The Way These Cabinets Open And Close

Tambour doors have been used in design for some time now, but Poritz & Studio has perfectly incorporated this classic element in their contemporary furniture line. The series includes coffee tables, desks, bars, armoires, and other sleek pieces. Each one was entirely hand made in Brooklyn, New York, usually from Walnut, and are wonderful examples of expert-level craftsmanship. The high-quality designs come in high price, though. For example, the coffee table costs about $14K and the armoire is valued at $28,5K.

This is absolutely gorgeous, and the hours it took to create such a complicated veneered door make it worth the effort. But keep in mind that each tiny veneered slat is fragile, and should not be exposed to kids or animals, because one mishap will ruin the entire masterpiece. 😱
It's so satisfying to watch it open and close ! I would love to have one in my house !
I would probably open and close it like an a*****e for hours on end and ruin them within 6 months.

Just looked at the prices. The console is $14,000.00. It's worth every penny. That's an utterly gorgeous piece of furniture. I just can't afford it at the moment. *sigh*

it shoudl not be more than 200$. Come to India get it for less.

I was thinking the same. Maybe it's nicely done with better structure than old ones, but I have already similar things. Still I like it.
Load More Replies...I'm pretty sure my grandma has had one of these as a TV cabinet for like, the last 30 years
I remember there was some 70s furniture like this. I think it was made from pressed board or something synthetic
