As a wildlife photographer, I often capture those rare and genuine moments when animals seem to be laughing – moments full of character, emotion, and humor. These expressions are natural, unexpected, and surprisingly human. Through my photography, I want to show that even in the wild, there are glimpses of joy and playfulness. Animals are not just powerful and majestic – they are also sensitive, emotional, and incredibly expressive.

I think for chimpanzees that's the smiling face? Wide mouth, upper lip covering the upper teeth, lower teeth exposed. Exposed top teeth usually mean fear/aggression.

Not really. This just relaxed. Their excited/play expression is different. Also exposed top teeth doesn't always mean fear/aggression. It can also mean a high arousal state such as high energy play. I had to learn all these while working with Washoe and her family (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washoe_(chimpanzee))
