One year ago, I published a photography art project, ‘Comfort Zone.’ Today I decided to upload it on Bored Panda – a website that few years ago discovered and made my other photo idea called ‘Blow Job’ viral. While spending my summer at the seaside of Lithuania, I saw a photoshoot possibility to recite a lot of interesting stories about the real people in our society only from looking at the things that people bring with them to the beach. I had to come back to the beach with all of my photo equipment to document all the interesting people that got me so excited.

These sunbathing photos are not staged, and people did not suspect that I was photographing them. I chose to capture images of sleeping vacationers because it accurately represents the name of the project ‘Comfort Zone.’ Here are the photos with hidden faces to get an observer the opportunity to calmly scrutinize each and every detail without being distracted.

During our everyday life, we attempt to hide our deficiencies, both physical and psychological. However, once we find ourselves on a beach sunbathing – we forget about everything and start acting in an absolutely different manner. Is that because everyone else around you is doing the same?

On 5th of February, 2015 you’re all invited to the opening of the ‘Comfort Zone’ exhibition in gallery ‘nhow,’ Berlin.
