Once, the teachers in my grade printed a huge version of my third grade teacher making a weird face on cardboard. She had it on her window and it scared so many poor, unsuspecting children in the playground.

In the top picture I can't make my brain see anything other than eyelids, like he's looking down. The bottom picture looks like he suddenly woke up which is even worse.

Here's a little tip if you're drawing/painting or sculpting a human being: The top of the iris should be partially covered by the upper eyelid. If it's not, the subject ends up looking alarmed or shocked. We're programmed to be unnerved by that (herd protection, I think). It's why so many people are creeped out by baby dolls- it's the eyes. If the pupil is only touching the bottom eyelid and the top of the iris is visible... it's essentially a murder face (which is one of the reasons why that McD's happy meal mascot looks so terrifying).

It could be Celtic style. You look at a lot of Celtic illuminated manuscripts and they have eyes like that.

His left hand is gently resting on a bird’s head, and his right is on a bird’s back. It’s a very friendly sculpture until you can make out the eyes.

It took me and hour to find this pic on tons of CDs I have things backed up on but WOW..I have one for you to look at! I was with my mom, I was driving her to a doctor appointment. We were stuck in traffic so she was taking pictures of "downtown", as this was thrilling for her (because she wasn't driving...) She doesn't know how to use her phone to take pics too well so we have 30 of them of the floor, steering wheel, etc. She sent this to me all freaked out later on. We have no idea WTF this could be. It was traffic, all cars had drivers and were inching along. This photo terrifies her. We have showed a dozen people and guessed ..dog? Someone moving quickly and making a blur? But there is NO driver and there was nothing weird when she took it. This just freaks me out. creepy-hea...c72950.jpg
