When you think of insects, you might picture tiny bugs scurrying by, barely worth a second glance. But through the lens of photographer Dara Ojo, these small creatures become something extraordinary. His close-up shots reveal incredible details, vibrant colors, and patterns that are easy to miss with the naked eye.
Dara, a self-taught macro photographer from Nigeria now based in Canada, focuses on insects and arthropods to show just how fascinating and important they are. Get ready to see bugs like you’ve never seen them before!

The water drop at the eye gives you a small idea of how much the pic has been magnified!

Wolf Spider
I strongly dislike these. Normally spiders don't bug me (😁) but these things are huge and they jump at you.
Wolf spiders range in size from the huge Australian kind right down to tiny little fellas you can barely see. This one appears to be a mid-sized species.

Why so so many of these photos look like the insect just got out of the shower?
Because wild insects rarely fly when it's raining, so it's much easier to photograph them.

These are the WORST if you ever get them. Salt (first, let sit overnight with plug) then boiling water down the drain and then plug overnight. Upon opening, have pots of hot water to pour down. Plug again. Rinse and repeat. If you have a disposal, make sure you use a cleaner regularly.
So beautiful and amazing! And right under our noses. Thank you for bringing these creatures to us. More like this please.
Wow - just wow! Thank you so much. Only, I think some of these might give me nightmares... 😉
I would have appreciated a species identification, other than a generic 'moth' or 'weevil', but these are stunning
Me to with the moths ,so many shown ,n only two they identified them ,I’d love to know , so i can find out which of them we have in the countryside in uk , so beautiful aren’t they
