Backyard cinema, need to cover it though.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ Aunty’s Lil Green Hut

These ideas can also inspire low cost, low tech versions. i.e. place a sleeping hammock high in a sm room for a guest bed or reading spot. When not being used, sub out hammock bed w/ lg net filled w/japanese paper lanterns and a string of lights…or hang colored glass pieces intermixed w/ mirror pieces fr the net for kaleidoscope effect.

    I like number 17!

My cat would poop in that

  • http://www.facebook.com/mgdenardi Maria Grazia De Nardi

Che idee! bellissime ed eleganti. Ciao.

  • d

yea the ‘beach sand desk’ is terrible.. sandy feet every time you step in, then it gets everywhere. Not to mention it would be impossible to move that chair around in the sand.

    • cowboy

OMG are you people frightened of a bit of sand around the place and god forbid that you might have to actually move a chair , do you realise how lame and lazy you sound

      • ease

The point is you’d have to clean sand every single time you use that desk. And it’s not about being lazy, it’s about being comfortable, having a chair that can move around a little so you can position yourself helps you do that.

      • YouMustBeALibtard

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of that box without tracking sand EVERYWHERE. You’ve obviously never tried to clean a hardwood floor. If you’d had, you would know what an absolutely TERRIBLE idea that is. You know what would be an even better idea? TAKE YOUR DAMN LAPTOP OUTSIDE. GENIUS! Watch out for cat turds…

    • JustThinking

Sand under the desk…. barefeet…. and cats? They may have other intentions for your giant sand… box.

    Oh my, everything.

Thank you Bored Panda, for reminding me that humans have imagination. Thank you for reminding me that we have endless possibilities if we use that imagination and thank you for showing examples for inspiration so I can make my own more suitable solutions for creating a homespace that is much more stimulating to me and my dreams..

  • Quartz

Its not whether it is practical, it is about thinking outside the box and using your imagination. Challenging the status quo. What is so wrong with that? Not everyone likes the same things.

    • Donal Laurence Heffernan

Fail. It is actually about thinking INSIDE the box.

    • Antony N Jilly

I agree it is so much fun to see something you haven’t thought about yourself! :o)

  • Anonymous

Beach sand under the desk….. NOT if you have cats! then it’s a litter box under desk……. Balcony pool….. how many gallons of water pressing against glass wall? has anyone ever seen a above the ground pool fail? It’s a long way down if it does……

    • cassideia

Imagine sitting down and stretching your toes out and finding something between your toes….lol.

  • go die

lol @ sand in your living room.

lol@ no one being able to afford this

    lol.

  • Lusus Naturae

I like the catwalk around the house… Fresh air for an indoor kitteh.

    • Sandra

That catwalk is from “A Beautiful World Living Environments” in Brentwood Bay, B.C., Canada. It’s on a house in Victoria, B.C.

  • Lusus Naturae

The library stairs was really cool too.

  • smoka

#27 (Fire Pit Table) seems like a fire hazard.

  • http://www.facebook.com/asjad.jamshed Asjad Jamshed

Some of the ideas are completely insane i.e. swing set table, cat transit system.

    • Payal

what is insane about a swing table ?????????? Its lovely

      • Jo-AnneP

You can’t really swing sitting at a table… A bus stop maybe. Good however in case of choking. Theoretically a person could do the heimlich maneuver on themself!

  • Joe Pirelli

I have to admit, I am disappointed to not see a firemans pole (which I plan to put in my place when my son is old enough!!!

  • Floyd R. Turbo

Obvisously, these improvements/ideas are not for the average joe on Facebook…

  • lulu

I would choose the staircase slide, its just a cool idea I think. I would also pick the swing table thing cause that’s pretty cool too. The catwalk around the house would be good for the cats but I’m just not sure if I’d have it in my house.

  • dale

    cool…

  • omordah

Half of these are terrifying, and some of them are just stupid.

    • Serai 1

      Jealous much?

  • Tie Dye’s Momma

Wall o’Herbs would be great… until the cat noticed new greenry and started hacking up basil in front of the bathroom door. :/ Think I’ll skip anything involving open flame and sand too.

  • cowboy

fantastic ideas, shame you have some of the most boring unimaginative people that ever walked Gods earth passing comments , whine “ya have to be rich “, whine “ooo sand, i’ll have to clean up ” a good few things can be done without an awful lot of money just time , someone might break a finger nail(men inc ) …would you ever go back and read your miserable negative comments and see it as a reflection of your miserable boring lives

    • forever the optimist

so well said!!!!!!!!!! :) i love them all!

    • Brigitte Lakah

      I agree… dream a little!

    • CharlieGr

Haha EVERYONE NEEDS TO LIKE ALL OF THE IDEAS AND HAVE NO CRITIQUES BECAUSE THOSE MAKE YOU BORING.
Seriously though…I like the idea of having sand under my desk. But not throughout my house. Problem is that it will, without fail, get tracked throughout the house. That doesn’t make me boring. It makes me clean. And keeps my underwear from chafing…
I like the idea of having books and storage built into my staircase, and I’ll probably do it…if I ever get the spare money or the time to do it myself. That doesn’t make me miserable. Just a young man who has to work a lot to get that money someday.
Pretty sure the most miserable people are those who would rather scream unintelligably online than understand where others are coming from.

  • Sanjiv Dutta

As if I don’t have any other problems in my life!

  • jsjko

I know, like some of these is like “WOW” would anyone actually have these!

  • Gussy2000

Stair storage is my favorite. Most of the ping pong/pool table ones are stupid. If you have that kind of money just build a separate game room.

  • Natasha

Practical or not, I just enjoyed the creativity and as a friend mentioned earlier, the courage ” to look out the box”….The images were uplifting and inspiring and reminded me, once again, that anything is possible … We’ll-done Bored-panda “s”!

  • Corn DOG

I like corn. Also i like dogs. OMG corn dogs

  • Julieta Lucca

“Hammock over the stairs”.. so if it breaks, it hurts more.

  • Greg

#3 is not unknown, it’s Ikeas in Santorini :-)

  • DSmithDallas

I believe the balcony pool is a concept photo.

  • UPGN

    #8 – To the Batmobile!

  • Barry Paul Crider

Imagine if that balcony pool failed.

  • Dori2000

I can’t believe there are negative comments here. What happened to fantasy and dreaming?? Yes, most of us could never afford these and most aren’t practical but just dream and enjoy, don’t be so literal about everything. Everyone of these would make me feel like a kid again, I would love to explore everyone of these and I can if I close my eyes and dream. The pirate bedroom is the best!!!!

  • Edwin Mwathe

If these is what it takes to live in the first world.
I am contented sleeping on top of trees, bird singing lullaby for me,lions, cheetahs, hyenas waiting patiently to devour me, as giraffes, elephants and other herbivorous eat my home.
Did I mention warlords and poachers?yes.never come to Kenya.Nothing like these to find.

  • Ray

I have the outdoor cinema and it wasn’t expensive at all. The most expensive part was the artificial grass. The projector was $500. The mattress pads were from ikea $199 each. The screen was $200. The triangle mattress thing was $40 each. The lights were all of $50.

  • Harpal Singh Malvai

Most of the ideas are great. Need to be expanded on realistically.

  • Hafiz

Hi there, who is online now?

  • Hafiz Eshouchy Eshouchy

    love, love and love.

  • roberta4343

don’t like some of these I like the indoor outdoor pool, the aquarium pirate ship in the air idea, tho I would go for a different theme tho same design, the walk in pool the glass tub, hated the glass bathroom floor, like the outdoor office, the spiral staircase with the slide (good for emergencies) I also would have the staked herb garden in my kitchen but alas to small.

  • Wally

    6, 14, 22, 24 for me!! Love it!

  • Yoyo face

The apartments with swimming pools on the edge looks kinda dangerous. Is this building real??

  • Jeff

I love number 6 and the cat walk in side the house, my cats would love it!

  • EmilyOswald

I would definitely want a pirate ship bed. Or the wall that makes music when it rains.

  • KJ101

I wanna shed my load down the mineshaft :-D

  • Pauper Joe

all you need now is a few million bucks and a mansion to install it in

  • Alyssa

for the sandbox one i dont think it would track sand everywhere if you use kenitic sand. Kenitic sand is made with bits of plastic and i feels amazing when touching it. Just an idea
