This Professor’s Tweets After No One Showed Up To His Class Are Going Viral
What does a professor do when no one shows up to class? Tweet. A professor tweets. Well, at least that’s what professor Adam Heath Avitable does.
Yesterday, when Adam came to class and no one showed up, he got suspicious: “Did I tell them no class? Is today Thursday? Am I dreaming?” Even though Adam says his course is non-traditional and usually anywhere from 1-10 people show up, he did not expect no one to come at all. So, to keep himself busy he starting tweeting, and we must say, the tweets are pretty hilarious! No wonder the guy is also a comedian. Check out the full “#Classwatch2017” Twitter story below.

Share on FacebookIs this how professors feel when people skip on you them? I feel so bad.. I won't skip from now on! maybe..
Big Squishyhugs for this awesome teacher for sticking out this challenging day out.
After 15 minutes the teacher/professor should go away. I would.
At this point, I'd put a note on the door saying that from now on, every missed class will mean 5% will be taken off their final grade. They are paying this man to teach, they owe him the courtesy of showing up now and then.
I know some college modules do that. Tutorials specifically
Load More Replies...He should have given them a pop quiz. Everyone that misses without a doc note gets a zero
Education is such a priceless privilege, it's sad to see it abused.
Wooww, that was a little funny but the ending was just sad, like wtf happened. He should just go on a vaca for a week without a substitute and give em all a pop quiz wheb he comes back. Just fail em all.
The professor's tweets are funny, but if this represents the respect that students have for classes, for education, for other people (yes the professor is a person) then it goes a long way in explaining the situation that we are seeing in the US today and the college must be promoting and allowing this as the students seem to have no concern about consequences or the knowledge that they have forfeited for themselves.
I doubt they were studying any type of math on those computers... they didn't even show any remorse for being late when it's clear the teacher had been waiting... he should have turned the computers off and said they were broken, then they'd have no choice but to stay for the lecture...
Lol so funny. Will I have to face all this now that I think of being a lecturer.

What if it turns out that his students got there before he did and thought the class had been canceled because he wasn't in the room?
Wait!! But what happened? Where DID everyone go????? Did he ever find out?
Just to add, there actually is NO rule that you can leave if a professor is late. They can come in after 30 minutes and if no one is there, or one or two stayed, call for a test. That happened to me (I stayed) and they ones who left went to the president of the school who asked them to show him in the student handbook this "rule". Which, of course, was not there. They got their zeros and learned a lesson.
It does not solve the mystery. Haha. I hope he had found out the reason why. It's hard to move on without getting any closure. ;P
Awww!!! So what happened?? But i must say, he was lonely, but very entertaining and very funny.
If I were teaching that class, I would give the class a pop quiz the next time they showed up. I tell them that the quiz covers what the last class was about. When they all can't answer the questions, they can get a big fat F. Either that or I would inform me class that attendance will be 1/3 of they final grade. It is extremely rude of these college students to insult a professor in this way. Shame on them!
But...but...but.... where is the explanation??? Where were the students??? Inquiring minds want to know!
That was funny. Kudos to the professor for sticking around bt I wouldn't have. My solution? I play sick for three or four days and make them responsible for the material... then give them a bomb of a test to flunk them all at the end of the class. Or at least flunk all of those that fail to get an A or a B.
awwww he's so sweet. How could anyone abandon him!? Find him a new forever school!!
atleast he still has salary even if there's no student to teach on.. haha. algebra really scares many student! XD, but seriously what was the course of the students, that they didn't attend their class? XD
children need to learn limits. otherwise the boys are going to have a REALLY hard time in the military service and the girls will not have happy marriages. discipline is an important virtue and, if you think about it, teaching discipline is also a sign of respect towards the children.
If we skipped class, we flunked the course. We were permitted one excused absence, period. Have colleges gotten that soft?
Awww I'm already out of high school and passed algebra but I'd still go listen to him teach poor guy
No Martin Luther King day was Jan. 16, the third Monday in January. January 19 was a Thursday.
Load More Replies...Im so confused.... So was he in the wrong classroom or something??? How could no one show up? Did he get a reply to his email?
Oh I just got why no one showed up. Lol it was an online math class. Poor thing
He is a foolish guy, a funny one though. He didn't have any obligations to stay when there weren't any students.
Well if it's due to the weather I wouldn't show up. End of story.
What, precisely, was the class supposed to be? A lecture on First Amendment Rights, and none of the snowflakes could stand hearing it??? LOL
You all are slow look at the date it says January 19th 2017. That was Martin Luther Kings day which is a federal holiday no one had school!!!

Load More Replies...hmm, it really all depends on one's willingness to learn. In Germany for instance, college is free and yet there are always students turning up for class. Why? what motivates them to do so? The willingness to learn.
