Channeling her inner Bette Davis, JoJo evoked some old Hollywood glam by wearing a vintage-inspired outfit and big pearls around her neck.
Her hair was styled in a voluminous bob, and some bright red lipstick completed the look.
Many were surprised to see her look as she gave a nod to the 1930s actress Bette Davis, as well as singer Kim Carnes.

JoJo shared a snippet of the cover’s video and asked her fans if she should release her rendition of Bette Davis Eyes on Spotify.
“After performing this song live and then seeing the beautiful response to it, I decided to go record a studio vocal,” she wrote on social media.
“I’m undecided if I should release it on Spotify or not,” she continued. “Would you want me to?!!!🤍 if you would, I’m thinking maybe end of this week?”

Fans showed up in the comments section with support, saying, “The song, the look, everything perfection.”
“Need it on Spotify with immediate effect,” said another fan.
But naysayers expressed disapproval and claimed, “I think it’s time to retire.”
“Why is she dressed as if she was going to audition for Oklahoma?” one asked.
“If heartbreak had a portrait, it’d be this,” read another comment.
“Are you calling this genre ‘straight pop?’” one asked.
“Jesus christ,” one commented online, “who on her team keeps wanting to humiliate her”

Many even thought “she’s been tradwifed,” and said, “Not jojo becoming a trad wife in front of my eyes.”
“JoJo Siwa going from Goth punk pop wannabe to housewife was not on my 2025 bingo card,” one said.
“Hey so jojo becoming a trad wife was not oh my 2025 bingo card,” another agreed.
“Ignoring the trad wife allegations, as this is probably a tribute costume, she does not have the voice to be a singer anymore,” another commented. “It’s totally destroyed.”

“Trad wife” has become the title for a woman embracing traditional gender roles and domesticity. They often value homemaking and family life over having a career and ambitions.
Viral content creators, who have adopted the “trad wife” lifestyle, have gained popularity for their stay-at-home lives. They maintain a vintage wardrobe and even flaunt their submission to their husbands.

Earlier this year, JoJo was captured performing her cover of Bette Davis Eyes, while her current boyfriend Chris Hughes was in the audience.
She changed the lyrics of the popular song to say Chris Hughes’ eyes while her Big Brother co-star was watching in the audience.
With her days of being a child star in the rear-view mirror, JoJo has seemingly been undergoing a personal and professional transformation with her entry into adulthood.
Her steamy music video for Karma, which dropped last year, marked her pivot away from kid-friendly content.
However, the Dance Moms alum revealed in a recent interview that her career was being “guided” over the past year.
The former child star said she had “a breakdown” as her career was being “guided” by others in recent months

“I’ve, you know, listened to outside opinions and gone certain ways and done certain things that maybe I wouldn’t have necessarily done, choices I wouldn’t have necessarily made,” she said on the We Need to Talkpodcast in April.
“But I did, and I trusted because I wanted to do essentially what my boss said,” she added.
JoJo admitted during the interview that her onstage moment of seemingly chugging alcohol in the middle of a performance was fake.
“I had a bit of a breakdown and I cried, and I said, ‘Why am I pretending that I’m drinking alcohol and being crazy? I’m a good girl.’ I’m saying I’m drinking Fireball on stage, but it’s apple juice,” she claimed.

She asserted that everything about the Karma music video was based on her direction and her preferences. But “everything after the day ‘Karma’ was released was not me,” she added.
The Bulletproof singer also revealed that she no longer identifies as a lesbian.
“I think the most beautiful term now is queer,” she told E! Newsafter her relationship with Chris became official this year.
“I think queer is an umbrella of, ‘Look, I’m just me.’ And I think the most beautiful thing about the LGBTQIA community is love is love. And that goes both ways,” she said.

Look, she's still young and trying to find herself. Is she cringe? Yes. But she's also doing this in the public eye as a public figure (though she really doesn't have to be). I'm old and still trying to figure myself out. The kneejerk reactions between different things is jarring but people are complicated and, again, she's still young.
I'm an elder GenX. I don't think that the process of self-exploration ever really ends.
