If you really want to be a pedantic a**e then at least try to be right: "Dinitrogen" and "nitrogen" refer to the same element, but "dinitrogen" specifically refers to the diatomic molecule of nitrogen, N₂. "Nitrogen" can refer to the element in general, including its gaseous form (N₂) or other nitrogen compounds like oxides.
