I can relate. When we first put our bigger tree up my cat tried to climb on it like last year (he was a kitten). The problem is he is much bigger and when he jumped up he basically took half of the branches down with him.

Ugh, I feel this one. Every year, the cats love to mess up the tree. Buying a real tree might help, but I'm cursed with allergies. So we're forced to by the very lightweight fake ones

Yes, half of Kangaroo Island burned, including the plantation where we have always got our tree. We take a tree from the road verge where they have self seeded. Not sure where to go this year... one small pine forest left... will do some recon before taking kids so it stays the joyous outing it's been since 2015!
