True, people here are materialistic, but they are still very spiritual because religion is very widely practised. There are millions of beautiful temples here that see millions of visitors each year. People go on religious trips to sacred cities like Varanasi all the time and many people take oaths or abstain from something as penance. I would still say India is quite spiritual and religious.

I think most of us are pretty indifferent to them. I also think that whenever there's talk of scrapping the Monarchy, a lot of us look at what's going on elsewhere in the world and think, do we REALLY want a President?

I've lived in Australia all my life and have never been the slightest bit afraid of our wildlife. I do however think it would be scary to go walking in a forest where there might be a leopard or bear!

There is a nasty element of racism and right-wing values in Australia. Anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists and Trump admirers are making things worse. We could well end up like the US if we're not careful

I am convinced that Estonia is actually mostly made from drinking water. Like a sponge. And if we did not clean our draining ditches regularly, the entire country would turn into a swamp in less than 10 years - the source: me having to go hunting on "dry land" (Ha!) in fishing boots up to my hips and that WITH working drainage ditches. But I am constantly surprised by how backwards other countries are in the IT. Like someone wrote here that they have to bring a PAPER to their PHYSICAL registration office to register a vehicle??? Like in the 19th century???

If UNICEF for example is to be believed, the current crisis comes with about 20 million people who suffer from starvation, mostly children. Do we better believe "Anonymous", a single "African from Sudan"?

The stereotype that India is some sort of dystopian hell for women and no woman can be happy there. Oh shush! India is a great place to live for all genders. While I admit there are some problems here, most other countries have these problems too so don’t go nitpicking and pointing at India only. Oh the other hand, one positive stereotype is about the food. It is very much true that India has amazing food. Plus, India’s cuisine is very accommodating to people of various allergies and food preferences. I have allergies and intolerances myself so Indian food is almost the only cuisine I can eat without being sick.

I was so in love with the food and the people, yeah we had a few shippy 💩 people but the majority were absolutely the loviest people!! I only hated one thing which was the noise and regular pollution 😖 wish it was allowed to post pictures of the sweetest people whom i took pics of (ALWAYS asked before taking!) the smiles ❤️
