How Would You Feel If Your Daughter Was Told By Her Boyfriend’s Father That His Son Was Not Permitted Over Her House Because Of The Area?
Let me start by saying my daughter is 16yrs old and has her first boyfriend who is 17yrs old. They both make a great team, high honor students, respectful and love each other's company.
The problem is the boy's parents. The mom is a version out of the show "Smothered" the father has a temper and has his son afraid to pee without asking first. Not to say the parents do not provide but all is very controlled.
The father of this boy told my daughter his son is not permitted to our home because we live in a bad area. The father has no problem coming to our area for baseball games, plays, going out to eat etc.
So now I am worried for her safety in their home, if the dad is going to disrespect her or something worse..
The father of this boy has my daughter feeling like she is not good enough and her self-esteem diminishing each day more and more due to also saying she is like all the rest of girls he made go away.
The boyfriend has begged our daughter not to leave as his dad has ruined all his previous relationships.
My husband has called and left messages to talk to the boy's father to see exactly what about our daughter is not good enough for his son, besides where we live. But no call back.
Our daughter is the last of our six children. I never went through anything like this when our other children dated. We always enjoyed the one they were dating family and got along great, going to events over their homes and them coming to ours.
Both my daughter and her boyfriend attend a Catholic high school --we attend church, the boyfriend's family are holiday goers. Not that this has anything significant, but I was brought up and brought my children up to not judge and to forgive.
One side of us wants our daughter to just walk away, another side wants her to follow her heart, which is stay and stand by her boyfriend not permitting his parents to have the upper hand anymore with the repercussions on their son.
