Siberian Farm Cats Have Absolutely Taken Over This Farmer’s Land, And They’re Absolutely Majestic
Just when you think you're the craziest cat lady around, someone else goes ahead and one-ups you to the fullest. Russian farmer Alla Lebedeva has turned her homestead into a cat shelter known as 'Catland,' and has gone viral with the incredible photographs and videos she takes of her many glorious Siberian cats.
Stationed in Prigorodny, just outside Barnaul, Siberia, Lebedeva and her husband Sergey have been raising these beautiful cats for over a decade. "How many do we have now? To such a question I usually answer 'a million, maybe more,'" Lebedeva tells DesignYouTrust. "They live in the henhouse... They have three ‘little bedrooms’ there where can they sleep according to how they feel. Our Siberian kittens protect the chickens and rabbits from rats and mice."
Alla's photo and video diary of her fluffy cats' daily adventures now have a following of over 2 thousand on YouTube, yet they continued to be circulated around the Internet without permission and passed off as 'Norwegians.' Though this fluffy cat breed is closely related to the famous Norwegian Forest Cat, please remember that they are separate species - and always remember to credit anything you share if possible. It's good for your health.
Scroll down and be transported to Koshlandia and its adorable cats, and let us know if you'd like to visit this 'feline hostel' sometime.

I don't understand why we cannot get rid of the a******s on here. This guy and the eatsalot guy need to be banned

When I researched this breed several years ago, this photo comes up. It's gorgeous and for those of you who think you can't have cats because of allergies, think again. Many people with cat allergies can tolerate Siberians.
Maine Coons and Forest Cats as well, they shed once a year. In summer my Forest cat sheds his winter coat. Quite the site.
Load More Replies...Genetically adapting to their environment. Very beautiful and very interesting.
I am actually a dog lover. But these cats are so beautiful! I think I'd actually think about having one.
The one one the right looks like one of my cats IMG_0865-5...04882a.jpg
No, don't worry, they're perfectly adapted to the cold. They're called "Siberian Cats" for a reason.
Load More Replies...They should turn these photos into a calendar. I'm sure it would sell well.
I'd buy a few -- one for me, others for friends. Anyone that loves cats is a friend.
Load More Replies...Cat: Think again, gospodin. *transforms in a blurry, hissing ball of hair, claws, teeth and jumps right on the face of the trespasser*

Fabulouse cats you have. If I could I would come visit because of Siberian cats. I am amazed that Siberian cats are so ...tolerant ....! Of snow and spend so much time out in it ...and even have a lot of fun playing on about in it. To my Australian eyes it's a completely new experience seeing such well adapted cats to snow.
I love the cold. But I love a soft blanket in front of a toasty fire more.
You can see the Norwegian Forest Cat in this one's face... he really resembles my Norwegian. Beautiful!
When you're a Jet You're a Jet all the way From your first catnip bit To your last meowing day
This little kitty did this and this little kitty did that and this little kitty pushed the rest off the stump.
Meet my gorgeous, Siberian girl, Stausee James, who because of her rare for the breed, blue eyes, hails from, Leningrad {aka, a Neva Masquerade} and is a "Torby", a tabby and a "Tortie", which comes complete with, TORTITUDE, and she has it in spades. She also has, seal point markings. She is a rare breed in a field of rare breeds! Believe it or not, she was a day away from being put down, and I was blessed to rescue her! Stausee-Po...f70bb2.jpg

Many a fat alley rat had met its demise staring point blank down the cavernous barrel of this awesome prowling machine..
I wonder how many of those rats died by mauling and how many died just because those eyes scared the life out of them. Literally.
Load More Replies...Siberians make marvelous house pets. As noted, they are hypo-allergenic, so people who love cats but don't love allergies will do well with them. And their personalities are very mellow and loyal - they are almost like dogs in this regard, being content to be around their human without demanding constant attention. And last, they are some of the most beautiful long-haired cats imaginable, coming in all colors, tabbies, silvers, blues, and reds, with sweet faces and a calm demeanor. They can easily attain 20 lbs. or more, have no outstanding health issues, and can live for 20 years or longer. Of course, you'll need to keep a proper comb and several brushes nearby, but they love being groomed, too.
Indeed they are. And the eyelashes come with built-in mascara. No need to buy expensive make-up.
Load More Replies...Amazing pictures. However, these and the Norwegian Forest aren't different "species," are they? Breeds, yes, but the same species, no?
Very nice, but Norwegian and Siberian cats are a single species, Felis catus. They are different breeds of the same species. Just like there is one species of dog but many breeds. In order to be separate species, they would have to be reproductively isolated, meaning they could not be crossed and produce a viable offspring. Anyway, nice story.
Do these cats really like the cold and snow? I'm freezing just looking at them.
I've had cats who loved the cold and snow, and some that didn't. The trick is to make sure they can get out of it when they need to. These beauties look well-suited to cold weather. I'm wondering if they molt like Wegies.

Aah we froze the s**t out of these cats so they'd grow thicker fur (they don't look happy, I wouldn't be!)
Her secret cat name is Freya, and she is a goddess with the wind in her hair. Disobey her at your peril. Hand over your sardines, foolish mortal.
Awwww!. Lovely cuddly, balls of love!

I would love to frame this picture and hang it in my living room to share with everyone who comes to visit my family.
Orange tabby " I dare you to lick that metal pole!"..................
I love that they're all different colors and types-Here a tuxedo-tabby and a ginger tabby; earlier, a Himalayan... no double paws, either!
@Dennis - you are one lucky guy! I'm sure Sport is one lucky cat, too!
Load More Replies...At winter fur comes more fluffy, i bet if you would wash them they would look totally different. amazing what cold do cats hair. It is russian forest cat what i know, these look same, only domesticated.

That one couple you always hang out with, and that one guy photo bombing the whole picture.
I am so glad they have a place to go in and get out of that freezing cold!!
The one on the right looks like he's got a bounty out for a fuzzy Han Solo.
Kitten in the background: "What about me? What are we doing? Can I do it? Hey! You forgot me!" -Christina not Carole >:3
Cat on the left: "You smell funny, Grigor Nikoláievich". Cat on the right: "WHA...? Sorry, Alyosha Mikáilovich, I thought you were a mirror".
I want them to not be cold though....Bring them in and keep them warm
Are there any calanders or posters or photos or books for sale of all these furfectionist furry bundles? No? Okay just send me one of each colour......yes?

low low lololw lolwowl, "act dignified will you, there is a camera"
I don't see how one cant tell the difference between these Siberian's and the Norway's. Siberians are so round!
"Okay, we let you stay long enough, you have until spring to get out!"
Did you say that bobcat was calling you names, Olga? He's gonna apologize to the lady!
Are Siberian Cats larger like the Main C**n or larger? They do look big.
Larger than the Maine C**n. Norwegian Forest Cats (NFC) are very large, very similar breed to Siberian (probably related). Recent DNA evidence shows that Maine C**n cats are descended from NFC. Early European colonists brought cats for mousing, probably more "average" sized. Now we know that the colonists' cats bred with NFC's living feral in northeast corner of North America. NFC's were left behind by Norwegian fishermen who had fished and camped along the East Coast.
Load More Replies...Even with all that fur they still need to sit in the sun to keep warm.
U do not have to be a professional photographer to get wonderful shots of these cats. They are the ART!
it is wrong to keep big cats from nature inside cats, like this at farm it is ok, but taking NFC to inside cat is wrong. Every wild animal has right to freedom, pandas too, more forest to animals , less humans or more control to humans in forest. At future has to be forest where humans are not allowed?
.... if you don't stop making that face, your forehead will be marked forever!
I have a white a black part NFC female absolutely beautiful, talks to me all the time and loves the snow! It just drops off her like she has an oil slik
Every one of these photographs is excellent! I do hope Alla puts out a calendar!
he's behind me, isn't he? I don't even have to look I know he's behind me again.

"When you're a cat, you're a cat all the way, from the first little pet to your last meowing day..."
I had a cat named Sebastian who looked a lot like the beauty on the left. Such a sweet boy he was too. Mine was a Main C**n tho.
he's making that stupid f*****g face again, isn't he? I can feel it...
All of these images with the cats marching forward should include a John Williams soundtrack.
Load More Replies...Are the giant short haired ones Siberians too! - ALL too cute for words!!!
Cat on the right: "Hey, Anatoly Petróvich! Have you ever heard that one about two Matrioshkas entering a Gulag...?" Cat on the left: "Hey, Anushka Fiodórova, have you ever heard that I F*CKING hate your jokes?".
The comment by Kent Obediah Hayton has a large (supposed) spoiler for The Last Jedi, just FYI. So don't click on it if you don't want to know.
I have such pity for people like Kent. I mean, how lonely and pathetic must one be to seek attention in such a manner?
Load More Replies...It's a separate BREED not species - a species can't interbreed to produce fertile offspring. If you're going to make a point of correcting people - get it right!
WOW most of them´re Sibirian Forest Cats, my Gizzy´s a Norwegian Forest Cat mix, but not as super-fluffy because he´s a pure indoor cat, if he went outside he´d probably be as fluffy in winter!!! Here he is with his patchwork brofur Thori (a shorthaired Maine C**n mix): 10308434_1...727907.jpg
Incredibly beautiful as they are, all those cats (even the kitties) sure as hell take no s**t from ANYONE. My kind of cat actually.
