This Online Group Collects The Best Personal Tweets, Here Are 50 That Deserve The Attention They Got (New Pics)
Thoughts constantly swirl around in our heads. From when we open our eyes in the morning until we close them at night (and sometimes, even after that), there's always something for us to contemplate about.
In fact, a 2020 study suggests people typically have more than 6,000 thoughts per day. That's a lot. And as much as we'd like to believe otherwise, not all of them are brilliant. So with social media allowing us to instantly share whatever crosses our mind, we broadcast quite a lot of funny, weird, and infuriating personal takes, too.
To illustrate just how random our statements can be, we at Bored Panda put together a new publication on the subreddit whose sole mission is to capture the chaotic side of human interaction. Continue scrolling to check out its latest finds and fire up our earlier piece on it when you're done.

This Would Be The Greatest Irony
To learn more about our inner filters, we contacted Phil Reed, D.Phil., who is a professor of psychology at Swansea University.
"There are many reasons why people overshare," Dr. Reed told Bored Panda. "A lack of awareness about the dangers is one, but also the lack of 'real' social feedback online is a big contributor. Since there is a degree of anonymity, certain a lack of immediate feedback, people tend to get it wrong in terms of sharing."

However, even though the reasons why people overshare may vary, the act itself seems pretty much universal. Also, researchers from The University of Edinburgh and Northwestern University in Illinois found that the risk of oversharing in conversation actually increases as people age.
When testing 100 people from 17 to 84 years old on their attention skills, the researchers discovered that the older subjects provided listeners with more irrelevant details than their younger peers. As this behavior can be dangerous — older people, for example, might accidentally reveal private info to strangers looking to take advantage — this finding is essential in helping "design targeted training that helps older adults improve these skills and avoid embarrassing and potential risky communicative errors,” said lead researcher Madeleine Long, of the University of Edinburgh's School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences.

Yep
I feel the same about these appeal shows that they have on TV. Lots of celebrities virtue-signalling about how they are working the night for free as they try to guilt you into donating part of your rent to charity. Don't get me wrong, we give to local charities when we can afford to and they do some brilliant work. But I will not tolerate some rich TV star trying to make me feel guilty about keeping a roof over our head and food on the table. Furthermore, and this bit is horrible but it needs telling, a poor elderly lady killed herself in the UK a couple of years ago because she couldn't afford to give to every appeal directed her way. Every penny she had was sunk into charity appeals and when the money ran out she felt so bad that she had to end her life. Literally killed by kindness.

I've met Dan! We were both buying coffee and chatting casually; he asked if I was staying at the cafe with my coffee, so we sat and just talked about generic stuff. I had no idea who he is at the time. Incredibly friendly and nice man!
Dr. Reed said people should be very wary of oversharing. "It can compromise personal security, and personal safety, as well as lead to bullying."
"It can also make people very vulnerable psychologically; if they are feeling low, overshare to get support, and are attached for it, then depression can set in."

This Is How Ya Do It
To keep ourselves in check, Dr. Reed suggests treating communication on the internet the same as in real life.
"Remember, online is just as much of a social interaction as in the real world," he said. "Do not share anything online that you would not in real life. People can get a little impulsive with their digital interactions, so just remember that. Perhaps count to 10 before sharing."

But if you are bothered by another person who starts to give you too much information, psychotherapist Amy Morin says your first line of defense should be to change the subject.
For instance, try saying, 'Sorry to hear that. Have you heard the weather for tomorrow?' Sometimes people will take the hint, but you may need a more direct approach if the other person continues to overshare.

because republicans believe obviously that women's political opinions don't count but women are merely there to reproduce, as per the recent RvW judgment
The key in such situations is to not reciprocate. Just because your boss tells you she's going through a divorce, that doesn't mean you need to tell her about your marital problems as well.
While sharing your personal stories can be empowering, you should do that at the right time, in the right place, and with the right people.

Load More Replies...But her son did. Or Grandson. Or nephew. Or after selling piroshki to you in America, she comes home and watches russian TV propaganda. I am Ukrainian, my father and all his halph of the family are russians. My dad lives in Ukraine for 5 decades and he loves this country. But all his relatives in russia don`t believe him about the horrors and atrocities of russian soldiers in Ukraine, they prefer to trust their TV. And yes, by the way, it is not putin who invaded my country all alone, it is hundres of thousands of russian soldiers killing, raping, torturing and stealing here, who have the fullest support of their extended families back at home. So no, you can't tell me that russian people is not to be blamed
That Russian grandmother may have raised her son to have no qualms about doing just that. I'm sure there are some empathic and moral people in Russia, but I agree with you. Where do all those soldiers get their ethics and morals from, if not their families? They are the ones that raised them, and the Russian army has too many monsters like that to be a moral glitch in a few people.
Load More Replies...People driving around in trucks with Russian flags and big white Zs though, that's a different story.
„The 50 year old grandmother“ is the only thing I can see here. Okay, Gen-Z.
I'm surprised by the number of folks on this site who think 50 is still too young to be a grandparent. If you're 50 and had a kid at, say, 20 then your child would be 30 and could easily have a 10 year old by now, thus making you a grandparent.
Load More Replies...A lot of people feel they can attack people or businesses simply because at that moment a particular group (country, race, name, physical appearance) happens to fit as their perceived enemy. Think of Covid-19 and our Asian neighbors, the war in Ukraine and anything Russian or remember how the folks in Congress were mad at France for not being 1,000% supportive to the U.S. during the Iraq conflict, where they actually changed "French fries" to "Freedom fries" in the Capitol's lunch rooms. What would some of us think or do if a Black man were to hurt Donald Trump intentionally or unintentionally? I can imagine Black folks in general would find themselves paying a price for this one fellow's actions. Grouping the offender and those somehow related to him is what some folks do in their frustration and anger of an issue they can't control or fully understand.
Saw a rock band that is Russian-based and one of their members is Ukrainian (they are a mix of different things, not just Russian). It was such a beautiful moment for everyone to cheer for this member who acknowledges how lucky he is to be safely away but how he knows so many there and the rest of his bandmates condemned the Russian government and say that the people of Russia are NOT for the invasion. I bought one of their shirts for sure.
50-year-old grandmother? That doesn't evoke the image that I amige you wanted to create.
Sadly though it's the ordinary Russian people who are suffering. Definitely not the rich or the politicians
I think Russians are cool people and in Russia 5 years ago, there was not much difference from Europe. Sadly, they just can't handle it. They must regress to being a pariah and a bully State.
We shouldn't take our anger out on the citizens who live in Russia either. They're under rule of a dictator and most of them probably hate him and what he's doing but are afraid to speak out. Russia has had terrible luck with leaders over the past hundredodd years.
And likely is about as proud of what Putin is doing as the average American. (Remember, I said *average*… The fact that Trump is proud of what Putin is doing proves he has past his expiration date.)
I read recently on CNN, I believe, that Russian Domino's Pizza owners are not shutting down & the North American Headquarters officers are backing them up. I'm boycotting Domino's as a result!
Same horrible energy as people whaling on people of Asian descent “for creating Covid” … ridiculous & cowardly. 😑🤦♀️
I've stopped telling people that my heritage is Russian (US citizens for many generations) because I'm so ashamed of pyootin
Weeelll... The Russian government is Heavily involved with the Russian Athletics (and doping scandals), so it a fair bit more ok.
