Over the past 30 years, I have been celebrating my new year either with family or partying with friends. However, this time I have decided to give a shot to my long-time plan of volunteering in an Animal Shelter. Luckily there is a beautiful animal shelter in Pune name RESQ which is active since 2007, and now it has become one of the superior animal hospitals. It’s a non-profitable organization which is working for all kind of animal day and night. So I have decided to help them with their exceptional work. I took a leave from my office from 18th Dec 2019 and started working at RESQ till the 1st of Jan 2020. And I must tell you this was an extraordinary experience for me. One thing I understood for sure is that working with an animal is much easier than working with a human because Animals are such agreeable friends—they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms, unlike humans. Finally, I have started my 2020 with these fellas of mine. Without a doubt, this is much much better than spending money on an overrated New Year party.

About RESQ: It is a not-for-profit organization that works towards reducing human-animal conflict on the streets of Pune, India, since 2007.

They rescue and rehabilitate over 8000 injured and sick street animals every year, run a Free Street Animal Hospital, conduct education and awareness sessions on peaceful urban co-existence and run Rabies related field and research work programs.
