This is exactly how my 1st (adopted) cat, chose her best friend (my 2nd adopted cat). I was fostering kittens, and she chose her bestie, by cuddling up together like this. They STILL sleep all snuggled up and hugging eachother. Best choices I ever made. <3

Wow! You can tell he's an elderly cat, but he's in remarkably good condition. Other cats look worse before they even reach 20 years (not my parents' healthy old cat I mentioned in another comment, but e.g. her late brother). There's only so much you can tell from looks, but barring a chronic condition or a really bad infection, I'd say he still has a few years left.

No. One of my cats, Stripe, a male preferred when my female friends came over. When they did, he would act like a Lothario and flirt with them and demand attention. When males came over, he would hide and look from afar as if to say "Leave you bastard. Hiss!" One of my other cats only acknowledged when one friend came over and get attention from her. Meanwhile ignoring me. I called my cat Brownie a Benedict Arnold because of it. Rascal (female) runs to my Uncle's attention. CoffeeCake does the same only when he's carrying or eating food. I had a call from the shelter one night telling me that a large grey cat was being adopted and they needed to know his name to look up his profile. Well, the only large grey cat we had was feral and I told her that. She looked at the man and his new pet and said "well, Reuben doesn't appear to be feral anymore". We never got a call later saying the cat wasn't working out, so I guess it's true "Reuben isn't feral anymore", he had been for two years.

It's really mostly smaller food portions, low calorie food an exercise by getting them to play. If it doesn't work, talk to your vet. A chonk kitty is not a healthy kitty, however cute they still are.

I took a loving picture of two of my cats which was rare since they despised each other. More so him (Stripe) than her Brownie (her). He wasn't happy when years before when he went missing, I found her first instead. "I was gone for a few hours and already I've been replaced?" My vet's hospital sent out my cat to be cremated. She came back in the most loveliest box, with her name and years of birth and death. The people that did it also sent a card and a packet of "forget me not" flowers. Just recently planted them in my ministry's community garden. I miss her so much.

I have an under the bed kitty that most people have never seen, she was my son's cat, when he died she came to live with us. She sleeps on the bed with me at night and gets hers cuddles and loves and that's it. She won't let my younger son pet her either.

Male cats really seem to love being caretakers. My very, very old female cat has seizures. I always know when she's about to have one because my tomcat senses it before I do. Runs to her and holds her, trying to pick her up, and afterward he will groom her. He's my lovely little floof nurse. She will hiss and spit at him because she's confused, but he takes it in stride.

We had this cat that turned up out of the blue. We named him Tiger. Our dog adored him. Found out later when he passed away, he was owned by someone else. He was a terrific cat and helped the dog when he was dying by giving him comfort. RIP Tiger.

Looks purrfect. Another cat, maybe in another BoredPanda post/article, a cat got a scarf from one of its moms and loved it. If it fell off it's shoulders, Kitty would demand that it be put back on. Not everyone. I went to Marmaris and there were LOADS of stray cats. They went to the outdoor eating area at the hotel I was staying with, and the waiters shooed them and sprayed water in their faces. They were all so skinny :( and just wanted food! I was there for a week. Saw one pet dog on day 5... It's crazy.
