Two Pretentious Guys Think They’re Better Than The Waiter, Boss Makes Them Pay The 3k Dollar Bill
Never bite the hand that feeds you. That’s the lesson two super-jerks learned at a company party at a fancy restaurant, during which they abused their boss’s goodwill and generosity.
One waiter told the story online about how a couple of super-jerks thought that the fancy party food and drinks that were chosen for them by their boss just weren’t good enough. So they thought they could get away with ordering the priciest liquor available at the restaurant. It’s no wonder that they got publicly humiliated and were stuck paying the massive bill! There are days when evil wins, but this was a day that justice prevailed.
Two jerks spent the entire company party drinking very expensive liquor

600 dollars. That’s the bill a pair of indulgent chads racked up by drinking endless glasses of the jaw-droppingly expensive Johnnie Walker Blue whiskey and buying pricey wine for girls. The duo spent the entire evening whining about everything, from not getting enough bread to slow service. Not only that, they looked down on the restaurant’s servers, rubbed their ‘superiority’ in their faces and showed just how arrogant they really were.
When the time came to pay the piper, the company’s boss couldn’t believe his eyes because the bill was way bigger than what he could have imagined. The waiter who posted this story online revealed to him that he was bullied into bringing the two jerks whatever drinks they wanted. They’d told the waiter it was their party and that anything they say goes.
The boss wasn’t impressed and called the pair out on their greed, publicly humiliated them and made them pay for the entire outing, which came up to a staggering 3,000 dollars. Not only that, but he told the waiter to raise the gratuity from 18% to 25%. Can you spell ‘awesome’? Because that’s what this boss is.
Bored Panda reached out to the waiter who wrote up the story online and they told us some additional details about the evening in question. According to the waiter, the people at the company party were definitely “dressed nice”: “I believe he [the boss] was their father and it was a family business, hence why he could make them pay.”
The waiter from Texas exclaimed that their number one rule for dealing with wait staff would be: “Don’t mess with people who serve you your food.” They also suggested that they had a lot more stories to tell everyone in the future: “I will be posting quite a few in the next couple of months, once I have time to type them.”
A waiter revealed exactly what happened that evening, as well as how it ended
If you’ve ever worked in the service industry then you’ll know that some customers are far from delightful, as plenty of waiters would love to tell you. But even the people who think they’re being exemplary patrons have a thing or two to learn.
Vice collected advice from waiters who explicitly stated how they’d like to be treated by customers. For example, Anne hates it when customers try to get her attention by screaming her name across the restaurant. Meanwhile, all that Lisa wants is a tiny bit of politeness, like saying ‘hello’ back to her when she introduced herself. Sam’s biggest pet peeve at work is hearing customers mutter comments about his tip if anything goes wrong. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? If only the two chads had the sense not to throw their weight around, their wallets might be a lot fuller than they were before.
If you’re in the mood to continue reading about jerks getting their comeuppance, be sure to check out Bored Panda’s other posts about jerk bosses getting shamed and people being surprised by how much of a jerk they encountered.
Here’s how people reacted to the boss making the two jerks pay the whole bill
Wait, 30-40 people is only around 3k? With drinks and johnny blue added to it? Seems very reasonable.
OK, fair is fair. these two were obviously jerks, but I see some arrogance on behalf of the restaurant, too. They were obviously holding their teeth and more than happy to get all the money out of it. instead of checking with the boss/company manager in time. What if some random two guys walk in and pretend they are from the company and order around? If this happens to me, I would call the company's conract person ASAP and clear out the situation. Sure, those were rrally two arrogant company members who exploited the situation.but I see a restaurant employee, who probably told his manager for support, eho also took advantage of the situation.

Of course if they'd rather be unemployed......they could try and squirm out of it. They got away easy. They could have ended up in jail for the night.
Load More Replies...I don't believe this ever happened. The restaurant has a contract with the boss and if the two "chads" don't or can't pay, the one whose name and contact info is in the reservation (i.e. the boss) would be the one to get reported to the police.
I would not pay for anything outside the conract, that's what it is for, it is the venue responsability if the serve licor outside the agreement.

You are lucky to not have ever experienced it, people very often talk exactly like that, along with "don't you know who I am" and " I will get you fired". Often they don't even have the mba line, just the arrogance. Early of one decade often still has the tail end of the previous, and that was very 90's behaviour.

Well, it's all about stinginess and greed I guess. Someone once said to me he didn't get rich by spending his money. .

Wow. That's disgusting. Just makes me cringe. Some people can really just make you want to go, "UGH!"
In my last corporate position, over 30 years ago, my BOSS behaved similarly, far exceeding our branch office's authorization for the annual party. I knew nothing of it until I got the bill. I did some checking with the restaurant and found out who had gone with top-shelf liquor for himself and his secretary/mistress, etc. When I pointed out the problem to him, he denied it, then threatened to fire me if I reported it to the corporate office (I was the regional controller, it was my JOB). Eventually, he just took money out of MY departmental budget thanks to his friends at corporate, then wrote me up for alleged insubordination. I left the company and the corporate life a few months later.
1. Doubtful 2. Can we just give the poor actual people named Chad a break, please? They aren't all obnoxious dudebros.
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall to witness that "A*s chewing." My husband told me a story of a party of people that went to dinner for Valentines Day. There was one girl that was acting like these two douchebags...eating other peoples appetizers, insulting the waitress, changing orders midway through and complaining about the bill after. When checks were distributed (Each couple paid separately) miss witch took all the checks and scratched out the tips. Her boyfriend found out, apologized and left a huge tip for the waitress who had been nothing but tolerant all evening. Outside, the witch can be heard yelling "You're breaking up with me..OVER A WAITRESS?!?!" Better than money sometimes. You can't teach classy...
People that are financially high in the sky, but stay on the ground just like the 'little' man have my respect. A******s like in this situation is what i very much hate. The best medicine for them is to lose all their succeses and start all over down the ladder. People who used to be the little man make the best bosses, they know how life works and they know that everyone is a person. In the end the last pants we wear doesn't have any pockets, your money stays behind, your actions in life may come with you.
Sounds fake, the guy had a contract so he knew who was in charged. If I was the waiter I would have walked up to him and ask if that was okay. Not buying it one bit.
One thing I loved about working bar over service was if someone was being an arsehole you served everyone but them. One time I had a guy doing everything but snap his fingers at me (I can assure you he'd have lost them). Anyway I served everyone round him, kept looking at him and serving someone else. He eventually said very loudly and rudely "Oi! I've been waiting ages!" so I turned round smiling, leaned close to him and said "and you'll still be waiting at closing time unless you stop being an arsehole, no wait your turn patiently". Surprisingly he did and was pleasantly polite for the rest of the evening 😂 It's amazing what the threat of withholding someone's beer will do 😁😁
It's amazing how many herr di not understand the corporate world in the US. Laws differ between countries: what's illegal where you live is legal, and common, elsewhere. Sad that so many outside the US apparently don't understand this.
I used to do this when i was single and dating, if my date was rude to the waiter/waitress, no second date. Dining out is a great way to judge someone's character.
I don't know why this has been down voted, I absolutely would not have a second date with someone who was rude to a waiter on the first date!
