    Nick’s fiery message came after an X user called him “godless and confused” in a tweet about his gay character in The Last of Us.

    The HBO TV drama tells the love story of Bill (played by Nick) and Frank (played by Murray Bartlett), who are both survivors of a fungal brain infection.

    Nick won an Independent Spirit Award for the role in 2024.

    Last week, an X user criticized Nick for the character in the hit TV drama.

    “I can’t believe you played a gay guy on The Last of Us. I will definitely not be watching Parks and Rec again,” they wrote in a homophobic tweet shared in the middle of Pride Month.

    The original video from the comedy show featured Ron throwing a computer into a dumpster after getting frustrated over Google Earth.

    Earlier this month, the doctored anti-gay version of the video was shared by conservative media figure Michael Flynn Jr.— the son of retired Army lieutenant general and Trump’s former U.S. national security advisor, Michael Flynn.

    Michael’s version had an LGBTQ+ pride flag edited over the laptop screen.

    Nick Offerman is the best. And I teared up at the end of the TLOU episode. Especially with the way that episode started I was thinking: OMG, it's like Ron Swanson finally got his wish to be the last man on Earth. But the human dignity and depth he gave to that character was just gorgeous.
