The Way This 95lbs Dog Saved This Woman From Her Boss’s Sexual Harassment Is Incredible
Not all heroes wear capes. Some just wag their tails. Recently, Bored Panda has received a confession from a girl who wanted to remain anonymous. Reading about the way her boss sexually harassed her you can’t help but think that she probably was just one step away from something really, really terrible. And that one step barrier wasn’t crossed thanks to a dog.
“I learned about this job through my father as he occasionally works for this man, and he adores my dad’s work and persona,” the girl told Bored Panda. “My boss is an older gentleman and has recently become single which leaves him in need of help either around the house, driving him, or walking his dog. I first met my boss in May of this year when I tagged along with my dad to renovate his kitchen. On my off days from my other job at the time, I would help my dad with his work despite being a girl.”
“My first impression of him was a ‘Man in Power,’ someone who gets his way, doesn’t take bullshit from anyone, and is brutally honest. When I was there with my dad, my boss was completely respectful, never bothered us as we worked, generally no red flags at all.”
It’s also worth mentioning that our heroine loves dogs. “When there’s a dog in the room, I give all my attention to the good boy or girl. The main duty in my job description was to take care of this man’s dog: walk her, feed her, play with her. I bonded with her when we first met and we reconnected around 2 weeks ago. She’s very sweet and always wants affection which I provide.” (Facebook cover image: onesight1)
“My boss was coming on to me strong. As a joke, I called out to his dog to protect me”

“The first two days were normal because I still did not see any red flags and things were going great. Now my boss is a man who always gives hugs to ANYONE he greets. Male, female, child. So I didn’t think anything weird of it until I started to feel his hand brushing against my thighs, my hips, my lower back… Then it got to the point where he wouldn’t let me go from a hug and hold me in place and despite my protest, he combated it with, ‘don’t worry, I know you enjoy it.’ He had liked to make comments on my body and say how he enjoyed viewing me. I usually tried to laugh it off and walk away because I’m not a confronting person and am scared to hurt other’s feelings.”
“She listened and turned against him”

“I was sitting on the sofa tying my shoes with the dog laying by my feet and I became surprised when I suddenly felt hands pulling on my hips. I moved forward and told him no. He came around the sofa and started walking straight towards me saying how he’s going to ‘tickle’ me. I panicked and called the dog’s name along with, ‘help me’ or ‘protect me’ to distract him for a little longer before he touched me again. To my surprise, she got up and stood guard growling & barking at him. He was surprised but also laughing and told me to make her stand down and reward her by saying ‘good girl.’ My boss then walked away and didn’t touch me for the rest of the time I was there.”
“I haven’t quit yet because I’m currently looking into another job. I live paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford to quit immediately. And I haven’t sued him as well. I don’t want to make anything public and I feel that I don’t have much power to do anything about it other than quit and move on. He’s his own boss and already feels he’s above everyone else.”
“I’m not an expert on dog behavior and I don’t understand why a dog would disobey its master over someone it barely knows. But from what I have gathered, dogs have a tendency to protect those in distress so she probably detected something was wrong and that I was panicking. Some people could say that she may ‘feel his wrath’ after disobeying him, but he really loves his dog and I don’t see any signs of an abused animal. She’s just as healthy and bright as I met her.”
“It is hard to talk about it because sometimes I have thoughts questioning if I’m making it up or this is how men are. The hardest part is trying to tell others such as close friends and family. It feels as if I’ll bring shame or that I’m ‘dirty.’ I know my family would do something about it but I feel embarrassed and shameful.”
After she shared her experience online, she was overwhelmed by the amount of support she has received and has a couple of advice to pass on to others who might be dealing with something similar:
1. Keep your distance. Minimum: 5 ft. Always be aware of your space and if he steps forward, step backwards;
2. Body language. Cross arms to show disinterest and stand tall and head high to show no sign of weakness;
3. Be in charge of the conversation when it’s not about work. Shut down any ideas or subjects that can lead to anything sexual. Or diverge to a different subject;
4. Talk about your interest in another person. A person you like or your boyfriend. Show him that there’s no room for him in your mind bc you already have someone.
Here’s what people had to say about the whole situation
Leave. Leave and report him. Also must make sure the dog is safe. Seriously, if you don't report him he'll probably do this to any other future female employees. No matter how 'important' he is, he can't do this to people. I also don't like the 'hugs everyone'. If I've just met someone I don't want a hug from them.
Why do people do that? She's his employee, not his girlfriend! I hate it when people reach in and try to grab me. I've become an expert in dodging.
Load More Replies...Doggos are funny. A family member tried to use his dog to intimidate me at a family gathering because I'm a f****t (his words). The poor soul (the dog) looked so confused at what his human wanted him to do. When the human started screaming at me and trying to slap me, the doggo turned around and bit him in his thigh, just missing you know what. His wife then pipped up and said "You always ruin everything you &^%$&% f****t". That ended the dogs owners wedding reception after only a half hour or so. It was all my fault for just breathing. My Mom ended up with doggo, who was a very good boy for many years.
Good, good, excellent dog! So glad he ended up with your mum - he deserved to have a much nicer family! You deserve to not have people like that around you too.

She must learn to be a woman. Dad can't always be there. I agree Dad must know, to protect others he might give a good recommendation to, but Dad will be in danger from both the perv and the dog, who despite reacting well to this woman's distress, WILL attack a male acting aggressively on his property and to his handler, especially if trained to do so, which she is per the "stand down." Suggestion: when you tell Dad, tell him "I need to tell you something that is going on with me, but I need you to swear to me that you will let me handle it." Have plans in place to do so. Borrow a nanny can if you feel you really need to go back. Have your phone on "record" so you at least get dialogue, and call him out if he comes closer than 4 feet from you. Let him know you're here to work, and ABSOLUTELY will not tolerate being touched in ANY way. You can get his reaction on your phone recorder.

Time to call this man out in public for being a sexual predator. If people know his true nature he'll have no choice toeither fess up or lie. In either case you will have brought the situation to other people's attention so it will be less likely to happen again.
Report this man! If you don't report it, it's just gonna happen again. Oh and make sure you mention the dog, because honestly I'm worried for the dog now.
For all the people who are saying "Keep the dog" that is a horrible idea. This woman literally says she is living paycheck to paycheck. There is no way she'll be able to take care of this dog if she can barely pay for herself. Dogs require time and training something this woman can't give him. If it were up to me I'd send that menace of a man to prison and that pupperdoodle to an owner who CAN take care of him/her.
You should leave that is for sure. But since you cant....Gather evidence, buy a discrete recorder or camera that you can use without being obvious. Don't use your phone because it is going to be obvious when you suddenly stop using your phone. Often in such situations people brush it off as misunderstanding, no telling who would really believe you. Second thing, join a self defence class. You may come back one day and find the dog gone. So you will lose your 1st line of defence. Finally be firm. From the way you doubted youself it feels as if you are confused about the whole incident. You have to take stand for yourself.
Passive women like this friggin annoy me and make things worse by not having a voice. "I’m not a confronting person and am scared to hurt other’s feelings". F*ck his feelings, what about you lady?! Stand your ground, be firm and say no.
Personal safety, security and mental and emotional health should be more important than a job. I know that's easy to say because I'm not in that situation and don't really know what it's like. But a work environment that you feel fear and anxiety every time you even think about,... I'm not sure if I would be willing to do it no matter the benefits. I don't know... I think you have to set some boundaries also for yourself - how much you're willing and able to take and for how long vs. how much benefits and/or pay you get out of it. I'm glad she is looking for another job and hope for her sake she finds a better one with a better boss. Also: this dog is awesome, I feel sorry for it because it has such a disgusting owner.
Firstly, obviously this is terrible and the man is a menace. Secondly do you think he'll let you keep the dog when you quit...fingers crossed.
Cane Corso's are very protective. Being a female Cane Corso she was atuned to your feelings. Youre very lucky because not many corsos will go against their owners. Take a que from the dog and get away from that guy!!!
I have a 142lbs Corso who is a total mush ball to 98% of people. He's only had issues with about three people and he was very intent on them not being around my boyfriend and I. They know things when they feel 'em!
How I love dogs ( and cats) more than most humans..apparently we are the intelligent ones..however we are so f****d up aganist our own SPECIES...when other species are so loyal and loving to us!!!
As a 'girl' ie. under 18, it is not safe for this person to be working in this house with what is clearly a peadophile. The whole set up is messed up; an 'older gentleman' who supposedly needs help with personal care yet who is also a 'man in power who gets what he wants' and strong enough to have a 40kg dog as a pet. She doesn't seem to be aware of the extent of the danger or of what reasonable boundaries are. Major safeguarding issues here.
Men like that have power and they think they can treat their employees any way they like.

watch how he'll get rid of the dog so it wont be their to protect her next time, if she hasnt quit or been fired by then
I was taught to respect ALL elders as I did my own grandmother. It took until I was 27 to figure out that many older and elderly were merely nasty, awful young people who had lived a long time. You don't owe him any coddling or excuses.
Predators actively look for submissive females who appear unsure of themselves. They can be talked around to believing the are misunderstanding the intent, or believing him when he says he thought she was "sending signals." Stand straight, walk with determination, and don't doubt your eyes, skin, or gut. I was you when I was young; always concerned I was misinterpreting, or wouldn't be believed. They count on that. Carefully consider--if he assaults you, will the pay and benefits help? Try REALLY hard to get something else for employment. Move back with your parents if you need to?
It seems we always have a disgusting male to deal with, even the dog knows his master is bad, the dog shows no bond with him, when you leave you must report to the authorities as this will happen again and the next lady may not be safe !!!
@Fuckglitter is dead on, if a dog like that turns on the master you need to leave and not go back. No job is worth it unless you want bigger problems. Also. side note here, he has ego issues and cannot control a dangerous dog, there is a bigger problem brewing there and you don't want to be around when it happens.
I hope there's some kind of action you can take against this man, but it there's not I hope you try to find a way to warn other women. Do so anonymously, or the creep will likely try to sue you. I read a news report years ago about a man walking his dog in a park somewhere in Russia. A woman's screams were coming from behind some shrubs in the park. No human made any attempt to help. They just stood and listened. The dog ripped the leash out of his owner's hand, and attacked the rapist who was attacking the woman. She later said she knew the dog had saved her life.
The best advice, is the one when he start touching you, you go all dreamy, and start to talk about this great handsome guy you have just met. Your boss selfesteem will get a real blow, and I really don't think he will do it anymore. Such a loser. He deserve the pain in his head. #cerebellumcrushed.
Here's another bit of advice: Always dress respectably in a work environment.
And maybe children wouldn't be raped if they dressed more conservatively???
Load More Replies...Cane Corso are very protective dogs. If they like u they WILL protect you. They love to be loved so you probably gave him better love than his owner and that's why
I'm sorry...how is boredpanda saying that a girl anonymously contacted them with her story when this was obviously taken from reddit? the origin of these stories are often misleading.
Apart from Run all the advice steps 1 2 3 4 are the worst kind of **ll ***t. It implies that she/ other women are doing something to " lead him on ". It gives a false impression that the victims' behaviour somehow controlled him. And when other women read this the idea that somehow by not doing these things they deserved to be assaulted.
B******t. They are suggestions that getting out is probably her safest course of action as no-one wants her hurt. Reporting him may stop him doing it to someone else but there are no guarantees. No one in their right mind thinks she led him on, in fact you are the first to interpret it in that way. Not reporting it doesn't mean she deserves to be assaulted and no-one said that. However it is naive to expect it to stop without some intervention taking place. Or that he hasn't done it before or will again. Doesn't make it her fault at all. He is at fault and is scum.

Perhaps you can find someone who’s been though the gauntlet for support and guidance. You sound lovely, your canine friend agrees and you have nothing to be ashamed of! Hugs!
