With Spooktober finally here and Halloween right around the corner, it’s officially time to start carving pumpkins, work on your costume, and, of course, brush up on your storytelling skills – some would argue that there is no better time for scary stories than this.
If you’re more fearful of not having enough stories to tell, rather than the stories themselves, you’re in luck, as today we’re shedding light on quite a few of them. Scroll down to find some terrifying tales, as shared by the ‘Scary Stories’ Instagram account, on the list below and expand your selection of chilling accounts to scare your friends and family with this spooky season.
Below you will also find Bored Panda’s interview with a behavioral scientist at the Recreational Fear Lab at Aarhus University in Denmark and in the Psychology Department at Arizona State University, Dr. Coltan Scrivner, who was kind enough to answer a few of our questions about why people like scary stories.

The wife, unfortunately. Like how Norman Bates was also his mother.
Load More Replies...Well that's obviously the Mother who pretended to speak like a child. The husband said she was effectively traumatised and going a bit mad.
Just in case they get sick and die or from an accident to cover funeral expenses.
Load More Replies...I thought the husband was lying about the child being gone so the insurance salespeople would not call back. Once you are on a call list, you tend to get spammed with spam.
This would be creepier if it was written in a way that humans actually spoke. Why would you call out worriedly that your wife is on the phone?
May not have been the first phone call she's made wanting something for Robert.
Load More Replies...That's more intriguing than scary but you would have to play it with complete silence imo as your only other available sense is now hearing.
I found four games that match the description: The Voidness, Blindside, The Vale, and Perception
Load More Replies...I wish they had named the game. This could be helpful for empathising with actual blind people.
Not so much creepy as it is silly. A much better idea would be that, but in 3rd person, where you could see your character, but you were responsible for making noises by clicking on things on screen to lead them around. It could be a great source of tension if some menacing presence was silently approaching, and it was up to you to get the blind character to safety just by doing things to lead them away.
Can you imagine if you were deaf and bought this without knowing?? 🤣🤣 I love the concept of the game. (I have hearing loss and tinnitus in both ears, plus neuropathic blind spots in my vision as well as a whole collection of other disabilities and medical issues, just incase someone feels my comment isn't appropriate.)
Really, hope whoever comes up with this stupid idea get arrested and fired. That is invasion to priorities.
Did you mean an invasion of privacy? Autocorrect might be the culprit.
Load More Replies...So the school was filled with perverts. Every teacher that accessed the webcams outside of instruction time should have been charged.
The FBI closed the investigation claiming that there was insufficient evidence of criminal intent.
Load More Replies...Lawsuit much? I have a little plastic thing on my laptop that slides over the camera so that nobody can ever see anything unless I'm in a zoom meeting for work, then it gets covered again.
I was just thinking the same. I’ve had a cover over my desktop or laptop camera long before the pandemic ever started. I open out when I need to jump into a Zoom meeting and cover it right back up when done. Nobody needs to be staring at my fat a*s while I’m sleeping or watching a movie or cartoons. 😜🤦♂️
Load More Replies...Since I value my own privacy over most things, I'm not even sure what I would do if I were one of those students
I sincerely hope that every single one of the school staff thst were involved in this, were terminated, arrested, charged, tried, convicted, and had their certificates and/or licenses struck off.
This smells suspiciously like an urban legend to me. I'm going to see if I can find a source on this.
I’m not sure I buy this. What was the School? This has to be illegal.
As a teacher, eww. Just no. Insane invasion of privacy and why on earth would you want to watch them at home?
Many people can’t wait for October to start. For them, few things feel better than a chilly fall breeze, a cup of cocoa or a pumpkin spice latte, and shades of yellow, brown, and red all around. But more than that, some people can’t wait for the spooky season’s activities, and it’s not hard to see why – whether it’s a visit to a pumpkin patch or a ghost hunt, we’re here for it. According to Statista, more than seven-in-ten people in the US are, too, as that’s how many are reportedly planning to take part in Halloween activities this year.
This is an opportunity for an underwater breathing apparatus that does not require you to carry an oxygen tank imo, hope someone figures out how to synthetically create that net.
I suspect that wouldn't work, unless you have a huge bubble, which would require like several parachute-like domes or something. Spiders and other arthropods have much much lower metabolisms than humans and other mammals. I kept snails and pillbugs in a jar with a few holes punched in the lid for years. Humans require much more oxygen. Similarly, I think it's been noted that marine mammals (dolphins and whales, for example) have to remain air-breathing because, even if they could somehow redevelop gills, those gills could not provide enough oxygen to keep them alive.

Yeah but did he make it out of the prison? There are many other gates he’d need to squeeze through.
The cartoon makes him look like a depiction of Tooms from the XFiles.
In October, an abundance of creative individuals start decorating their homes; and their family members, for that matter, putting them in all sorts of Halloween costumes. More of Statista’s data reveals that this year, US adults are planning to spend roughly $104 on Halloween-related items – a sum that was only higher last year (over the last two decades, at least).
I love that the US has cleaned up so many of our waterways that they actually get clear enough to see the bottom of them, instead of them being so polluted they catch fire. I’m old enough to remember when pollution was getting really bad, especially when I lived in Los Angeles in the seventies, pre-catalytic converters and unleaded gas, and when anti-littering and anti-pollution laws were being passed but not really enforced. I remember smog days at school, when PE classes were held inside. They were the days the area had smog alerts, when they advised that children the elderly, and anyone with a breathing-related condition NOT go outside. Apocalyptic, isn’t it? I remember how city streets would be full of litter and cigarette butts and dog poop, and back roads would have litter dumped all along the sides. I remember waterways that stunk and air in cities that was brown and also stunk. I also remember acid rain. The old days weren’t necessarily better days, in regards to pollution, believe me. At least now we can see city skylines, instead of them being obscured by gray-brown smog, and large bodies of water can become crystal clear instead of turning into bogs of trash and waste and chemical runoff. We haven’t fixed all of it yet, we’re still ingesting microplastics instead of breathing in lead, but we have done a hell of a lot in the last half century, and it shows. We just need to now address what large corporations and other countries are doing about pollution and get seriously cracking about lowering the CO2 levels in our atmosphere.
One year the deep cold came before the snow and for a little while you could walk on the ice and, if it were there, spot a needle on the bottom the ice was so clear and strong.
You can see shipwrecks from the air off the coast of the Outer Banks of North Carolina too.
And even in the middle of summer the temperature is extremely cold because the lake is so deep. So cold that diving in to it just makes one rush to get out as fast as you can.
I'm old enough to remember the TV ads reminding people of the danger and to remove the doors from any old refrigerators they were disposing of.
I remember the Punky Brewster episode where Cherie got stuck in the refrigerator.
Load More Replies...the Back to the Future machine was first planed to be a fridge. Not a de lorean. but they decide to change, to avoid having kids locking themself into fridge...

Load More Replies...Did anybody else think about the refrigerator in the book IT reading this
What does being trapped inside a refrigerator and being unable to break the seal to escape have to do with the outer walls being magnetic?
Magnetic doors can be opened from the inside. Children can escape if they try hiding in an empty fridge. I remember when it was a way too common tragedy for children to die in old latching refrigerators. Junk yard owners had to make sure anything lockable from the outside only had doors removed.
Load More Replies...Where I live it's also illegal to put an old fridge outside without removing the door.
Alot of care shown there. Must be great respect or a whole lot of love by the people applying that.
And a whole lot patience. That must have taken a while to create.

While some people love decorating their homes or working on their costumes the most, others get most excited about telling spooky stories; and there is arguably no better time to share them than Halloween.
But those who do not belong to the latter category might not understand why one would want to listen to a bunch of terrifying tales. Discussing what in the world draws people to such content, Dr. Coltan Scrivner told Bored Panda that people are naturally drawn to information about threats – it’s a phenomenon called morbid curiosity. “Terrifying content by its nature provides a wealth of information about threats,” he noted.
The murders, a nazi terrorist group. The victims (except the last one, who was a policewoman) were all immirants, mostly from Turkey (one or two from Greece). They were shot in the middle of day in their self-owned shops. I am so truely ashamed to say that for YEARS, German police did not suspect rascist motivation, even when the families and immigrant communites got the message. Instead, police suspected the victims were part of organised d**g crimes and therefore assisinated by some mafia groups, and kept questioning the families about their dead father's criminal businesses. They killed a total of 10 people in 7 cities and only got caught after setting their camping van on fire. The two men died, the women survived and was convicted to life sentence. It is likely that not all supporters/criminals have been detected.
The swabs they were buying weren't rated for medical or forensics applications as they weren't sterile.
I remember this one going throught the news back then. They were totally puzzled, as NOTHING connected any of the crimes she was accused of, they were, pretty much, everything murder. When they discovered the reason she appeard to have killed about everyone who was murdered in europe at that time, the embarassment on the guys' faces at the press conference were priceless.

Kathy Bates is really good at portraying characters that are just off. I expect in real life, she's a very nice person.

“Enjoying the feeling of fear is related to one's level of sensation-seeking, which is their predisposition to experience extreme sensations,” the expert continued. “However, many people enjoy fearful situations not just for the feeling of fear, but also for the learning experience that happens when you safely experience fear. Safely experiencing fearful situations allows one to learn about their own reactions to fear and how to better control those reactions.”

Often, humans ourselves are the truest monsters in this world. Perhaps, our brain can only put up a human facade for less than 10 minutes, after which our human skin starts to slip and the true monster shines through.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Dr. Scrivner noted that the extent to which a person finds scary stories interesting depends on the degree of morbid curiosity that they have. And judging by the fact that the ‘Scary Stories’ Instagram account alone has close to 75k followers, it’s safe to assume that many people are plenty curious.
Just call it "the hot hole challenge" or something equally stupid and people will be falling all over themselves to do it for internet clout.

Not as popular as Okigahara Forest. Also known as suicide forest, hundreds of people visit to end their lives. Very creepy place.
*Aokigahara, but this trend started later. It started because of a Novelle in which two lovers committed double suicide in this forest.

There are many of these in the oceans. They are brine pools. Super dense water from salts makes them separated from the upper portion of water. The organisms in them include bacteria/archaea, viruses that infect the bacteria/archaea, and multicellular animals that have symbiotic bacteria to use the methane.
I bet SOMETHING has found a way to live in it, just no-one has been able to explore it....

I get to deal with sleep paralysis as a symptom of my ptsd. It super sucks being trapped in a nightmare, unable to move, while hearing and feeling my husband trying to wake me. It's terrifying.
I used to suffer in my teens too. Even after learning about it, going through the experience was always terrifying each time. The earliest episode I remember was the feeling of someone massaging my head. My dad would do so when I was sick with headaches so I assumed it was him but the only problem is I could hear him snoring away in his room at the time. Also I slept with my head at the foot of the bed then so I had the intense fear of someone being at my head but not being able to check or scream for help. The last several episodes were of someone choking me with a pillow. I would scream and try to break free but to no avail as neither sound or any body movement could be elicited. Luckily I haven’t experienced any sleep paralysis episodes in several years now. But instead they’ve been replaced with vivid nightmares related to my childhood trauma where I would scream, cry, and trash so loudly that I end up waking myself up :((
Load More Replies...I've only had one episode of sleep paralysis, and it was a throughly enjoyable experience.. I woke up unable to move, but also without any of the pain I usual feel when first waking up in the morning. All my fibromyalgia pain was gone, and I remember just laying there thinking what a wonderful feeling it was, and how I didn't want to ruin it. It lasted about 5-10 minutes, then slowly the feeling came back, and so did the pain. I didn't even know what it was then, it wasn't until I was telling my ex about it that he explained what it was. I kinda wish it would happen again..
I wish that had happened to me. Instead I thought there was someone in my room watching me and I tried to move because of the pain but I couldn't. The last time though, I was lucid enough to recognise what was happening and talk my brain out of it.
Load More Replies...Happened to me, but only when I was at my brothers old place. Would have a loud Metallic ringing and grinding noise in my head, then the shadow man would be on my bed, and I would get pinned to the bed. Twice, at my girlfriends place, I've woken her up by shouting "help me" as I'm getting dragged out of bed. Now I get bad headaches and see things behind me when I turn my head slightly. Explained these to the hospital when i went in with pains behind my right eye. Got brain scans booked for 3 weeks time, the hospital want to rule out a tumour.
I used to see a man shaped shadow moving around the room, and I'd try like hell to scream but couldn't. It was terrifying.
The bad thing is also to keep trying to turn on the light, having the feeling of doing it, and not being able to. Luckily it doesn't last long...
Load More Replies...heaps of people i know say that theyve seen ghosts while sleep paralised
I used to get this, often.... Eventually discovered it I was laying with my neck turned a certain way it would happen, if not, it wouldn't. I've adjusted my normal position and it's been gone since.
My wife used to get this. Adjustment to pillows and the angle of the bed, plus trying to avoid sleeping on her back, has removed it for a long time now. Apparently one is also more likely to have happier dreams if lying on one's right side rather than one's left.
I lived in a haunted house for 5 years. Every single night I slept in that house I experienced sleep paralysis. Every night! It was exhausting and scary. I even developed a way to pull myself out of it. I had only experienced it once before and never again since I moved. I don't have any neurological or behavior disorders. So the theory it is just your brain tricking you doesn't align with my experiences. Interesting for sure.
If I remember correctly it was because they would not stop screaming and he hated that…
Can't imagine why they would scream? One vile POS (not you lol)

The story is more horrifying than explained here, there were A LOT of text conversations about it but on the day he actually did it, he got scared and got out of the truck filling with carbon monoxide and she pressured him to get back in.
I read the transcripts too, they are awful. She actually sounds like the nasty voice in your own head when you’re suicidal or depressed, the one your actual friends would insist is wrong. Ranging from the “compassionate” ‘they’ll be better off without you, this life is just pointless pain’ to the accusatory ‘you’re stalling again, just do it, it will all be over’, the idea of this voice coming to life is horrific - and now we know what it looks like.
Load More Replies...The moment he was dead she started rushing around doing everything in her power to get as much attention as possible out of it, oh poor me my boyfriend died, etc. Absolutely vile behaviour from beginning to end. Of course, now she's getting attention for being a sociopathic criminal.
Kind of like Munchausen by Proxy, where a parent will purposely make their child constantly ill, so they can “look after” them and make people praise them for their love of their child and their sacrifices made to take care of them, and so on? In this case, she goaded her already depressed and suicidal boyfriend, someone she should have been encouraging to seek counseling and helping to get better, to kill himself then immediately turned around and put on the act of the bereaved girlfriend, to turn everyone’s attention to HER instead of her dead boyfriend and his grieving family. I was initially puzzled by this case and how she could be considered guilty, since I believe we all have agency and can choose how to act/react, but I see now how she emotionally manipulated him, did a mind f**k on him, to commit suicide—-for no other reason than he was vulnerable so she could—- which he might not have done if they had never met, or if she had acted like a normal, compassionate human being instead of a monster. I sure hope she never has any chance to have children. I shudder to think.

Also, the final stages of syphilis occur up to 15 years after initial infection, and only around 30% of those infected have it. A treatment for Syphilis before the discovery of penicilin was to infect people with Malaria - The fever it causes would kill the syphilis bacteria and the malaria would be treated afterwards
Load More Replies...That's really not correct. While you certainly can die from syphilis there are stages that take years. It can be in the body relatively undetected for quite a long time before secondary symptoms break out. Don't get your information from sites like this.

I read a book about her and the whole thing was just appalling from beginning to end. The kid was being subjected to horrendous abuse at home. Then she murdered those two little boys and afterwards smilingly asked one of the bereaved mothers if she could please see the victim in his coffin. She was also aided by another young girl who seems to have been drawn in by her and who after their arrest acted like you'd expect a child that age to act, crying and terrified. Mary, on the other hand, was eerily calm and told all sorts of elaborate lies to try and get herself off the hook. She was eventually set free as an adult and even had a child of her own.
Not that this excuses murder, but the kid was seriously damaged from the start. Her mother was a 17 year old prostitute and her "father" (mom's boyfriend) was a violent alcoholic. Mary was thrown out of a window as a baby, dosed with sleeping pills, and sold by her mother. She was severely abused (sexually as well by mom's clients) and unwanted. :(
And she only served just under 12 years in prison before being given a new identity and place to live!
Not really. Her mother was a prostitute who tortured and abused her. I don't know if she received treatment, therapy or counselling while in prison to deal with trauma, but the real criminal here was her mother, in my opinion, and all the "good" people who knew she was being abused and did nothing.
Load More Replies...It’s all true. And she was released from prison at the age of 23, with a new identity.
Load More Replies...No. They were more concerned about overdosing little babies than managing their pain.
This. Anasthetics are still dangerous business only professionals should do, especially for little kids.
Load More Replies...They knew they could feel pain, they just thought it didn't matter and that they would not remember it.
Nope. It was because they were afraid of overdosing them.
Load More Replies...This b.o.l.l.o.c.k.s comes up regularly. Of course they knew babies could feel pain, they weren't idiots. But they could not safely anaesthetise them, and the logic was that they would not remember the pain. It must have been difficult for everyone involved in these life saving operations.
Thank you! F**k that s**t! I hate how stupid people are and what they are actually willing to do to their innocent babies all in the name of goddamn religion. My god!!
Load More Replies...So as stated above they knew they could feel pain but didn't know how to properly dose babies with anesthesia without killing them. I think they gave them something that essentially paralyzed them but kept them awake? Don't quote me on that part, but they knew they could feel pain. Picture above is a circumcision tho, that's still done without anesthesia.
Load More Replies...it's known to be traumatic. and they still claim it doesn't hurt. often they tell the parents they slept through it, when in fact, they pass out from pain and fear.

Okay what sick f*ck felt the need to go around decapitating rats for an experiment? 😡
A woman I know worked in a lab in college where her job was to decapitate rats. She had a device like a paper cutter behind a board with a hole in it. I don't understand why they played with rats to study this phenomenon when we still used the guillotine in france until 1981. Why couldn't they think about studying the actual people instead of killing innocent animals later ?
'Witnesses reported the eyes moving on the heads moments before death' I should hope so. Who writes this garbage?
Yep! It should have said "after the head was chopped off"

The story of Sawney Bean is very unlikely to be true, and most probably English propaganda designed to 'prove' how barbaric and uncivilised the Scots were. Still an interesting story though!
Fantastic, I was hoping for some new nightmare fuel as a change of pace!
"In the news, another creepy island caught fire and was burned to the water line."
Where would he be getting all the dolls from? Are there Walmarts or dollar generals near by this island in the middle of the ocean that we don't know about?
I think that place was an episode of Ghost Hunters, or it was a similar place.
prob won't spend much time on it, but now kind of curious. what is this [REC] movie??

Load More Replies...They didn't know what was happening exactly, the reactions are real. Very good movie.
So? It's still dangerous! Try reciting Othello while walking around a pitch black area. Jesus, talk about confusing good acting with night vision
Load More Replies...Statistics like this rarely mean anything. I'm reminded of a news report stating that prisoners with surnames beginning with M were more likely to reoffend. Guess where the survey was taken? Scotland.
I was born in November, I would not say I am any more or less pessimistic than the next person.
Load More Replies...9 months before November is February. Maybe theres just a lot more people born in November due to valentines day
And when you start getting towards the end of the month, you’re talking slightly premature babies from the effects of St Paddy’s Day celebrations.
Load More Replies...Correlation does not imply causation. Psych 101, my professor gave us this example; there is a direct correlation between the amount of ice cream eaten in a given month, and how many deaths from drowning are in that given month. As one goes up or down, so does the other. So, do we conclude that eating ice cream makes you more likely to drown? No. It's because in warmer months, people eat more ice cream and also swim more. Correlation =/= causation.
Lots of them were probably conceived around Valentine's Day ...
I was born in November, can confirm I am very pessimistic, and have been ever since I was a young child.
Ok, 1. This "November makes you pessimistic" is bulls*it. Science hasn't even decided if your character depends on nature or nurture! And to come to conclusion that birth month can determine your future mood, we would need to be CERTAIN that it's nature - we're born with everything we will eventually become. (Also, I tried really hard to find that study from 2005, to no avail.) 2. Prevalence of one type of personality being born in some months doesn't mean that one causes the other. It's correlation, not causation.
So the tale end of this list just became a creepy pasta? Sure. Good job Panda.
In the back alley, cold so it could hypothetically be frostbite. People would also be hurrying home on a cold day. The poison could be a lot of poisons considering he probably downed it if the story was true

If Hell is forever, then Heaven must be a lie, if angels can do whatever and remain in the sky. The rules are shades of gray, if you don't do as you say.
when you make the wretched suffer just to kill them again!

Remember Lucifer went to war with God because he didn't like the way that He was using them as playthings. I can't remember the exact book I read it in. I used to read a lot about religions out of curiosity.
Ah Christian compassion..... Alcoholics drown in wine, the suicidal repeat their act over and over... Tortured souls in life and then forever in death... Thank fk it's all b******t
I've heard a similar story, where hell is described as a party with loads of delicious foods on the table, but people can't bend their arms from the elbow to bring food in their mouths, and can't bend over to have a bite directly from the table. In heaven, everything is the same, but the people feed the food to each other.
So the film she used up during the day, some how got an extra photo on them, taken at night, after it was taken out of the camera...? Maybe update this scary story with a digital camera. Would make more sense
Um .. one photo from every roll of film taken of her at night (by someone or something else), while the film was in the camera - only to be discovered after developing.
Load More Replies...If she had spent four nights in the woods, this story might be a bit more believable. Even though a photographer would have surely used more than one roll of film a day.
Here's a story I will try to make scarier with a bunch of c**p. This never happened, couldn't happen, and will have plenty of people believing it. Oh what a deceitful tale I tell.
So she was there day and night. Used up each roll of film so therefore removed the full roll from the camera and stored it. Pops new film in. Yet OMG someone comes in when she's asleep, takes one photo of her asleep on roll of film. Removes that roll of film, goes through her things to find the Finished rolls of film and somehow pops these Back into the camera although you can't do that, three times each time impossible to do because the roll is wound to the End and yet miraculously there's space in each complete roll for one pic of her asleep. Now it was a sod of a job to get film into the camera and take to wind. When a roll was finished you wound it to the end. You risked exposing it when placing in or out. A stranger managed this on a camera unfamiliar to them And in the dark of night...And they'd need the flash to go off. There's more holes in this story than found in a fishing net and each one contains someone who's never used a camera that takes film in their little life 🤣🤣🤣
She was one night out in the woods, but each roll contained a photo of her? Did she made a point of getting a dark room in the woods to change films before they were finished, so that the "intruder" could put them back into the camera? I enjoy these stories as much as the next person, but they need to be believable.
This description is ridiculously inadequate. Her and her boyfriend that she was hooked on d***s with, killed the two girls along with their boyfriends, one of which was suspected of dealing d***s. The way the murders took place was quite disturbing. And the state they found her in when they finally went to arrest her was equally appalling.
Yeah. This just seems like a (fairly) harmless practical joke.

I think Bigfoot is an interdimensional being. Does nobody have a sense of whimsy and wonder anymore? Everyone's a skeptic.
They call him Cold. In the ufo version anyway. Look it up or peep the why files about it.
If it has never happened before or since, ok. My daughter used to sleepwalk when she was younger. She and her husband were staying over once, she crawled into bed with me(wife sleeps in other room), she still sleepwalks apparently, at 36. Had no recollection.
Oh.... The blackmail stories I have on my daughter. A prolific sleep walker through her early teens.
Load More Replies...Oh dear sweetie. It was just You in Your sleep. My late partner would get up in the middle of the night and do random stuff. Point blank refused to believe me, it wasn't him, I was dreaming..... Even when I showed him the VIDEO I got of him doing it, he denied it. Ffs, he'd even put his dressing gown on 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣
That is wild you showed proof and he still wouldn't even consider it. Ooof!

In America? At which point every person in the house and neighborhood opened fire and then I went back to bed. Psh.
It must suck to live in complete fear over nothing. Not a creepy or scary story.
Not locking the door is a top fear of mine. Don’t care or believe in the paranormal but I have an intense fear of scary people like robbers and murderers. I sometimes can’t sleep until I make sure that my front door is locked properly. It’s usually my dad who locks it at night because the bottom deadbolt is quite difficult to handle but sometimes I just recheck in case he forgot, which has never happened. I believe my fear comes from this one time a cousin’s family was robbed while they slept. The robbers crept right up to their bedside tables and stole their mobile phones (along with other stuff) and had they accidentally woken up, it would have become so messy. Another friend’s family had an experience where a man broke into their house just before they arrived home and hid under the parents’ bed. Then when they went to sleep he crawled out from under and fled with their valuables. They found a human shaped clearing in the dust under their bed the next day when investigating. All due to a door or window that wasn’t locked.
A "human shaped clearing"? Wouldn't sliding under the bed make a very big clearing from the side he climbed in and out of? Cuz it's impossible to climb over the dust to just make a hole the shape of a human..

Load More Replies...So you hear a noise, ask for the noise again and nothing happens, then later throughout the night you hear a noise again and the initial thought is what? A ghost, supernatural? More like a house settling or an overactive imagination.
In the old days, a writer’s juvenalia would be burnt when they died. With the advent of the Internet, it’s all juvenalia, all the time.
Load More Replies...I got as far as " you know that feeling ... " and just went 'no, I can't say that I do!' 😂
Wait, so ‘walk calmly or we’ll chase you’ but either way they’ll catch you anyway? If my fear is largely clouded by confusion, it’s not very good.
I don't think Hasbro really has a gateway to hell that they mass produce. This is why religion is so dangerous. It has people believing in things that are not real. Delusional, sick people.
When I was a kid, me, my sister and a friend made contact with a spirit called Elmira. We asked her a question, the planchette went all over the board. Our friend lost patience and snapped, "Elmira, that's bull cr*p!" We never got an answer. Not every spirit is evil. Some are just really, really inept.
I was 30 years old. I had just move back to my hometown in Georgia. I went, to a bar that an oldh school friend owned. The conversation fell into a story about his girlfriend and a ouija board. I was incredulous about his account. And I agreed to go over to the house. He told me that his girlfriend's mother had torn up the ouija board and threw it in the garbage but he said hed make one out of scraps of paper with the numbers and letters, and hello goodbye, and all that, and so he did. We put our fingers on the overturned shot glass and he asked me to ask a question. I had been on a second date with a girl named Joy and no one knew that we were seeing each other. I asked the question, where did I just come from? And the shot glass went to 3 letters. JOY. I left and never went back. Years later, I worked at a restaurant.call the Jackson Hotel in Colorado. It was incredibly haunted. Not in a bad way, but they were always there. I don't know how to quantify these things, but they are real.
If you try and retell a well known story, at least get the basic facts straight.
Imagine working for an entertainment agency known for its special effects and then believing the mysterious things happening are 'supernatural'.
Walt Disney is buried at Forest Lawn, you moron. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/284/walt-disney
My grandmother had two porcelain dolls held together with leather straps. They scared the c**p out of me. The two dolls were supposed to be left to me and my cousin, but I told my cousin to keep them both and never make me look at them. She was astounded - thought they were really special.
I don't believe in the Illuminati nonsense, but the redirect exists. I just tried it myself and it works. My guess would be someone in the NSA's IT department has a quirky sense of humor.
So you take a 3 year old outside and leave them? And because you didn't see anyone trying to take him, all is good?

I’m disappointed that this is an apparently random mix of things from real life, “friend of a friend” stories, and creepypastas. I understand that the source presents this kind of mix, but I would hope that BP would curate the entries better for its listicles.
By far the best short horror I've ever read is the one that goes: A girl was at home in her room when she heard her mother calling her to come downstairs. As she made her way to the stairway a hallways closet burst open and a strong figure pulled the girl inside. "You can't go down there! I heard it too!" Her mother whispered urgently into her ear. Or something like that. I dunno why but that one actually gives me chills.
That one is actually pretty creepy, I liked it, thanks!

Now *that* I find scary when there's so much meant to be done to assist with disabled online viewing. You can do so much better and you usually do ♿🔍
