Load More Replies...I find that I rarely pity anyone with a disability because I'm often too utterly impressed with how they've adapted and live full and wonderful lives. I think its easy for us to pity disabled people because as non-disabled people we would probably pity ourselves for a while if our situation suddenly changed, which of course is natural for a time, but I find our human ability to adapt and be happy within that adaptation amazing.
Hey bored panda, what the hell. I share this page with a blind friend of mine but he did not understand what I was talking about because THE FULL TEXT OF THE JOKE IS A JPEG. HE CAN'T READ IT!!!! how stupid do you have to be to put up a joke by a blind guy about being blind that is inaccessible to blind people using a computer?
I found him doing this routine on YouTube and sent him it instead of your inaccessible sight.
Load More Replies...It would be interesting also to hear what people who have lost their eyesight think about being blind. Many years ago I discussed with a blind man who lost his eyesight when he was a teenager so he remembered what colors and various things looked like. So he was quite bored to all those 'how would you describe color red to a blind person' questions.
I've always noticed that people who have to surmount some manner of life obstacle have better perspective and are happier people
That's because you only hear about the successful people
Load More Replies...I have worked with blind (there is no other way of describing it) and severely disabbled people - It is wonderful to see a paralysed patient operate their entire room only by using a straw - open curtains - turn on TV, Summon a carer- i was Utterly priveliged to see and join in in this
One advantage of being blind: not having to look at Justine Bieber's face
Point number 9 just got me. It´s so true and it´s such an incredible thing to know people so deeply, without the illusion of beauty.
