I'm currently homeless and it was because my landlord sold the house without telling us til a week before we had to move out. I have a special needs son and on a fixed income so I haven't been to find anything.

Cats are the best and they make such low maintenance pets, comparatively speaking. Cats are also such comical creatures. If you spend enough time around them, you learn to appreciate their personalities and how funny and quirky they can be.

Anytime I've met someone who hated cats always turned out to be toxic. It's a very reliable red flag.

I just love animals, cats, dogs, doesn't matter. I'm an animal lover! Never had a dog, but I had 3 cats growing up in Brooklyn. They were my babies ❤❤❤ Only one was an a*****e, the other 2 were perhaps the nicest, friendliest cats you'd ever meet. It all depends I guess, but you have cats that are little pricks and other cats that are genuine sweeties. All depends, like with dogs; and the human race. 😏

People like to joke about this because they just don't understand cats. I've seen pics of cats with their squinty-eyes (which means they trust you and are comfortable around you) and people say they're glaring! They don't knock things over because they know you love that object, there's no malice in it, just playing and exploring the world. They don't throw up in your shoes to say they hate you, it because your scent makes them feel like it's a safe place when they're ill and vulnerable. They're affectionate, funny, calming, and they rely on their humans' presence more than it sometimes seems!

My cat was an a*****e, and I loved my Little Furry Miss Evil to bits. People who love their cats love them even when they're a*****e cats.

My first cat was the devil herself. I don't know what was wrong with her but if cats can be psychopaths she really was one. I still loved her and only me and my grandma could pet her. She later lived with my grandma because she had a farm and my cat could do anything she wanted there and live her best psychopaths life.

Mine aren't even silently planning their take over. They are just plain sweet, cuddly, and really kinda dumb. They just aren't as clingy and annoying and desperate for attention as boys. I mean dogs.

They walk in poo and then on your table and counter tops.... Gross. I don't mind barn cats, but in the house 🤮

An animal isn't an a*****e just because it doesn't conform to your desires or because you haven't bothered to learn how to interact with it. You have to develop a relationship on their terms. As the creature with greater intellect, the responsibility is on you. If your cat is acting out, YOU are the one not meeting all of its needs. Also, cats aren't fully domesticated. They haven't been bred as pets for very long, so occasionally there are cats that aren't fit to be pets. Again, you have to respect a cat's individual nature.

The thing that weirds me out the most is that people who hate cats seem to hate them mostly because they don't act like dogs... which... ok, if you prefer dogs, that's fine. But why *hate* cats for not being dogs? They don't hate other animals for not acting like dogs. It's a cat-specific thing. Grr!

Dogs are better than cats. This is a universally accepted truth.

It's funny how people label cats as these moody creatures that can attack you if you get close. But when I say I don't like people, when there are actually so many sexists, racists, abusers, murderers, rapists and more out there people are like "that's such a negative outlook, people are amazing!"

Cats aren't assholes. It's the people who think they "own" them who are assholes.

If you treat your cat right, it will treat you right. They need places to hide, climb, scratch, and play. They need attention and active play. Cats are not for everyone, but they are great.

Dogs can be just as much of a jerk, they just show their affection in more acceptable ways so people assume they're more loving. You get out what you put in, just like any relationship.

Cats being assholes is part of their charm.

I love, love, love every cat I've ever had, even the one I have now, who I rescued and will not sit in my lap and only tolerates my pets. She's the best because she is who she is and lets me be who I am.

Yes they are a**holes, but that doesn't matter, we love them anyway! Cats' staff put up with a lot for those cuddles and purrs! (Nah, cats are really very friendly. My two are my children.)

No, but it's a fun running gag that no sensible person should take seriously. They ARE predators so empathy with prey animals is unlikely (but not unknown!) They chose to domesticate themselves because of the safer opportunities living with humans gave them.

We have three cats. One is so destructive and bossy to the other two. All are spayed females but she is outrageous.

Our girls are amazing. They're smart, funny and have great personalities. They're also low maintenance, which I love. We've had cats and dogs my entire life but dogs just require more work. I'm keeping my sister's dog right now and I remember why I don't have a dog. Walks, picking up poop, the barking. Bella is precious but no thank you.
