I Illustrated The Sad Tale Of My Two Cute Puppies Who I Sadly Won’t See Grow Up

I have adopted 2 cute stray puppies, my brother, and his girlfriend were co-parents as well, it was a huge responsibility, but we fell in love with them completely.
But life is cruel, a disease took them away from us, and this is my sad story, if you can’t handle it, please close the link. But before you do that, please read my desperate message first.
Because of the lack of knowledge and money, the man who rescued the stray dogs didn’t bring them to the vet for vaccination which caused the whole pack (9 adult dog and 6 puppies) to be infected with the Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) – it’s fatal. An adult dog has a 60% chance to survive, but a young puppy has only 10%.
They gave us two puppies without knowing they were infected. Even though, we soon discovered the symptoms and brought them to the vet clinic… it was too late.
In Vietnam, we are lacking pet care, animal shelter and disease control protocols, many sick stray dogs are roaming the streets. We really hope to have better solutions for them, but right now Animal rescue is spontaneous and disorganized.
This comic is my prayer for my puppies.

Mate, I am sorry for your loss. This is nothing but heartbreaking. Losing a friend that young is always hard. I know it, we lost one of our cats at a very young age (as a kitten). As hard as it is, try to focus on the time you had together and be happy that you were able to meet them. Even if it was just for a short period of time. I wish you all the best and thanks for sharing your story with us.
Your kind words have reached out to more than just the OP. Thank you, Marc.
I had the same thing happen. We didn't know Monkey (a tortoiseshell female) had a congenital heart condition when we took her to be spayed at 8 months old. She couldn't take the anesthesia and passed away during surgery. It was devastating. Monkey was such a sweet little clown; I was looking forward to 20 fun years with her.
Sorry to hear that Kathryn. Losing a fur friend is always hard, but it is different when they are that young and especially if you can't prepare for it. I am not saying that it is easier, but with an old cat for example, you know that he or she will day at some point. You hope for the best, but you know. With a kitten or an undiagnosed condition it is extra hard. You weren't able to say good bye before and at least for me that always makes it even harder to deal with it. And yes, it always raises the question of meaning. It won't change anything, but it is always hard to accept. I am still struggling with some cat deaths after 10 or more years. Anyway - I wish you guys all the best and your Monkey is with some of our cats now, looking down from above, chasing balls of wool all day. I bet she’s happy now and she enjoyed her time with you, even if it was only 8 months!
I'm sorry for your loss, Kathryn. My heart breaks with yours.
Thanks Carc (Please get the joke)

Oh my. I am so sorry for the author's loss. So little words, yet so powerful. I am glad those pups knew what love was before they went to the Rainbow Bridge. (I shouldn't have read this one at work. Darn those onion cutting ninjas...)
