Wiktor is a 30-year-old model, writer, travel journalist and photographer, comes from Poland and is passionate about traveling.

Describes the Blue City, in Rajasthan, called the city of the sun. Jodphur in the fumes of the sewage system is full of nooks and climatic very narrow streets.

Having no phone with me or no specific goal with me, I went deeper and deeper, scenes along the way resembling impressionism in art. The relaxing chaos of the city and a walk to nowhere along the blue labyrinth routes, or really the blue ones?

I imagined it differently. Inhabitants of the old city say that the color blue had a cooling function against the heat, and in the 90s the city was actually blue all over, but due to the rains, many buildings were washed away.

To sum up, the blue city is not so blue as it is shown by Vlogs and photo reports promoting Jodhpur also other famous photographers who delight the crowds with photoshop tricks and appropriate processing.

Most of the buildings are not even fully covered with blue, they are single walls, which can give the Blue effect from a distance.

People in the blue town were like in my country, that is, divided into two halves, absolutely not the poor and the rich in the old town, the poor guests are all equally. However, the division is between the polite, smiling, curious and suspicious, closed and even arrogant.

The latter was quite mentally and morally wild,

shouting at me, they chased me out of their property when I crossed the line with the camera. They were not eager to talk or service in the store, and the latter, on the contrary, invited their houses inside, offering a cup of tea and snacks in the form of pasta. Constantly smiling and curious about my visit to their city.

To sum up, Jodphur is an unusual place, with many contrasts, a huge city teeming with life. It is a pity that no one gets involved in such an old city as Jodphur to revitalize or restore washed blue lime again, which would extend the life of the city.

Well, that’s what it looks like in India, historical sites, monuments and forts are self-imposed without the interference of city authorities or monument conservators because most of the gigantic catfish goes towards the city of Agra where the Taj Mahal is located.

The first photo I took in Jodphur on the roof of my hotel. The silence of the city to the noise of flying birds on the bell of the old clock from the town hall (Clock tower built in 1880-1911, which is still in operation today). The clock tower chimed 6:00. A spectacular sunrise in a mystical atmosphere illuminated the huge Mehrangarh Fortress behind us.

One of the fort’s oldest and still active temples

Fort Mehrangarh was built by Rao Jodha in 1459 which you can see on a mount carved from stone. The fort stretches over 5 km and is built on a 125 m high hill above the Jodphur skyline. The battlements range from 6 to 36 m high. Mighty walls that still bear canonical scars after the defeat of the invasive forces from Jaipur. Officially, the fort carries the damage that is still visible today after 1808 cannonball strikes!
