I often wonder why people get tattoos, whether large or tiny, and whether or not I know the person who has the said tattoo. It certainly takes a level of commitment and dedication that I find fascinating to put something on your body permanently, and endure what I assume must be a lot of discomfort. People often pay a lot of money for tattoos so I'm constantly tempted to ask, "What drove you to do that?"
Any body modification is fascinating... that's why I asked the members of the Bored Panda community to share theirs!

Yeah, this is a great example of the dilemma we have as tattoo artists. We want to give the customer what they want, while making the tattoo age well. Without a strong outline this will not age well. We error on the side of education prior to inking. Some customers acknowledge the that it will age like sh!t, while others request changes. In the end, we try to blend customer service with art, it's a tough balance.

Yup ocd kicker, not sure if it's the way the photo is taken or not. But as an artist I'm saying this is definitely not centered properly, one of my pet peeves even!

All that matters is that you love it, whether just for aesthetics or meaning! Skulls aren't my thing, but I appreciate the way it was done. I think it accentuates your waist so nicely! As a lady, if I were to get any more aesthetic tattoos other than microblading and upper eyeliner, I would get curved blades of grass that cascaded diagonally along my back. And for sentimental reasons, I'd get something significant to do with my daughter who passed away. In the meantime, my husband and I have matching rings with her ashes so her old body can go everywhere with us for the rest of our days.

The way I describe it is this...The better it feels when a lover touches you there, the more its gonna hurt. Not 100% accurate, but close. Got one on my back over my shoulder blade and it felt like a mild abrasion. I was reading a book while it was done. Got one on my chest and it felt like a lit cigar held against me.
