Kate Beckinsale’s observably slimmer frame has reignited old speculation about Ozempic.

The 51-year-old Pearl Harbor star is facing ongoing scrutiny over her thinning figure, which drew attention last year when she appeared on a red carpet in a corseted pink puffball skirt that accentuated a protruding clavicle and spare neck area.

Highlights
  • Kate Beckinsale’s noticeably slimmer figure has reignited speculation about Ozempic and surgery.
  • A recent photo showing the 51-year-old actress in a skimpy green outfit drew online concern.
  • Her visibly thin appearance has sparked a wave of social media commentary, both critical and worried.

Now, a new photo posted to X on July 2 shows Beckinsale in a skimpy green outfit with little visible body fat, prompting fresh waves of concern and criticism.

Like all celebs who shed weight quickly, the post on X steered the conversation toward Ozempic.

A netizen summed up the general sentiment in the thread when they wrote, “Stop with the Ozempic.”

Another took it a step further after calling it “heartbreaking,” suggesting that there was more to Beckinsale’s look than just the appetite-suppressing dr*g.

One went on to say that, despite the fact that she had indeed lost a lot of weight, Ozempic was “not her friend.”

Kate Beckinsale has on more than one occasion admitted that all was not well

The post’s appearance follows earlier footage on Instagram by the star herself, depicting her in cut-off denim shorts while walking her dog.

The footage, as reported by Page Six, drew a spate of commentary. “Oh sweetheart, I honestly think you have a problem!!! You don’t look good. I think you honestly need help,” a netizen wrote in response to the since-removed video.

Beckinsale admitted that all was not well.

“Yes I do. I’m going through one of the most deeply painful times of my life. The body keeps the score,” she wrote.

The actress, at one point, became hostile towards netizens who commented on her weight

The outlet further reported that the star abandoned her benevolent tone at some point.

In response to a netizen who claimed she was “not criticizing” but Beckinsale had lost “too much weight lately,” the actress fired back with:

“If it’s not a criticism, it’s a passive aggressive completely unnecessary opinion from someone I don’t know who knows nothing about my circumstances. So next time you feel like commenting on someone’s body, I suggest you keep it to your f*cking self.”

The “circumstances,” the actress said from her hospital bed in March 2024–after springing a leak in her food pipe–included her stepfather Roy Battersby passing away, and her mother’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

She has been “unrecognizable” since 2024

In October 2024, Beckinsale was spotted at Variety’s Power of Womenevent.

Bored Panda reported at the time that her fans had trouble recognizing her, due to her gaunt appearance.

Some of her fans compared her to her previous look when they wrote: “Kate Beckinsale was absolutely beautiful in the Serendipity movie. I don’t recognize her here.”

“I don’t recognize her here,” the critic concluded.

“I audibly gasped when I realized this was Kate Beckinsale. She looks unrecognizable. I hope she’s well,” wrote another.

At the time, Beckinsale blamed her look entirely on a health issue. She wrote:

“I have a condition called mast cell activation syndrome which is actually a massive daily struggle and means I react to hundreds of things badly.

Netizens think she is “aging disgracefully”

Some of her fans have since subscribed to her reasons. In response to the recent X post, one user wrote:

“Her mother, the lovely Judy Loe, has stage four cancer and is terribly thin now. I wonder if this is having some sort of psychological effect on Kate?”

“I didn’t know who this is so [I] looked her up, she has lost a lot of weight, I hope she is OK,” empathized another.

But not everyone bought into the alleged causes of her look, as one critic wrote:

“Talk about aging disgracefully. She looks anorexic with too much filler in her lips.  Why do ‘celebs’ all need to wear the cross while doing something vulgar.”

She mentioned a medical condition…not to mention her mother has a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer…I suspect this isn’t ozempic but a series of events causing severe mental distress. The body follows the mind.

[most] people in the street don’t walk up to strangers to comment on their looks but have no problem doing so online. It’s rude, obnoxious, and sick, and I think we oughtta band together, hunt them down, and then comment negatively on how RHEY look and see whether they like how it feels. If they don’t, then perhaps they’ll change their behavior, and if it doesn’t to her them, then I think they deserves a beating until it DOES bother them, what the hell is sooo wrong with them that they believes this behavior is perfectly okay? What on earth did their parents teach them, and WHY? It’s such disgusting behavior I can’t even fathom why someone would do it. Keep your comments to yourselves, аssholes!

Here we go again with an article commenting on people's looks. Can we just leave people alone and stop trying to force them to conform to some unreaslistic expectation of "normal" that is pushed on us by the media? People come in different shapes and sizes, and people's appearance changes as they get older. Less "celebrity" body shaming and more cat photos please BP!
