Really funny to watch when the toy is wet, while carrying it in her mouth, it drops water on the floor which the little lady then vividly tries to avoid. Then starts runing through the house, from floor to floor, while she growls loudly 😸

About what I've read there are several possible explanations: Hiding or nesting its prey, washing off the prey’s scent, driven by collecting and gathering instincts, learned pattern, boredom. Also no clue what drives ours. However the little lady is kinda "high maintenance" 😸 so eventhough we spend quite a lot of time with active playing, we noticed that she shows this behaviour most when playtime is over or when she seems to need a different approach.

Maybe kitty knows that fish swim and thinks her cuddle fish toy wants to have a swim? Siamese cats are a strange breed (said with affection and confusion). I'm a pet sitter and so far in 11 years have not sat for a Siamese cat. Which is fine by me as they are a chatty breed, and I have misophonia and think all that noise would irritate me. As beautiful as they are.

@ Epona : We had the same idea............rescue Fishy!!!!!!!!. IN fact there quite a few reasons why cats may behave like this, none of it proven though. They are indeed rather vocal. Ofc personality plays a huge role. But in common, they're very smart, very upfront, tends to like humans more than fellow cats, wants to experience everything you do, vocally adress anything worth sharing. Ours seems to have an unlimited amount of energy, cant' get enough playtime. I absolutely adore this breed but caretakers should be aware about the fact they can be high maintenance.😽

She is trying to contribute to the house! My cat brought me a bird head trophy and a whole bird one time. A head trophy and a whole dead animal is a sign of deep respect for the pride in the cat world. She mostly brings me mice. She also likes to walk with us when we take our dogs out, and has following my husband across the street into the store before. Her name is Mrs pancakes

I know I will get people upset by saying this but I feel the need to point out that the chances of your cat/s bringing you dead animals (birds/mice/lizards/etcetera) as "presents" are much less likely to happen as often if you keep them (the cat/s) indoors (or at least confined to a cat run/catio when outdoors). Yes, they can still bring in those critters, if you have a wild mouse problem in your house or something similar) but the chances are probably considerably lower than if the cat/s are not allowed outside whenever they want. Please don't downvote me and get me suspended for voicing my opinion on this. I am allowed to feel how I feel. I don't expect people to agree with me, just like I don't expect to agree with other people who feel differently than I do. This is not something that I should get suspended for saying.

Of course you are allowed to have your opinion. But in my opinion keeping a cat in a closure if you live in a calm area is just sad. Being "mouse-presents" free is not worth it. If you live in a city, that is a different story.

If you have a mischievous cat, why would you keep a family member's ashes within reach of said cat? Why not put the ashes in something the kitty can't wreck/spill? Or scatter the ashes (without the cats' participation)?

    1. I like having some of my dad's ashes near me, on my desk. 2. It's the blue and gold thing in the bottom of the picture, it's a mini-urn with just a portion of his ashes. It's taped closed, so it didn't spill :) It just got knocked off the tank to the desk a few inches below. 3. I want to, and I intend to do so, but I want to scatter his ashes at a place where he used to be happy: the spot where we would vacation every summer when I was a kid. It's a 6-7 hour drive from where I live, and I haven't been able to afford the trip there yet, both financially (gas) and timewise.

Yarn is basically string to a cat, of course, they are distracted/enticed by it. I'm not a fan of pink so I agree with the cat on that point, if it wasn't personification. I do like blue and yellow, though. They are complimentary colours on the colour wheel.

Tip for your mom: Take a picture of the puzzle when it's complete, so you have the memory captured. Tip for you: take JoJo to doggy daycare to help her learn how to not get so spooked by other animals. I would like to know what you meant by "freaking out". The scared kind of freaking out? Or the angry kind? Or the excited kind? All of them combined? Is this just a common thing in Border Collies (I think she's a Border Collie)? Maybe get some kind of window film that lets light come in the window but blocks her sight (and gives you more privacy) so she doesn't get so spooked. Also, how low was the table that the puzzle was on that she was able to knock it all over so easily? Was it a low coffee table? I have many questions

To quote Christine Chenowith (from the movie Wicked) talking about her dog Thunder (AKA: Thunderpup) "Somebody I know needs obedience school". It's an old video (2007) so hopefully, Thunder has since grown out of this behaviour, I think she was still a puppy in the video. https://www.facebook.com/kristinchenoweth/videos/someone-i-know-needs-obedience-school-thunderpup/10154322455841360/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7u9H-K6eMY&ab_channel=KristinChenoweth

I'm confused. Is this brown and white Broder Collie also named Jolene, just like the one in #24? Or not, because this one is named Jo and not Jojo? Because the OP has a different name for this picture.

Rabbits have zero remorse for this kind of thing. Cords are merely inconvenient things that need to be moved. We've had rabbits that snipped wires and one that ate papers, the more important the better. It's a good thing they are cute and affectionate.

Give her more scratching posts/cat trees and scratching pads and shake some catnip on them to entice her to scratch them instead of the human furniture. Sometimes you might need to hold her paws up to the scratching posts and mimic the act of her scratching to get her to understand how to use it. This is a thing people sometimes have to do with kittens and/or rescue cats who may not have ever seen/used a scratching post/pad before

I no longer waste money on expensive toys for Christmas--I get my cat a $1 pack of tissue paper. One sheet will keep her entertained for 4-5 days before it becomes too shredded to play with any more, so she gets about 3 months worth of enjoyment out of a single 20 sheet pack.
