It is way past time we do something about people who should not be parents. Every day the news has a story about people neglecting and killing their children. Should we require a test before we allow people to have a child? I don't have a good answer, I only know the problem needs to be addressed.
Thing is, unless the parents are being viciously vile and neglectful to their kids, who is anyone to say someone shouldn't be parents. Sure, there are parents who could benefit taking a parenting course. Thing is, people get bent out of shape over how parents want to raise their own kids, in which they have right to. Just like how our parents parented us, and their parents parented them. No generation had mastered parenting to perfection that benefited both society, the parents and the kid. There's always someone who's going to have a negative opinion. Also, I'm just going to put it out there, because this has ended up being a terrible thing put in place. Birth alerts have been a thing in Canada, or at least in Manitoba. It's basically an alert when a pregnant women of questionable background or lifestyle goes into labour and authorities and CFS is called to immediately apprehend the baby moments after birth. I'm sure this system has saved some babies, but what has come to light is

There are a lot of topics I would love to have a civilized debate on but with how people can't conduct themselves civilly it's more like a pipedream. I also have a very hard time trying to convey a message in the exact context, in a way that makes sense to someone else.
