs!
Christian has done a great job with this photo collection, very interesting and funny!
