Many say playing video games is a waste of time. I can only say from experience: not necessarily.

For example, I almost never had to study for history exams at school (not even for high school): I knew the wonders of the world from Sid Meier's: Civilization, Old Kings and Emperors from Crusader Kings. I was able to list the Hanseatic cities according to Patrician IV and Hearts of Iron IV introduced me to all the lead figures in World War II.

And the years of managing goods and production chains in ANNO brought me to my current job (in logistics).

So I just wanted to ask: what about you?

I can think of many more cases like "which herbs help with which injuries (from pretty much every survival game)", or "how do I pick a lock" etc.

Dune. The quote about fear in particular. I use that every day to overcome my anxiety and calm myself during panic panic attacks. I’ve been off medications for nearly 7 years! If you don’t know it …I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
