I'm on the waiting list for a hearing assistance dog and because assistance dogs in the U.K. aren't as much as a thing like in America (much stricter laws) people don't see them as often and I'm worried I'll come across rubbish like this too. Especially when most of the puppies I see being trained up are beautiful dogs like in the photo! Still won't stop me getting one, already been told that most arenas in the U.K. have a dedicated staff member for each show in an office away from the noise of the show, that'll look after assistance dogs as obviously it's too loud for their sensitive ears, but you need the dog before and after the show- especially if travelling far and staying over for the show. So that's already one good thing I've found out

Wow, this is a whole new level of ignorance. My service dog isn't even a Labrador (yes, true certified service dog) My first service dog was a mutt, and the service dog we are currently puppy raising is a Cane Corso.

Conversely, I hate people who claim their pet is a "service" dog. Service animals go through a rigorous 22-24 month training process. And no - there is NO SUCH THING as an emotional support animal. All pets are "emotional support" animals. Quite frankly, I you can't go to the grocery store by yourself, you have no business even leaving the house. This is for the jacka$$ at Home Depot who insisted his German Shepherd was a service animal. Oh, really? The one taking a sh*t on aisle 12? Or the entitled Karen at the grocery store with her Pug. Yeah, the one that just lifted it's leg and p*ssed all over the potted plants? Every registered/certified service animal will be wearing a vest and will NOT riding around in your purse.
