Almost 6 years ago I started making jewelry with Lego bricks. Earrings, bracelets, brooches, cufflinks – pretty much everything that falls into the category.
Since the beginning, I had an idea of designing a real handbag made with bricks. The one you could actually use – not a brick model you can only put on display but something that could be taken to a party or anywhere else.

It took me quite some time to work on the design, alter the techniques, find all the right tools and materials. The aim was to use as little materials other than bricks as possible. The result is what you see, and I have to say I’m pretty happy with it.

Last year I started using gold plated bricks – real gold plated bricks. It’s a whole new story of how hard it was to find somebody that would plate those for me – only one company was finally willing to work with the small batches of bricks I need.
Most of my friends thought I was crazy when six years ago I told them this is how I was going to pay my bills. Now they believe I have one of the coolest jobs there is.
