In every millennial's life, there is that one day and that one time that you say something to yourself or out loud and then stop for a second in awe. Whatever the sentence was, you couldn’t have imagined saying it unless, well, you’re middle-aged. Be it “I am looking forward to going to bed” or “Why is the music so loud in here?!” and then all of a sudden, the moment of realization hits and the lightbulb switches on: I am definitely ageing. Went thru a similar feeling. Had to get a newer phone since my old one was acting up. Wanted to make sure it had a headphone jack so i could insert any headphones in it. Got the phone and it didn't. My mom offered me some buds which i begrudgingly used. I've never liked buds.they hurt and never sit right. Then had the fun task of syncing them which i never needed to do before so my mom had to walk me thru it and i ranted how just being able to plug them in was better. So yeah that was my im old moment

I just recently spent an hour, yes an hour, comparing the various types of different mattress protectors... the quality, the thickness, the fabric, the price etc. AN HOUR. When I finally decided on which one I wanted I came home like a child at Christmas... stripped the bed instantly so I could put it on. I even phoned my friend in Melbourne to tell him about it because he, too, is in the market for a decent mattress protector. When the hell did this happen?

I recently moved into a new condo that I'm renting, I'm flat broke due to the move, and my mom (who doesn't have much money herself) sent me new sheets, a comforter, pillowcases and a super comfy mattress pad as a surprise early birthday present. I literally jumped for joy. And pulled something in my back in the process.

I refuse to throw away old chargers, instruction manuals for devices I know completely how to work, packets of nails/ screws with only 2 or 3 left in them, weird things I find lying around the house that look important but I have no idea what they are used for etc 'just in case'. They're all kept in a drawer in the kitchen which I call "dads drawer" but which my wife calls "the drawer of useless crap!"

I had a thing for "containers" - small trinket boxes, itty bitty boxes made of woods or shell or ceramic, etc., from the time I was in first or second grade. I collected them and put things in them and sometimes put the cute little boxes into the bigger cute little boxes... Lol, by the time I was in college I had graduated (ha ha) to "I can't throw this actually useful cardboard box away - it's too good a box!" Oh, boxes, how I love you...

Instead of trolling around clothing stores and getting our nails done or something my sister and I went to Michael's to buy yarn on sale because I've taken up knitting and went to Lowe's and Home Depot to look at appliances to replace to one's in the houses we own. We had a very interesting and long conversation about why fridges being connected to wifi be stupid and the pros and cons of counter depth fridges. Then we went and had salads for lunch instead of cheese burgers because or metabolisms aren't what they use to be and drove away in our Toyotas. I'm 28 and she's 29 lol

Not sure if this counts but my fiance and I love to go antiquing. My last trip was over 200 dollars but i got a box worth of stuff including 2 coke glasses that look like the old fountain glasses with metal handle and everything. I also like buying vintage records. They sound so nice.

well, no boomers in general aren't bad. The problem that millennials (used to) have was essentially the same issue that the generation between them and the one after millennials have with each other --- that pattern. It's far easier to notice the differences and contrast with them than it is to accept them.

As a kid, I was always disappointed that my mom made sandwiches for road trips, instead of getting to go to McDonalds off the highway. Last long drive with my partner: "honey, I have sandwiches, grapes and banana bread. What do you want?" I then stopped talking as it dawned on me: I have turned into my mother. (Which is great, because she is absolutely incredible)

We get to an age when our bodies start to wear out and this is most of what makes me 'feel old' Some of it is nostalgia for the music of my youth but I truly believe that this generation is the best so far. They've been on the frontline during this pandemic and kept all of us safe, they haven't complained and they have stepped up and made things happen. Us 'oldies' should be more grateful..

Omg I feel this! I find myself constantly grumbling about the "youth of today" who are all somehow stepping out on their own with no clue about living as an adult. They have no idea how to do housework, have terrible work ethics, and don't know how household bills work. Its so weird because I'm literally only in the late 20s and am talking about 17-22 year olds. Theres literally about a 10 year difference max.

They've been on the frontline during this pandemic and kept all of us safe, they haven't complained and they have stepped up and made things happen. Us 'oldies' should be more grateful..

I realized I had crossed over to the adult side when I saw two little kids playing leapfrog, and instead of thinking 'aww that looks like fun', I thought 'one of them will miss and land on the other kid, and then they'll start fighting'.

I work with kids and have to break up arguments, and have learned to intervene before they start to fight, but I didn't even know these kids.

Omg I feel this! I find myself constantly grumbling about the "youth of today" who are all somehow stepping out on their own with no clue about living as an adult. They have no idea how to do housework, have terrible work ethics, and don't know how household bills work. Its so weird because I'm literally only in the late 20s and am talking about 17-22 year olds. Theres literally about a 10 year difference max.
