This looks so good. I made one similar to this 20 years ago....it was delicious but I have never made it again because it was so much work!

Yeah, it took me a few hours, baking the cake and doing the different layers (there's another layer of peach puree on the inside) and letting them cool. It was already 10pm when I put the glaze on top.

Lilikoi ! Do you live in the tropics? That's a gorgeous glaze on top. What's the middle layer? Cheesecake? Looks delicious!

No, actually far from it, in northern Germany. XD The middle layer is whipped cream with a bit of vanilla. And there's another layer of peach puree on the inside.

Nah, I bake for fun and to relax or when I'm depressed. Wouldn't want to spoil it by turning it into another job. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator working as a full-time UX/UI/2D artist for a gaming company. That's enough. :)

I merged several recipes into one and I only have it in German at the moment. But I could translate it sometimes and post it on my insta if I find the time. In the meantime, google "Solero cake" and you should find plenty of similar recipes. :)

Is this sourdough bread? Looks delish! My attempts at sourdough weren't so great. I tried to post a pic of the baking spree I had last night, but not sure I posted it or not. Started with a loaf of yeast bread, recipe enough for 2 loaves, but I nixed 2nd loaf & tried cinnamon rolls. While oven was still hot I whipped up mini loaves of banana bread, too. :-)

you use circular cookie cutters or stencils to cut out circles in both chocolate and vanilla cake, then alternate the colors. when you cut it, it gives the checkerboard effect

Basically halve layers of chocolate and yellow cake. Cut concentric circles out carefully with a parchment stencil. Alternate colors for a few (I did five) layers. Glue each layer together with a brush of warm ganache. Thanks guys 😊

I've been on a literal "tea cake" craze lately. The Earl Grey hwhip I made by infusing like 10 bags on low with 1 cup heavy cream. Incorporated that into 4 cups fresh more whippable cream. Another fun combo- green tea pound cake with a ginger lemon Greek yogurt raw sugar quick glaze.

It was some work, but each thing was made for a different meal...so a compilation of leftovers, and then the bacon roses (they only take 20 minutes. Same with the beans. The soup took the longest, but I had made that 3 or 4 days ahead of time, and thought it'd make a nice little add on. You can make anything fancy, if you have a fun set of dishes to put it with:). These were from my hubby's grandma's collection.

For the bacon stems, I just used the pointy ends of some black chopsticks, but if you have access to artificial roses, pop the rose heads off and put the finished bacon roses on for a more rosey effect:). I have also used wooden skewers, or reused the sticks from and edible fruit arrangement. Hope this helps!

2 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

For the bacon roses: Preheat your oven to 375F This Recipe takes about 20 minutes prep and 30-45 minutes of cooking time in the oven...depending on how crispy you like them. 1pound bacon (thicker cut, and hickory smoked) Thicker cuts will make more defined rose petals. toothpicks a cookie sheet with tinfoil and a little metal rack to set the roses on or, if you have it, muffin tins...they will keep the bacon roses up right and not sitting in the grease as they bake brown sugar, or any other spice rub...i just used brown sugar (for the candied effect) Directions: 1. grab a strip of bacon 2. start rolling it counter clockwise (like rolling up a sleeping bag) 3. if you want to get fancy, twist the bacon after you roll each quarter way around 4. pierce roll with toothpicks ( one from each side, so that you have a little x like stand that will help prop the bacon rose up when you bake it. 5. sprinkle or dip tops in brown sugar 6. place in oven for 30-45min watch closely

The dough recipe that I have is simple and only needs to be in the fridge for an hour :) The good thing is this crust can be used for everything... quiche, pies (both meat and sweet), etc... Didn't mean to post twice. Had a baking marathon last night. Started with a double recipe for yeast bread. Made one loaf & tried making cinnamon rolls with the rest of the dough. They taste better than they look. While oven was still hot I whipped up banana bread. Ended up giving half of the baked goods to family & a neighbor today. Am nibbling on the rest. ;--)

Yum. Great job, did you happen to use apricot jam as a glaze?

I used a raspberry jam but I’ll have to try apricot next time!
