Youtuber Mike The Intern attached his GoPro camera to his 6 year-old goldendoodle to see what the dog does all day after he leaves.
Sadly, when he watched the video later, his dog neither played with his possessions, nor happily run around the house. What Mike saw instead was heartbreaking: his dog was so sad to see the owner leave that he spent the day running around looking for Mike, howling at the ceiling for hours.
After seeing the footage all Mike could do was hold his doggie and cry, as he confessed on Reddit. Mike also said that he’s never leaving his pooch alone again.

Mike put a GoPro camera on his 6 year-old goldendoodle and left the house
Many expected some sort of dog party, then a frantic cleanup to make it look like nothing happened
However, seconds after Mike leaves, the dog starts to run around in distress, searching for his owner
“After I watched this, we held each other and cried. I am never leaving him again.”
The owner doesnt say goodby... They should have a ritual to say goodby and to say hellow. This would prepare the dog for the separation.
Indeed, we had a Rottie for 10 years, in order to eliminate the anxiety he always got a treat before we left the house, even for 20 minutes

I put in my few words before reading yours. I fully agree.
Load More Replies...Maybe he was freaked out by having something attached to his head?
Stupid not to help the dog to get rid of this nervousness and anxiety. He cannot take the animal with him everywhere he goes.
Walk properly your dog before leaving, use his energy. A dog behaving like that 6 years, shows preety much the incompetency of the owner.
This dog has severe separation anxiety. Clearly the owner loves his dog - address this, dude! Get help- talk to the vet. You can help him!
Oh ffs get a grip! Never leaving him alone again! What have you done to this poor animal to make it fret so badly to begin with?
This is not fretting badly - I had a rescued Dalmation who ripped up floored and chewed everything - some careful work cured the problem
Load More Replies...You guys need to stop bashing this guy for "not taking care of his dog enough". He had no idea this was happening.
I was hoping to see the dog when the owner returns! I was looking forward to see him so happy lol what a cute pup
Not unusual - separation anxiety. I would suggest a companion. Chat to a dog behaviourist. DO NOT make a fuss when leaving or arriving
He needs another dog to keep him company. Separation anxiety is a very real thing but taking him everywhere isn't the answer
I watched the video and the sounds of the dog whimpering bother my dog that they came to me and looked at me to see what was going on. I told them it was a video but I can tell it upset them. They are very compassionate animals.
When our poodle, PJ, was a baby we would put her in the kitchen and shut the doors when we left. She had toys, food and water, her bed some of our clothes. We talked to her and said goodbye and things like that as if we were talking to a human. On one occasion after being gone longer than usual, when we got home we seen where she'd chewed the bottoms of the doors trying to get out. Needless to say we try our best to never leave her alone again. Since we're both retired it's a lot easier for one of us to always be here or we take her with us and one of us will stay in the vehicle while the other one takes care of whatever it was we left home to do.
I think that if they had a second dog, they would have happier life. Who wants to be alone all day long?!
Dogs don't perceive time, but they are afraid of not being abandoned. If the dog was moved into a new place, might not feel safe there..
It would be nice to never leave your dog alone again. But most people don't work at places that allows pets. Try doggie daycare or walkers.
Maybe a playmate? Also Dog Tv provides sounds to sooth them and keep them interested and toys he can enjoy alone.
Dogs are more intelligent than a lot of owners give them credit for. When I had dogs I always said 'Bye & told them to good.
Maybe he should leave the TV or radio on for the dog to let him hear noise and see movement. We leave the radio on for our cat.
You all think hes acting that way cause he has something attached to his head? Thats making noises and flashes lights....????
Treats are not the answer. Dogs are not meant to be alone. If you go to work, have two dogs or two cats. They get lonely, just as we do.
This is so sad. I always say to mine "I'm coming back, see you in a bit" in a reassuring way, and she just goes to her bed.
Leaving Christmas tree lights on while no one in the house, just stupid.
Dogs are pack animals , I think he needs another dog , to play with and keep him company.
so dumb, the dog just wants the owner to take off that dumb gopro camera that hurts his neck.
Give that dog some cannabis to ease the stress or anxiety. F**k the government.
Feeding your dog marijuana can kill it or make it very sick. It is very toxic to dogs and cats. I'm not kidding, do some research.
