It was a belief of Hitler's that Jewish people want to take over the world. (I, being Jewish, can confirm that I want to take over the world, but not because of my religion!)

In a work meeting last week, my bosslady had to explain to us (me, the only non-christian), that the Jews tried to ruin Mel's career because he had made the movie The Passion of Christ. Not because he's a racist. Gonna record the next work meeting that turns into bible study.

Record it, and share it with HR, and inform HR that you will be going to the State Labor Board about it if it does not come to a screeching halt.

It felt like everything was a lie. I can't look at his face with out feeling disappointment. The funny thing is I've never met the man yet I feel so let down.

As of this moment he is running higher on the list than lots of people who have done actual harm to others. Tom has some nutty ideas. He had an unfortunate interview moment where he was shooting for 'exuberantly in love,' and just came off weird. But that's a lot of hate for someone who is a little odd, but probably a nice person. Let him have his weird beliefs and focus on things that matter.

Not sure how you can respect any of their family. Rob Sr. helped get O.J. acquitted, Kris was the one who told Kim to make her sex tape public, which also makes Kim trash, Khloé supported using that to make them famous, Kourtney has turned my boy Travis into some mindless PDA embarrassment, Kendall... Pepsi and 818 Tequila to start, and Kylie underpaid her factory workers while pretending to be black. No respect due.

I stopped watching her when she was doing the things that were obviously so humiliating to her employee Andy. It was so plain to me that she was purposely and intentionally, and ravenously just grounding him in the ground, I admit he was a free adult person, and paid very well im sure, but her eyes weren't the eyes of a kind person when she would watch the stuff he was put through. Most of it wasn't even funny. It was just mean.

Old news now, but Jimmy Savile. That man was a hero, always raising money for charity, always on television, a guaranteed money maker, celebrity, charity showman and lots more. It is hard to imagine how idolised this man was. But take a look at his coffin being taken through the streets of Leeds, it was so surreal, like the death of much loved royalty. And then it all came out. I have read a couple of books about him, what horrifies me was he had an active paedophile ring in a Seaside town where I went on holiday with my family as a boy.

I know someone who lived in that seaside town, all the parents told their children to stay away from him. It was known what he was but he was so powerful that even if someone complained or went to the police nothing was done. He even had access to a children's ward and he was allowed to visit unaccompanied. He was vile.

As far as Roseanne is concerned, she made a horrible, gross, tasteless joke. But she did not deserve to have her career ruined over it. She's not a racist. She fought to have a black grandchild on her revival because she wanted to show middle America that there are all kinds of different families. She fought to have black characters in her original show. She fought for equality for women. She fought for gays. She showcased gay people on her show years before others. She had the first gay kiss on primetime tv. She should have been given the opportunity to sincerely apologize for a moment of stupidity. She should have been allowed to make amends by donating to worthy black causes. People make mistakes and if in their heart they are truly sorry, they should have a chance for redemption. Who out there is perfect and has never said something offensive? I know I have.

Elon Musk built his empire on the backs of brown child slaves in the Congo and South America. If you research cobalt or lithium mining and the harm it does to not only our environment, but the people of third world countries, you'd never look at a Tesla the same way again. He's no better than a cotton plantation owner in the 1800's. And people idolize him. I find it beyond disgusting. Every Tesla is covered in the bl**d of child slaves.

Even though SHE may be behind the scenes and controlling him (WE aren't in the relationship so we don't know) but for him, again, he was defending his wife. Did he overreact? Hell yes he did. Does he deserve the backlash he's getting. imo, no. There have been plenty other celebrities that have "thrown tantrums" at award's shows and got a slap on the wrist. Today's society is so quick to shame and cancel someone/thing without batting an eye. Sorry for the rant I just think it's unfair for Will.

Both were in the wrong. You don't make fun of someone's illness or disability. And you don't slap, punch or otherwise assault someone. I think Jada could have made a bigger point with a statement afterwards.

Ok probably going to get a lot of hate but here it goes. Disclaimer i might not know w lot of the situation. on the fence with this one. I feel like cris rock had the right to say what he said but having rhe right to say it doesn't keep him from the consequences of saying it . I dont agree with what will did but as Chris rock said "but I understand ". As far as his relationship with his wife . What they choose to do isn't my concern . If it only involves consenting adults then they can go for it . As far as I know he's a good father and he takes care of his wife even tho the personal situation there has to be hard for him. He doesn't abuse women. He doesn't abuse children and he's all around seemingly a good guy . A lot of people who are hain5 on him because of thst slap would have been up and do the same thing if it was their loved one .

I’m trying to figure out if I’m disappointed with Ellen for her deception, or mad at myself for being taken in. 🤔. I think, ofttimes, that we help create the monsters that celebrities become. Folks start to believe that they’re untouchable and act like it. People shouldn’t criticize the so-called “cancel culture”, but should embrace it instead. The concept has allowed us to call out people who’ve needed calling out for a long time, but who were allowed to get away with all kinds of 💩 because folks were silent, and therefore, complicit.

Used to respect Joss Whedon as a director for his work on the Avengers films, and being a writer in The Cabin in the Woods, but lost it after his time on Justice League (not just for the quality of the film, but also being released in theaters over Zack Snyder's superior version). The treatment of Ray Fisher (Cyborg) during the reshoots, including labeling Fisher as a bad actor, and verbally abusing him during the reshoots. Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa both came to his support during that time. Also, since I'm on the DC Movie line of thought, the nonsense that happened with Heard (though, I didn't really know too much about her aside from the couple of minutes of her in Zombieland) and everything currently going on with Ezra Miller currently.

Michael Jackson settled more than one molestation charge out of court during his life. It was basically an open secret that you shouldn't leave boys of certain age alone with him. If you go to older news and articles about him, it's referenced quite often. Dunno how much there is to find from those times on the internet though, cause newspapers and magazines were mostly on paper still.

I still love HP but, even back in the day, I've always found unnerving the fatphobia in the books. I didn't even know the term nor the concept but I've always felt something was wrong. The way she described Dudley, or uncle Vernon and his sister. The fact that no "good character" was really fat. Yes, Molly Weasley is described as plump (not fat though) and yet she is mocked by the Malfoys for that. It was subtle, not blatant, but I perceived it.

JK Rowling has said that the werewolves in HP represented stigmatized illnesses such as AIDS/HIV. Lupin contracted lycanthropy as a child, bitten by a werewolf who deliberately infects children. Do you not see the parallels with "gays are a danger to children" in that? She said Dumbledore was gay, then refused to allow his relationship with Grindelwald to be explored in the Grindlewald-centric movies. And it's easy enough to do a Google search & see some of the transphobic/TERF-supporting things she has said.

Don't worry, it's not true. Grohl is an active advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has been since the early 90s. He would never say it's "God's way of sorting out the homosexuals". He did get taken in by some c**p about HIV not causing AIDS - twenty years ago, and has since recanted that particular belief. Where this nonsense about him being a born-again Christian comes from, I have no idea. Grohl went to Catholic school and says he retained basically none of it.

So this is actually opposite but billy fucilo (or spelled something like that) I used to be so annoyed at him and hated him because of his commercial but when he died I started reading articles and started hearing about how he was a good person, he donated a lot to charity and did other things (I don't know the full story so someone tell me if I'm wrong)

If we're going regional car dealers, the Ernie Boch, Jr. up in New England. He raised money for music in schools, rescued the W**g Center from closing in Boston and airs commercials urging people to be nice to one another. Then he became on of Trump's earliest and biggest supporters, using his money to pay for ads and get Trump the wins in the early primaries in 2016 and propelling his momentum. Sorry, Ernie, I thought you were different from him, but you are as big a d**k as your dad ever was.

I assume this has to do with the way he cheated on his wife of many years with the nanny, fathered an illegitimate child from that affair, and kept it secret for so long. To his credit, it sounds like he did right by the kid and the nanny, but it's still a pretty rotten thing to do all around. Otherwise, I think he's pretty decent of late.

But these people were a big part of my childhood. Seeing the large amount of pettiness and negativity coming from them lately had been sad.

This one is going to be a long read, and kind of lowkey answer, especially if you don't watch MMA. I say more of my respect came for his fighting style, and not his character, but Sean O'Malley. In his early UFC career, he rallied to a win fight after getting kicked in the leg so much to the point of limping during the fight. Started to pay more attention to him, especially after he came back from a layoff. He started becoming unlikeable as a personality after his first professional loss, where he claimed it was a fluke (got dropped with a leg kick, then hit multiple times until the ref pulled him off). Then he got preferential match ups, declining several call outs from rising/ranked fighters. And in his most recent fight against a guy in the top 10, Pedro Muhnoz, accidentally fouls the guy a few times, with the last eye poke/rake leading to his opponent getting a scratched cornea. Ruled a no-contest, but O'Malley claims it as a TKO win, and even accused his opponent of faking the injury... Despite the medical report showing an injury to his eyes by his cornea being scratched. Talks a big game, fumbles his opportunities against higher profile opponents, and gets preferential matchups in the UFC.

To boil it down to those who don't want to read a long wall of text, had some good showings before he lost, including a victory after getting an injured leg, claimed his first loss (via legit ways) was a fluke, gets preferential matchups, stumbles on big matchups, talks a big game, ducks higher profile/legitimate opponents, and claimed a No Contest due to fouls as a TKO win. And he's also annoying on social media.

Literally not at all low key. You ramble on for three paragraphs when being low key means being succinct and understated.

    Community Member

I meant more lowkey in the sense that people who don't watch MMA might have no idea who I was talking about, and needed to set some context.

Can't give you this one. I think he was complicit in negligence, but nothing that would warrant destroying his reputation. There are plenty of good reasons not to like the guy, but the shooting accident isn't one of them.

But after her lingerie photoshoot, I unfollowed her. Yes, it's up to her to wear anything she wants. But I just lost the sight of a female singer who doesn't reveal her skin too much in her, so I walked away peacefully. Anne Hathaway. Okay, not 100% dislike or disrespect her. It's just I have read somewhere that she was terrible at set and ranked the most difficult actress to work with in Japan. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. She seems lovely and elegant. One of celebrities who doesn't constantly seek for attention in social media, which is rare nowadays. So I still like and respect her.
